Bruh. I can see plat losing to 2 maybe even 3 cards…but to the CSR??😵 CSR is arguably the worst travel card out there. Certainly of “premium” cards. In fact a strong and easy argument can be made CSR is not even in Chase top 3 best travel cards list. How am I gonna explain losing the house on this tourney to all the freeloaders who stay here?? Make it make sense.
I agree on the CSRs placement in the chase line up. CSP is miles better simply due to the price difference. Platinum has had too many negative changes. The sky club restrictions coming, rumored fee hikes, the digital credit taking a few hits... think it's platinum fatigue more than anything
@@RJFinancial yeah. This tourney is the plebs chance to stick it to the bank that is requiring them to provide MORE engagement and $$$. But ppl need to actually cancel their cards and let bank know why, and go onto Reddit/SM also (employees do read). As for me the only Amex card I will have is plat..at least until I complete my foreign travels in 2025. Then close and open BCE. in principal I don’t mind prepaying for benefits/coupons…as long as it’s for stuff expand use and value. But Disney, Walmart, equinox, saks, Lyft pink, DoorDash, citibike forget all that 💩
How's the custom cash getting so much love,it's a 1 category card that forces you to have multiple cards for it to even make sense, a regular 2% card is way more superior
Because for many people here it can be whatever card they need it to be. If you did this same survey for the average person, the custom cash would never do this well. My guess any way
I thought about switching my Citi Premier to the Custom Cash or Citi Rewards+ for no AF, but after some thought neither card is really that good compared to the Citi Premier. The word is the Citi Premier has some solid revamps coming later this year.
Gold vs Bilt was closer than I thought. Combined with the Platinum's early loss, shows how these charge cards are losing mass devotion. BTW, I've heard a couple channels promote the cruise benefits on the Platinum recently. In the cruising world, $100 - $300 + a plate of chocolate covered strawberries is chump change. Costco gives 8% back, plus you can use a card with much better earnings and travel protections.
Gold is in an add spot because it's not really a travel card on its own. It is funny the things we'll do to move cards. I've also wondered why cruise lines don't have more competitive card programs
@@micahhord4032 Yeah I'm late to the party. Six months ago we were Delta loyalists overspending on their card, with business and personal Gold cards, Amex Platinum, ignoring Hyatt completely. Now we have a Hilton trifecta, Venture X, Alaska Business, and of course BILT. I should have done this 3 years ago when BILT first came out, and Alaska joined Oneworld Alliance.
I just got in with US Bank after many tries and denials ha. I went the secured route and grabbed the US Bank Altitude Go it will graduate in a year and I will have a solid Visa Signature in my wallet. I hear having a US Bank card on your credit profile is beneficial don’t know how true that is but I’m in! ✊
Some of the matchups last week were tough matchups. I know I struggled a little bit with how I voted on them. On the cash back side, I have six of the eight cards. The only two I don't have are the Amazon Prime card and the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card. I was a little surprised in the first matchup because I think the US Bank Cash+ is a little bit better than the Citi Custom Cash. However, I think the US Bank cards are underrated and it's probably because of their strict approvals. On the travel side, I know some of the cards I voted for did not make it. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Amex Platinum card, I think it's better than the Chase Sapphire Reserve. I think the Sapphire Reserve needs to be refreshed to make it a better premium travel card. Thank you for doing this tournament! I'll look forward to next weeks video!
My guess is the custom cash does so well here because for many of us it's a "whatever we want it to be card'. The argument against it is that custom cash has one trick as where Cash+ has a few. But most of us have all the categories covered, making custom cash that much more useful
As always great matchups and series! Surprised to see the Platinum go away against the worst Premium Travel card in the game. AMEX Gold Vs Venture X is an interesting match! Keep up the great work RJ!🫵

Submitted my votes! Outcome of the cash back region was to be expected!
Agreed. This round is a little harder for me, owning and using most of these cards
@@RJFinancial was redstone FCU visa signature card listed? i think it likely is best cash back card in game. I will get once i finally hit 5/24.

Here we gooo!! No spoilers in the comments guys
Thanks for the info + video!
Looking forward to the CSP vs CSR matchup in the next round!

“Coupon simping”, funny 😄. The Plat being eliminated in this round is the biggest upset to me.
Lol it feels like all the coupon justification comes off that way to me
Based RJ
I'm disturbed but not altogether surprised by these results
Lol that's fair. The Platinum did surprise me and the popularity of the custom cash
Vote custom cash for the win
Have nothing to vote for in that wipeout round.

@RJFinancial fair point, cause im guessing most people arent out here ,rotating and categorizing their deck of cards 🤣

@shawn.credit as a stand alone card,i wouldn't switch,that card is practically 3x on everything
Hell yeah

BILT got robbed. As Travel credit card with no fees, it’s the most underrated card for people with low spending and who travel 1-2 times a year.

Agree that I haven't heard why it would benefit you more. But they are nice cards so congrats on the pickup!

Let's go! 🎉
I love this tournament!
Thanks for playing!
Sad to see freedom unlimited go😢
Until Chase gives it the 2x everyone wants, I think it'll be under matched

Gold is interesting because on its own, it's not a travel card. That could hurt it
