I’m 80 yrs old and as a young girl I remember waking in the morning to my grandma singing you are my sunshine and making biscuits. They were so good. With karo syrup and of couse butter swirled in it.
Shirley I'm 72 thus month and I remember my grandma doing the same. When I stayed with her I would jump out from under her homemade quilts and fly d9wn the hall to the kitchen to get behind the old wood stove and wait for those biscuits. I miss those times
OMG yes, me too! Karo syrup ! I use it on French toast too!
Karo syrup and peanut butter also!
how bout karo syrup drizzled on top of french vanilla ice cream :D that's what I would do
y'all should try sorghum , its so good with a biscuit or apple butter
Two weeks before my Mama died, she was still making scratch biscuits at 94. She made them every day since , she was 12. Grandma taught her how to fix them.
My grandmother did also till the day she died and I can see her sitting at the table drinking her coffee out of her saucer n not the out of her cup , golden memories
Gloria Mahaffey
I know they were delicious and you have those beautiful memories.
May God bless y'all,
Gaye Furlow
My mother learned how to make biscuits from her grandma in the 30’s, standing on a wood box. My mother always made buttermilk biscuits and she choked them off and rolled them. They were baked in a cast iron skillet. I have been learning to make those biscuits for 50 years.
What lovely memories of your mama's and grandmother's.
Family Memories.🙂
I really appreciate how these homemade videos show cooking in real time. The fancy edited TV shows don't and I love to see how long it really takes to blend the flour and butter. Thanks!!
I agree!!
Yessss!
I have to completely agree!! You get to see in real time the labor of love that cooking takes. Especially from scratch 😊
This Quarantine Cooking series is so nice. You’re the Comforter-in-Chief, Paula. I love how casual and relaxed they are, and your easy pace. You just make me feel like everything’s going to be okay. It’s like sitting in my mother’s kitchen, when I was a kid. Thank you, Paula. I might never make one of these recipes, but I love watching these videos.
I second that! 🤗
You can also grate the cold butter so you won't have to use the pastry cutter...
Great tip. Thank you!
Ooh great tip!!! Thanks!
That's how I do mine too. I got that tip from Monique, Divas Can Cook.
I pulse mine in batches with flour in my food processor lol
@@christyinthecarolinas I was hoping there was an easier way.
When my kids were little, I used to make biscuits and sausage gravy for them all the time. Haven't made that in years. Gonna be making it again real soon. ❤️
What a great mom! They’ll remember that always!
Had some for breakfast this morning all this cooking going on I'm putting on some pounds
I'm gonna have to run around the house
oh yessss
Ms cynthia your kids have a beautiful mom that can make biscuits 😉
Girl, you brought tears to my eyes with that sausage gravy..my Mama made it when we were young.. now I'm old..lol..I can just see it bubbling in that cast iron skillet..thanks for the memory on this Tues..and Kentucky rain falling down!
I discovered a trick with the butter instead of cutting it in. Put your buttermilk in the freezer to get really cold. Melt your butter. Then with a fork stir the almost frozen buttermilk while you pour the butter in and voila. Small butter nuggets that mix in great.
do you mix the buttermilk and melted butter? or which do you add first to the mixture? that sounds genius!
@@jamilaaaaa seems like you pour the melted butter into the cold buttermilk as you stir the buttermilk. Then put the butter/buttermilk mixture into the flour.
@@lishayost44 thanks!
Biscuit making lesson from the queen of cooking! THANK YOU! You just made my morning coffee time so special! Love you all!
I love making biscuits. My grandma taught me. She’s been gone now for 17 years and I still miss her all the time. But, I feel close to her when I’m making biscuits. I can still see her in the kitchen standing beside me directing me. She didn’t even have a recipe usually, she would just say, “about that much or that looks about right.” 😄 I am making biscuits tomorrow morning with sausage gravy. I rarely make gravy and biscuits anymore but I was raised eating down home southern cooking by a lovely southern grandmother. Thanks for making these videos Paula. My daughter and I have so enjoyed watching you!
My favorite. Sausage gravy and homemade biscuits. I live alone but I still make them just for me 😉
Tina, me too.
