  • Decided to do some more exploring today in NJ and really came across a beautiful small Wild trout brook! I hooked into over 25 trout in just a few hours of fishing and also missed a really big wild brown for this stream! This is what exploring is all about! Sometimes you find those hidden gems! TIGHTLINES!

That is really amazing how shallow water these brown trout can thrive in. I would have drove right by that kind of stream if I saw that. You really know how to work those brooks. Thank you for the tips! 🎣🎣

Sexy Walts Worm has worked for me in these small streams. Been using a Mono Rig to avoid fly line on the water.

Who would have thought there were wild trout in New Jersey? So great to see!

I still catch quite a few wild browns on the fly in peapack brook. If you do some exploring back there, they're very aggressive little fish LOL and beautiful. Always fun exploring the smaller streams, thanks for sharing.

I love around the 8 min mark you had a feeling you’d catch one in some small random area and BAM. good for you!

Amazing video ! I love the way you stalked the trout and give a play by play. Seeing you miss that wild brown was epic too .I heard there were places in New Jersey that still have wild Trout but I have yet to find any of them . Tight Lines !

Enjoyed your video...just caught my first wild brown and brookie this past month. New to trout fishing...more of a bass guy...but getting more into it. Gotta get a fly rod...definitely think it would improve my presentation

Thanks for the info and footage! Do you have an optimal leader formula for fishing these shorter rods and smaller waters? I have a recently acquired 6'6 2wt rod and have been having difficulty getting my flies to turn over accurately and without disturbance. Thanks!

Seán Earnest thanks Sean. I use a 7ft 2wt rod and my leader is a 9ft 5x leader. I do cut off leader before I tie on my dry fly. I high stick a lot as well so my fly line is never usually in the water
