If anyone is relating to him, here's my advice: - Get a hobby that's not NECESSARILY related to geekiness (archery, pottery, painting, biking) - Buy a facial cleanser and a daycream, and use it every time you shower - it does wonders for the appearance. - You don't have to work out, but at least stretch every day, because it makes you more comfortable with your body. - NEVER overstep boundaries. Never touch in a way or say something you wouldn't say or do to your mom (ofc. when you're dating, that should naturally change, but it's better to be nice than creepy - no matter how you look!) - Don't see all women as potential partners, but see them as potential friends. That's the biggest change I made in my life, and since I made that decision it took only 6 months to get my first relationship. ALSO, don't be afraid to date someone you have nothing in common with. I didn't think I liked videogames, but I have been taught so much by my past and current partner. I really like nature and domestic chores, and have taught them things too. I've always wanted to see a show like this where with dating, they focus on the nerdy/geek side of things. The guy in the video seems nice enough and has a sense of humor. But I do think there are some things he could've done to up his chances. For example, the neck beard is just an unflattering look and just never looks good. He would be better off shaving it off or growing a fuller but groomed beard instead. Also, while I think there's nothing wrong with Glasses, he could also try contacts. Contacts aren't for everyone but it's just a small suggestion for experimenting. And yes, he is of bigger proportions. I do think if he lost some weight, it may help him a bit. I'm not saying he needs to look like the hulk or become thin but when you're pushing obese, it' can get very hard to attract people since only a rare number of people are attracted to obese/morbid obese bodies. As far as his interests, he's fine. At a comic-con, it's a given that both the men and women there will be geeks of something. But the Brony thing... Yeah, that is a very hard one. I personally think one should like whatever they want but there's no denying that there's a stigma on Bronies/MLP considering the show was targeted to little girls. I've tried watching it myself and I just don't understand the appeal but whatever. I guess the best thing to do is that unless you know the girl is into the show herself, you should save that for later and try to have her get to know what kind of person you are first so that way when you do mention that you like MLP, she won't have a pre-concieved notion of you because she got to know what kind of person you are. I guess at the end of the day, my point is that all he needs to do is clean up a bit. Look at the girls, some of them look like they still maintain themselves (clean styled hair, smoothed out face, effort in simple clothing choices, etc.). Basically, when it comes to a date, it's best of for the guys to put in some effort as well. Some of the guys there did just that and I'm sure it helped. If you're going to a speed dating place, even if it's in a comic convention, make sure you at least look clean and groomed. It will make all the difference in the first appeal.

I think may be what might help ppl like this get dates, not just with other super geeks, is better personal hygiene. I'm not saying all have that problem. If anyone is relating to him, here's my advice:
- Get a hobby that's not NECESSARILY related to geekiness (archery, pottery, painting, biking)
- Buy a facial cleanser and a daycream, and use it every time you shower - it does wonders for the appearance.
- You don't have to work out, but at least stretch every day, because it makes you more comfortable with your body.
- NEVER overstep boundaries. Never touch in a way or say something you wouldn't say or do to your mom (ofc. when you're dating, that should naturally change, but it's better to be nice than creepy - no matter how you look!)
- Don't see all women as potential partners, but see them as potential friends. That's the biggest change I made in my life, and since I made that decision it took only 6 months to get my first relationship.
ALSO, don't be afraid to date someone you have nothing in common with. I didn't think I liked videogames, but I have been taught so much by my past and current partner. I really like nature and domestic chores, and have taught them things too.
In closing: quit with the fetishizing of red hair, it's fucking gross and why the women don't take you seriously as a potential partner.

I've always wanted to see a show like this where with dating, they focus on the nerdy/geek side of things. The guy in the video seems nice enough and has a sense of humor. But I do think there are some things he could've done to up his chances.
For example, the neck beard is just an unflattering look and just never looks good. He would be better off shaving it off or growing a fuller but groomed beard instead. Also, while I think there's nothing wrong with Glasses, he could also try contacts. Contacts aren't for everyone but it's just a small suggestion for experimenting.
And yes, he is of bigger proportions. I do think if he lost some weight, it may help him a bit. I'm not saying he needs to look like the hulk or become thin but when you're pushing obese, it' can get very hard to attract people since only a rare number of people are attracted to obese/morbid obese bodies.
As far as his interests, he's fine. At a comic-con, it's a given that both the men and women there will be geeks of something. But the Brony thing... Yeah, that is a very hard one. I personally think one should like whatever they want but there's no denying that there's a stigma on Bronies/MLP considering the show was targeted to little girls. I've tried watching it myself and I just don't understand the appeal but whatever. I guess the best thing to do is that unless you know the girl is into the show herself, you should save that for later and try to have her get to know what kind of person you are first so that way when you do mention that you like MLP, she won't have a pre-concieved notion of you because she got to know what kind of person you are.
I guess at the end of the day, my point is that all he needs to do is clean up a bit. Look at the girls, some of them look like they still maintain themselves (clean styled hair, smoothed out face, effort in simple clothing choices, etc.). Basically, when it comes to a date, it's best of for the guys to put in some effort as well. Some of the guys there did just that and I'm sure it helped. If you're going to a speed dating place, even if it's in a comic convention, make sure you at least look clean and groomed. It will make all the difference in the first appeal.

I think a lot of it is those women being at the very least naturally cute and being able to get men and keep them so they try to keep themselves up. The men however after so many rejections, just go screw it and having no “incentive” to “improve” just stay in their current state.

Jakegothicsnake It's not the same thing, MLP is meant for LITTLE (and I'm trying to make it clear that I'm emphasizing the "little") girls while superheroes have the general target group of boys (of all ages), but that doesn't mean that it's not meant for older males, or even females. MLP on the other hand, is literally made solely for young girls between the ages of 2-11 with no other target groups or elements (except maybe for the mothers who occasionally have to sit through the show for their kid's sake). And there's a reason why all bronies are autistic, and fat neckbeards who probably get their rocks off just thinking about the show. It's because it's not normal (aka fucked up) I mean like, just look at the person you're defending in this thread, prime example right there.
this was amazingly fun to watch. I actually cheered when she choose him and my heart sank when it didn't work out. I'm a mega nerd, I own a toy/game store and all that jazz. I look forward to more of these.

The brony Brodie needs some advice on dating and social interaction. not all girls that say “I just want to be friends” are friend zoning you. I think may be what might help ppl like this get dates, not just with other super geeks, is better personal hygiene. I'm not saying all have that problem. But when I started going to conventions it was very noticeable. Looks aren't everything, but at least make an effort to look nice if you want to attract someone and a little soap won't kill you.