Sounds like my Grandma! She never measured a thing and was a fabulous cook. She taught me how to make biscuits, but I never perfected it until she passed. I like to think she gifted me that ability after she left this Earth. : )
Tina Truman What a wonderful memory!
I Also was raised bye granma an grewing yo with her and cooking with her was so exciting so many memorable Moments Also share with My two son and hee stories while cooking ohhhh man undiscribable specially spooky ones when cooking no rainy season and lights went out she make great sardine bread thats what she called them because they we're sardine recycle can containers i remember when que usted ti sello them house by house they said ?sardine bread? 😂😂😂😂😂 They said never trastes sardine bread cooking is fun but teaching is another great thing cuz You are sharing your secrets🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 bless yall from Puerto Vallarta México 🦐🦞🥗🍍🌽🥑🥒🌶️🍅🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Baked eggplant casserole. 1 lb. eggplant, 1/2 lb dry bread crumbs, 1 sm. can evaporated milk, 1/4 cup whole milk, 1/4 c. each finely chopped green peppers, onion and celery, 1/2 stick butter, 2 beaten eggs, salt/pepper to taste, sage to taste, chopped pimento to taste, 2 oz. grated cheese. ---Peel eggplant, soak in salt water in frige. for several hours. Soak dry bread crumps in evap. milk plus whole milk. Saute vegs. in butter. Boil eggplant until tender, drain well. Mix all ingredients. Blend well. Top with cheese and bake at 350 until golden brown.
They called them pastry clothes.
I keep mine in a ziplock bag in the freezer...never wash it. Shake off excess flour before freezing.
Makes for a softer dough. Biscuits, cookies, pie dough. Any dough
Yep I do the same thing.
What type of fabric should I use? Thanks!
I use pastry cloth also. I have a pastry board I keep in cabinet. Pastry cloth folded and in fridge...I think mine is cotton...something like flour sack material!
Courtney Sirmon I use a queen bed pillow cover, heavy cotton.
I ended up ordering a "pastry cloth" off Amazon. Large pillowcase is a great idea
I love fig preserves, too. Maybe some time you could show how to make them? I have 3 small fig trees, but my aunts and grandmother are all gone and evidently none of my cousins that lived near them learned how to make the preserves! One of the highlights of our trip to Mobile each summer was all the jars gifted to us to take home! My aunts knew how much I loved them so they made extras for us. Living in Arizona so far away from family, each dollop on toast was like a hug from family. Each time.
Fig preserves are absolutely delightful.
@@radiahwilson3006 I have a recipe for Strawberry Fig Preserves that my Granny gave me. I don't care for figs. But, I love this.
My grandpa has been sending me home with a couple jars of fig preserves for the past couple months and oh my goodness it’s so good! We eat it on sharp white cheddar and sometimes toast! It’s VERY good!
lovely story, thanks for sharing, never seen fig preserves, sounds good
I would love a tour of Paula’s kitchen...a complete tour!
I don't know if she still does it, but there used to be special events at her house including a tour. Two of my cousins went.
@@lolacat2420 I'm so jelly 😁, that would be so much fun, Paula is awesome
@@Chatandstuff I agree.I would love it!! Paula is just awesome!
@@lolacat2420 I bet it was GORGEOUS.
Like 3 kitchens...🙄
This recipe reminded me of how I learned to make biscuits. Not having any southern roots, my idea of homemade biscuits meant I opened a tube of refrigerator biscuits and baked them myself. Well about a year ago, I watched a video on how to make REAL homemade biscuits. The RUclips channel was called Collard Valley Cooks and the woman making the biscuits was Tammy Nichols, also from Georgia. (You may have heard of Tammy. She was on Family Food Fight just last year and Tammy, her husband Chris and Tammy's brother Eddie came in 2nd place!). Anyway, like you, Tammy is a true southern cook and her recipes are delicious! In one of her recent videos she mentioned wanting to meet you, now that she and her husband live in St. Mary's. Georgia. She reminds me so much of you, Paula, and I've learned so much from both of you. I sure hope you have the opportunity to meet one another!
Southern, no sugar but awesome eating with butter while yankee biscuits are loaded with sugar !!!!!!!!!! Glad you learned to make your own
If you do your genealogy, you may discover southern cousins! I do mine, and it seems we are all related!
I don't use sugar either 😁.
