Bridger from @TabletopTitans was in studio and wanted to play the big stompy robots. Tak obliged with the Adeptus Mechanicus and painted up the new Cerastus Knight Lancer for this bout.
These two factions are devastating to each other and we could see destruction at a scale we have not yet seen on 40k in 40m this season. 10th edition Imperial Knights versus Adeptus Mechanicus with allied Knight. 2,000 points. Lists below.

Knights make the game so swingy it drives me crazy but you definitely need to trade Nick and Adrian since you technically both won!
Admech also hitting on 4's with very rare rerolls makes the game swingy. Units have a 50% chance of doing nothing with their low accuracy low volume of fire weapons. Keep in mind admech got absolutely fucked by twinlinked, every lascannon in the army got its shots cut in half. And therefore their damage potential more than halved pared with the bad BS.
You let Bridger play Knights?! You only have yourself to blame...

That was the strangest series of rounds I've ever seen and I loved every bit of it.
First time seeing imperial knights and I have so many mixed feelings.

Last time they were on this channel they tabled Space Marines.
This time they practically tabled knights (one of the strongest factions in the meta right now) in turn 1. Then tabled it in Turn 4, only losing because tabling isn't an autowin, and even then by only 3 points.
I am enjoying playing AdMech right now and was commenting on the latest Metawatch. Just goes to show that stats aren't the whole picture.
Just keep in mind the SM game had a pretty disproportionate amount of bad rolls for the SM player, and this one the Admech list was 100% focused on anti-vehicle
if admech go first they are brutal with the bonus AP, but a lot of their stuff feels expensive for its output and durability. they can definitely still work if the pieces come together, but they can also flub horribly and easily
@@cuboidham I agree, but Admech has always been the “High skill floor” faction, so its to be expected. Def need a points drop though. Maybe, say, 10 points on everything not a character with some units dropping a few points more?
To be fair they brought an Imperial Knight to be a door stop to stop the other group from being able to squish Admech, so I wouldn't call that so much Admech performance.
Are you insane Tak? You let Bridger bring Knights? The only thing you could have done that would've had worse results would have been to let him bring his golden boys.

We like it! We do get a decent amount of digital game sponsorship requests and this one seemed a good fit. You get to paint in the game and the gameplay is very familiar just digital instead.

The orange dice are weighted towards 4+ and the black dice are waited to 3- and I will not be convinced otherwise!! 😂😂

Amazing game. I definitely vote for both "penalties" to be carried out lol.
Depends on what sort of mission you are running, in "Only War" you can win by killing the opposing army rather than by points, points only come into play if both armies are still standing.
I am summarizing here but in Leviathan Chapter Approved Missions it is:
End of Battle
If a player no longer has any models remaining the other player may continue to play.
Determine Winner
Based on points.

One of the things I'm interested in for this edition, is the allied units. I'm not sure if Mechanicus gets Knights as a unit, or if its still an "allied unit," but its nice to see Knights with the Admech.

Love the paint on the Knights, my favorite is the purple one.
This will get lost in the void but the word onager is pronounced with a soft g. It has a real meaning too - it's a ancient Roman seige weapon. I love these 40k videos you all make so much, and I will continue to binge until there are none left, but every time you all say onager I twitch. (p.s. If this is some Warhammer lore thing then I stand corrected)
Appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Between the English language already being the way it is, and then mixing in people's dialects and accents, I know we can't be accurate for everyone. Then there is also the problem of being accurate, but not being the popularized way of saying something to an audience or region. It is an uphill battle but we always appreciate these suggestions.

Haha, I love rules, but I still think when you are tabled, it's over.
There is a Core Rule Book Mission that nets you a win if you table your opponent. I think it works well as an option but not as a general rule because if two players decide they are okay with it and can have fun with it, great. I think what points based victories does for the game generally is mitigate certain hyper aggressive lists or play styles that may not be fun for an opponent.

It's kind of funny that last week, I made a deck exactly like this but the orange paladin was replaced with a warden. Its a very versitile deck, and does well against most, except for the mechanicus.

Don't forget the +2 dice for tank shock when the strength of your weapon is higher than their toughness!!
Bridger used tank shock a couple of times I think. The Cerastus Knight Lancer never got to use it as it didn't make any charges.
@@PlayOnTabletop it's easy to forget the bonus, especially when you're used to S14 and 20 weapons...I usually don't realize I forgot it until the post-game wrap up

This video just goes to show how powerful AdMech gets when they go first. It's like an 80% swing, though I'm probably misusing that statistic, the difference is massive for this army more than any other.
@@Quin-du6gl First turn swing means that going first alone has a significant impact on the course of the game. It's noticeable with AdMech.

I thought that all enemy models being removed resulted in an automatic win?
In a Leviathan Chapter Approved Mission, which is what we played, it states that if a player no longer has models the other player can continue to play out the turns and when it comes to determining a winner it is based on points. There is a Core Rule Book mission where tabling your opponent results in a victory but I think that mission is geared towards being aggressive.
Question: where'd you get the faceplate for the Castellan? Looks amazing!