@@lolacat2420 o my goodness I didn't mean biscuits, I meant cornbread ! what was I thinking ??? 🤪
@@okapmeinkap7311 🤣
I don't use sugar with cornbread either 🙂. My grandmother made it in a big old iron skillet in the oven. She ALWAYS had it! I learned to love it with butter and no sugar. My Mama used to fry up cornbread patties in the skillet on top of the stove. Then she would break them up in a glass, and pour buttermilk over them. I never learn to like buttermilk, but regular milk works well!
Going to be teaching my 14 yr old grandson how to make biscuits soon, already taught him to make sausage gravy. He couldn’t believe how easy it was!!
My Mama used to make us scratch made biscuits 3 times a day everyday. My fondest memories are of breakfast before we went to school we always had biscuits with our grits and eggs and whatever meat she cooked up and a cup of coffee prepared the way each one of us liked it! Ain't nothing like a Southern Mama! ♥️♥️ Thank you Mrs. Paula!
Just fine thank you. I hope you are as well.
How has no one commented how insane that sounds? 3 times a day. That's pretty much all she must have done.
HOW'S YOUR AUNT PEGGY?

God love ya, Paula Deen!! You have been the Southern Queen Cook for me ever since my momma died in 1992! And, as a Southern woman, I know we know good food, and I am thankful for you helping me do it right for the past 30 years! Thank you, and may God Bless you for always!
I need a “butter y’all” butter dish! Love you Paula! Thanks for all these great videos!
I’m for sure going to make these biscuits.....love from Canada!!!!! Love your Quarantine videos, keep making those Southern recipes!!!
Oh, Paula! This took me right back to my Mawmaw's kitchen! I used to stand in a chair and watch her mix the flour, shortening, and milk in her pink biscuit bowl, and she patted them down a bit with the back of her hand just before she put them in the oven. Thank you so much for this and the many other memories you bring back to me with your recipes and stories. Love you much!
Love Paula Deen and her down home cooking recipes ! I am so glad that she is taking the mystery out of old timey recipes. We need those recipes especially now with all that is going on. Old recipes with substitutions are a godsend to all of us and we all need to learn basic cooking skills and to pass them on to a younger generation that may not know how to make these recipes. Thank you so much Paula, you are doing great !!
Love to see your Chicken and Dumpling recipe Paula ! For me I just like the chicken and dumplings no carrots, or celery just good ole southern Style Dumplings like my momma and mother in law makes .
That’s what I’ve been wanting to see and make as well.
Thomas Hanks thank you ! I am doing well . I hope you are safe and well also 🙂
Me three!!! But, I only eat the dumplins and juices. I leave the chicken for those late to the dumplin party 😂
Ms Paula!!! I just made these for my husband who just came home from deployment thank you so much for this recipe
Pineapple Pinup Thanks to both you and your husband..cause you BOTH served!
Thank you to your husband for serving our country!
I grate my frozen butter. It’s easier than using a pastry cutter. I also put parchment paper on my pan not spray.
Thank you again, Ms. Paula, for sharing another great recipe. You are so generous to do this every day during quarantine for us. I'm going to order some of your biscuit mix because I'm all about convenience!
I would probably do more cooking if I had Ms. Teresa prepping for me. She is wonderful and i know you appreciate her.
Love you Ms. Paula...and you too, Ms. Teresa!! 😊❤
“Grandmas in the house” 💖 I love hearing your family stories. Thank you Paula!
Oh my gosh! This is the one recipe I REALLY wanted to see. I am determined to make a good Southern biscuit and I think I may be like your Grandma...I can bake pies, bread, cakes, you name it, to die for - but the biscuits never bake up as soft and fluffy as the Pillsbury ones my husband loves. Thank you for this, Paula! You are a delight to watch and I love these quarantine RUclips videos SO much more than TV. 💜
Thank you for keeping me sane during the coronavirus! I love hearing your stories while you cook. You've been a true blessing! ❤
I’m a 27 year old with 3 year old twin boys and I love to cook from scratch. I’m considered the family bread maker and biscuits are one of my favorite things to make! My boys request them a lot and as soon as the come out of the oven they seem to disappear! It took me a few batches to perfect but man there is nothin like a made from scratch buttermilk biscuit! I have all my recipes written down by hand on cards that I hope will get passed down one day. Love you Paula!
I was born and raised here in North Carolina. I love to watch and listen to you talk. Reminds me so much of my grandmother, we called her Maw Maw. You're a dying breed, Paula. They don't make 'em like you anymore. God bless you.. Youre a very special lady.

One of the best ways to show your love of family is to provide them with good, home cooking.
My mom made biscuits everyday of her life except the days she gave childbirth until she went to the hospital to die at age 90. Everyone loved her biscuits too. I loved her fried salted pork and buscuit!
I sorry😥😪
Salted Pork a small scoop small heaped up spoon placed inside a heaping tsp of mashed potatoe with egg, then sealed shut & dropped into a boiling pot of water, this was a swedish recipe called
"CREPCROCKET"
I'm not Swedish, but my Ex-husband was, & he told me all about how he missed the old recipe his relatives made.
Sounds like you maybe Swedish the Swedish loved their salted pork.
You know with a little luck you may find a Swedish RUclips Channel. Good Luck
I had a DNA test done, found out I wasnt German, a drop if that, you might want to have a DNA test done to see what all you have, then hire someone to have a Pedigree Chart done, A Pedigree Chart goes back alot farther then a simple so called "Family Tree" & isnt Proffessionally done.
I thought I had Jewish, German, & Black foot AND Cherokee Indian in me, I dont have any of that in me.
Found out I have British in me, & I found out I have just a tiny bit of Arabian & some Italian, & 1/4 Afro American in me. It makes it fun to try new recipes, inviting recipes from back when., & its fun too.
Have a wonderful day.

Have a God Blessed day.
P.S. William came to see me & my Son when my Husnand & I & our Son use to live in Nashville TN a day we will never forget.
Have fun with your Pedigree Chart, be sure you hire a professional it will cost you $300. Unless your related to someone at the genealogical & Historical Society like I am. And have fun with Recipes ...

@@susanspencer9538 small world. I live in Texas but lived in Nashville in the 70s. Beyond the Swedish, I too have English, German, Irish, and Italian in my genetic background. Fun to learn all this!
@@jhb61249 ; Then all you gotta do is get a DNA test to show what kind of English you have, & the Queen come out on a tv show one day & said if any english Royalty one must get a DNA Test to proove it, so thats when I did. Thats why William came to see me.
And this yr I found out if you have Royalty you get some things FREE! I was amazed, & since I "prooved it, my Husband & I can move to Britain with no problems. That part is vey exciting, my husband & I are excited about that. You might beable to do the same after getting a DNA.
I dont have any Irish, & the detective that conducted the DNA test on me told me I dont have any Irish or German or Jewish or Indian in me like my Mom told me I have, I said; "not even German"? He said; "a drop of German if that", which means my Dad isnt really my Dad, because he had alot of German & alot of Irish, his Grandpas Father my Dads Grandpa came right straight from Germany he didnt speak a lick of English & watched my dad play with my Dads Brothers in the Snow, & he hugged my dad one day & said something in German looking down on my Dad. The Uncle separated his Grandpa from him & his family because my Dads Father & Mother was 1st Cousins & they black sheeped my Dad & all 3 of my dads Brothers & his parents. It wasnt that uncommon for 1st Cousins to Marry each other back in the 1930's & 1940's.
But I even though they werent my real grandparents because I have no German or Irish, well a drop of German if that. But either way I loved them.
Princess Diana is 7th Cousins to Charles!!!! So really love is love.
Oh & my dads other Grandpa came right straight from Ireland he spoke Irish, & he had a Irish first name,
"SANDY"!!!
I like the traditions & names everyone uses, related or not.
Maybe when I move to Britain you & I can be friends, & with a little luck neighbors! 💐Save your money the move there is cheap if you go threw certain Airlines & if you jet over with others going the same way I herd its only $99 0r a little more, if your not careful a jet can cost into the thousands. It would be wise to get a duel citizenship my husband says, but i really dont care to ever come back to the no good America.
Have a wonderful day!🍎
Paula, I will definitely be making this soon. I love making biscuits and taught my daughter how when she was young. That last (sometimes over worked) biscuit was always not as perfect looking as the rest, so my artistic daughter would shape that one into a heart and called it the “love biscuit”! To this day her Dad always asks for the love biscuit whenever I make them. I am going to share this recipe with her so she can make them for her own family.
Also, how is your Aunt Peggy? I think of her often and always look for her when you share a video. 💕 & best dishes to you! Stay well!
I put them in my 14" cast iron skillet
Definitely. if I take the trouble to make homemade biscuits or cornbread it's going to be cooked in a caste iron skillet.
I just have to tell y’all, that I’ve been enjoying Mrs Paula’s quarantine cookin so much, ever since the first one, along with everyone else! And I realized something very sweet and meaningful to me. I lost my southern Mama, in 2002. She was such a loving and kind, thoughtful southern belle, and she was only 67 when she went to heaven. I do miss her every day. But y’all, I watch Paula as she stirs her recipe ingredients, and I felt comforted and nostalgic, because she stirs exactly like my Mother did, when I watched her cook! And now, I realized that the way Paula Deen makes her biscuits, and kneads the dough, is the same as my Mama, as well. I’m grateful for your wonderful videos. ☺️❤️🙏🏼You’re kind, talented, yet, got kinda a feisty sense of humor, as my Mama did too, LOL! I’m thinkin’ it’s a southern thang, right?! 😂❤️😎All the best to everyone, and God Bless.

My mouth was watering already, then you got to the FIG PRESERVES. Memories from my childhood favorites... homemade biscuits and fig preserves. My mouth watering, and tears in my eyes. You’re the best, Paula.
I’m well, thank you, Thomas Hanks!
I remember as a kid watching my grandma make homemade biscuits. She would put her flour in a glass bowl and make a well in the middle. Then she'd add a big scoop of lard in that well. Then she added a cup of buttermilk. She took her fingers and started mixing the milk and lard together and then slowly start to incorporate the flour into the lard mixture. She would roll the flour out and use a cup to cut the biscuits out. I always said they were a mile high! The tallest biscuits I've ever seen! We would take butter and white syrup and mix this together. When the biscuits came out of the oven, we would immediately cut them open and spread the sugar/butter mixture on both halves. Heaven indeed!
Good morning, Sweet Southern lady! I can't wait to make these biscuits. I'm so happy to see you're smiling face. Stay safe! ☺ 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 👍
I love watching you cook, bake and just sharing your stories. I sure hope your aunt Peggy is feeling better.
I was wondering if you will still treat us to these great videos once the quarantine is over? You are my favorite time of day watching and learning, and you remind me of my grandma who taught me to cook she was from the south too. She died when I was in my 30's she was my teacher of everything. She took over completely when my mom was taken from us, I was only 17. Watching you reminds me of how much she loved to cook and taught my daughter to make homemade noodles, our family favorite.

I'm so interested in the "old ways" of cooking (knuckles to biscuits, fabric etc). Loved the comment section!
My big mama didn't roll her dough out the dough stayed in bowl and she pinched off the dough shaped biscuit by hand and baked in woodstove
Nanny had a big wooden bowl in her cupboard, with a dishcloth over it. Inside was the flour and leavening ingredients. She would make a little hole in the center of the bowl to pour buttermilk into. Mix up how much flour she wanted and hand form the biscuits. I helped her make baby biscuits with a shot glass! She made a pan of biscuits every day, a pot of grits, some bacon and, and people going to work would make their own eggs when they got up. She made coffee in a percolator. The bacon and the percolator made the whole house smell good! This was in Chattanooga in 1948. Thank you for reading this. I am having to type with a right hand and a left thumb and pointer since a stroke!! Love Paula Deen. She is a hoot! I am 80 now, thought I would not last this long!If I thought I would last this long, I would have taken better care of myself! (Yogi Berra) My favorite was fried corn which is not fried. You all know what I mean, cutting the Silver Queen corn a couple of times and then scraping down all the cobs etc. I would rather have fried corn than anything, even cold! Bye bye.
My son's picture is on my message, I don't know where my picture went to!
I remember mom telling me she was relieved when she started using canned biscuits. I also remember my dad telling my mom to giver him another one of those cat-heads, but I never knew what he was talking about until today! Mom would always baked her for a while, then take them out, pat them down and return them to finish baking. I tell you I loved those things. They were delicious!
Would love to learn how you do fig preserves! A family member made strawberry fig preserves that were “ beyond delicious “!! We had a pear tree in the yard when I was young. The pear tree would be so loaded with fruit, my dad would have to put something under the limbs for support!! Otherwise the limbs would break and fall!! Thank you for bringing back memories I had not thought about in years. I enjoy your show!! Keep on cooking!!!!!😃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I have been begging my mama to show me how to make biscuits for years and she never would show me . All she would say is , you just got to practice. Well , I understood that , but I still needed her to help me get started . My Granny could make the prettiest little biscuits . She had one of those wooden bowls too and she had little hands . I think that's why her biscuits turned out so pretty. She would roll her biscuits out by hand every time . She's passed away now and when she died I asked if I could have her pan that she baked her biscuits up in , so they gave it to me . My family and I call it the Granny pan . lol !! My daughter jokes with me and tells me she's gonna steal my Granny pan one of these days . HAHAHA...!! She is just kidding, but I told her if it's still in good condition when I pass away, she can have it . Thank you Miss Paula for showing me how to make biscuits !! I'm gonna try making me some today . I love you Miss Paula and Miss Teresa !! 😘❤
What a wonderful piece to have and cherish. I’m so glad you thought to ask for her pan, and got it. Often times people say _“I wish I would have asked for that ... “, “I should have taken that tool from papa, and that pot and spatula grandma asked me if I wanted when I was a little kid”. “I should have”_ and _“I wish I”_ are two things people find themselves saying the most after a family member passes. *Always enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will realize they were the big things.*
A clock I have keeps me close to gma who loved Paula!!!

I love hearing you reminisce about your youth and cooking with your grandma and aunts. My grandma cooked Italian but I didn’t watch her.
anyone else catch her sayin "Y'all" exactly at the same time the camera had that "Butter Y'all" yellow butter container perfectly focused!! ??
I love my biscuits with fig preserves too. Now I’m hungry for biscuits🙂
I am so hungry for those biscuits.!!
This video is going to be legendary.
This is kind of what we need to see these days too. Our imperfect southern mama making some sweet buttermilk biscuits right from her kitchen. No filter, no edits.
Those big production edited cooking shows are over now.
"Butter y'all" on the butter LOL I love it
I miss my grandma! She made biscuits just like this. I will try them myself! 💖
My mama always "choked off" meaning pinched off the dough instead of cutting them with a cutter. She also pressed her knuckles into the top of the biscuits. I believe the shape that created and the size was what deemed the name "Cat Head Biscuits".
My Mama did the same. She did make the cat head biscuits that Mrs. Paula talked about!
My granny pinched hers also everything was done with her hands she would get aggravated with me trying to learn i could mix with my hands i used a fork and used Crisco not butter.lol
My grandma made biscuits in a long, wood dough bowl and pressed each biscuit with her knuckles too. With the scraps she made me a goosey biscuit by pinching up one end for a head and pinched the other end up for the tail. So simple, but it thrilled me.

PAULA, A FEW TIPS THAT MAY HELP SOME OF YOUR VIEWERS: FREEZE THE BUTTER & GRATE IT INTO THE FLOUR & STIR TO COAT THE GRATED BUTTER WITH THE FLOUR & AFTER POURING IN THE COLD BUTTERMILK, USE THE ROUND HANDLE OF A LARGE PLASTIC SPOON TO BLEND THE BUTTERMILK EASILY INTO THE FLOUR...OR USE AN OXO “DOUGH WHISK” LOVE THE THIN COILS & THE NICE SILICONE HANDLE, THE THIN COILS LIGHTLY BLENDS THE COLD BUTTERMILK IN PERFECTLY NO TOUGH BISCUITS AT ALL...
I USE A NICE SIZE SPATULA TO CLEAN THE DOUGH FROM AROUND THE BOWL & EASE IT OUT ONTO A FLOURED SURFACE TO GENTLY ROLL THE DOUGH...
MY FINGERS & HANDS ARE BASICALLY DOUGH FREE & USED TO LIGHTLY ROLL THE BISCUITS WITH A LIGHT-WEIGHT, FLOURED ROLLING PIN & ADD SPRINKLES OF FLOUR AS NEEDED, & LIFTING THE CUT BISCUITS ONTO THE LIGHTLY COCONUT OILED PAN & LIKE YOU PAULA I SLATHER THE BISCUITS WELL WITH MELTED GRASS-FED KERRYGOLD GRASS-FED REAL BUTTER & AFTER BAKING, I BRUSH MORE MELTED BUTTER ONTOP OF THE LIGHTLY GOLDEN BUTTERED BISCUITS...
I ENJOYED YOUR LOVELY SMILE, SHARED MEMORIES & LISTENING TO YOU ENCOURAGING ALL OF US TO GET IN THE KITCHEN & PRACTICE MAKING HOMEMADE BISCUITS & REMINDING US, IF WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME TO “”CONTINUE”” PRACTICING BECAUSE THEY WILL IMPROVE & BE DELICIOUS WITH EXPERIENCE ♥️

My nana always pressed her knuckles into the biscuits too. She passed away 20 years ago but seeing you do that made me think of her. I can see her doing that so clearly in my mind. Must be a southern grandma thing :)
MY MOMMA & GRANDMA HAD THE BISCUIT BOWL'S & THEY USED THEIR HAND'S TO MIX & ROLL OUT THE BISCUIT'S TOO. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE LIL TOOLS THAT MADE IT EASIER...& YEP REMEMBER THE CAT HEAD'S TO GO WITH TOMATER GRAVY...NOW THAT WAS SOME GOOD EAT'S..IF WE WAS LUCKY HAD SOME FRIED SALT PORK WITH IT.

Why you typing in caps?
@@dollydotty8848 I'M IN MY 60'S & ALL THIS NEW TO ME & MY DAUGHTER LOCKED IN CAPS SO I CAN SEE LETTER'S BETTER WHEN I TYPE...THANKS
My daddy was a cook in the Navy-WWII. He made the biscuits at our house. They would bring a tear to your eye. I never learned from him, and I regret it deeply.
Boy, I can just taste them through the screen!! I used to make these when I was younger, made them for my husband and kids many years, now I just make them wetter, drop them by spoonfuls...lol..I'm tired now..or let them do it🤣
Hi Paula!! Those look delicious!!!
So, I'm pushing 50 and have never attempted to make homemade biscuits!! It's just always so much easier to pop open a tube of Grands!! 😆 But I think it's due time I give it a try!! I know the end result will be well worth the extra effort!! Store bought could never compare to homemade!! Thank you for sharing!! I am a new subscriber to your channel and I look forward to watching more of your home cooking!!! ❤
Thank you helping us thru these hard times .

Thank you, I am well, and yourself?
I could listen to Paula Deen all-day, I miss me a good Biscuit! I want to order her baking mix, YES!
Paula, you tickle me when you say, "Flouhwa."
My Grandmother had one those wooden dough bowls. I was longer and wider. She raised 4 sons so she was always making biscuits. Have a wonderful week.
Please make your favourite British dish, and what is it? 💕 🇬🇧
Hi Paula!! I still make my biscuits from scratch and they are soooo!! You said that you didn't waste nothing, but I did notice that there was still some dough left on your cloth. You should have made one more biscuit out of it by splitting up the dough from the last one you made and make 2 visits just a tiny bit smaller. Don't waste that biscuits dough. My grandma use to call me originally, cause I liked to eat biscuits dough, and you what, I still eat biscuit dough to this day and I love it and I am 69 years old!! God bless you Paula. Stay safe and healthy!!
Does Teresa live there?
God I hope not.
My Mamaw and Papaw used to just throw their flour down on the kitchen table, and they'd make their biscuits right there without a bowl. It was amazing to watch.
Frozen biscuits at your restaurants
Been there, worked there🥴
You can make homemade biscuits & freeze them, especially when your swerving 500+ people a day or more
This was great! I make home made biscuit mix and keep it in the fridge to grab and throw buttermilk in whenever I need to whip some up! Grating the butter in makes cutting it in much easier! I found this recently and it's an armsaver lol! But you have to grate quick as it melts in your hand!
I probably have 5 recipes I use depending on what I'm in the mood for 😆
And oh my yes! I made fog preserves for the first time last year off my first harvest from my tree....love it!!
