Honestly I just love that the final 4 cash back cards only had one cash back card!!!! No way the setup CSP wins against the VX.
So what you're really saying is... the best travel cards also have to offer good cash back perks to be loved?

I know categories boooo but we flexers are getting 7x on dining or 5x points on Amazon for quarter 2. 3x on dining is probably the most underrated thing about the card. I do wish the chase freedom unlimited was 2x on everything that would make it an okay grocery card. Or the chase sapphire preferred needs imo to cut the travel credit eliminate the non chase travel and streaming categories and place them with 3x all groceries not online only 😂😂😂and 3x on gas heating oil electric whatever category.

I still think that Bank of America credit cards are the best cash back cards as a set if you have platinum honors status. Citi Custom Cash is slightly better individually since it has supermarket as a category.
My BofA cards are becoming my most used cards with Platinum status. Thing that hurts them is you need $100k to make them as competitive as banks of equal sizes regular cards.
@@RJFinancial The $100k can be investments in a brokerage account in Merrill Edge, so it's not too bad, especially since there's a $700 (max) transfer bonus to Merrill Edge. I did it when they had a $1000 transfer bonus.
Gold is travel card, just not a good one, it has 3x flights category

It will be interesting to see the final 2 because it could very well be the two cards that make up the Capital One Duo going head to head with each other. One the cash back side, I did vote for the Citi Custom Cash because of the flexibility there is with the 5% category and the redemption methods for the rewards. I can see why some people would vote for the Amazon Prime card. I think it is a great card, too. The Freedom Flex against the SavorOne card was a surprise to me. I did vote for the Freedom Flex over the SavorOne card, but I can definitely see where people would choose the SavorOne card over the other. That was the most difficult matchup for me on the cash back side when I was voting. On the travel side, I am a little surprised that the Venture X is doing so well, considering the changes that it has undergone over the last year. I am happy that the Sapphire Preferred beat the Sapphire Reserve. The Preferred seems like a better value to me than the Reserve and i like the fact that the CSP has a much lower annual fee over the CSR.
Chase is becoming the Bills of this tournament. Cap one upset surprised me as well.

Maybe but USB is the problem. The redemptions are harder, approvals are harder, no combining points in a useful way... all that adds up to an L in my opinion
It does have a higher cap ($2,000 or $666 a month on average) that you don't have to use all in one month, you have the whole quarter to use verses Citi's $500 a month. Plus you can go with two categories.
@@RJFinancial true but if you just want a pure cash back card USB is the better option imo. Especially considering Citi has a 500$ limit per month as opposed to a 2k combined quarterly limit with USB not to mention being able to get 5% on utilities which is a major expense for a lot of people.

I'll go deeper on Sunday show. I think it's fine. Not unreasonable to tie it to the paid service. I also think Robinhood gold does come with enough as is that it could be justified. I won't be getting the card because there's no intro offer and the goal is 5x as you know

@@RJFinancialI’m totally gonna do this. Been waiting for Citi double cash to have a welcome bonus again. And now instead of $150 it’s $200. Might grab it, but whenever i do i will PC it to CCC after first year regardless. Great strategy. New 0% APR 2% card with a welcome offer and end up with two 5% category top spend cards. Beautiful. 🤌

The Custom Cash is so overrated. It’s a one trick pony. The Amazon card is way more flexible.
I cannot bring myself to buy a Prime membership. I’m not super busy with Amazon services, just a couple times a year I use Amazon to buy things like Christmas & whatever.
Funny part is that I do Amazon Flex delivery along with other gig work.
Vehemently disagree. Ua flights booked via avianca or nice(r) choice hotels at 1:2. That's 5 ua or 10 choice ppd on your top spend category (5k/month on 500$ spend, and actually 5.5/11 with r+) Depending on what I'm buying from Amazon, as long as i don't need ext warranty, I'm using vgcs from od/om from the ink cash 5x anyway, if i do need it, citi premier all day. Much like the costco or apple cards, there are very few people who the amzn card makes sense for. Not saying you're not one of them, but aside from the venmo card, those types of cards are for when you've already gotten EVERYTHING else (unless you're deep into MS or just happen to spend ungodly amounts at amzn, apple, costco, sams etc). Just my opinion, whatever that's worth and obviously, ymmv
kinda depends on your lifestyle some people dont have amazon prime and you can only get that card if you have prime so that alone kinda limits the cards potential compared to the citi cc, yes youre only going to get 1 category at 5% but in the grand scheme the citi is more versatile and has a better sign up bonus
I voted Prime myself. The custom cash has surprised me this year, even with the explanation I gave. Didn't see it coming
@@RJFinancial yeah prime is the better option for those already utilizing prime accounts, however taking into account the prime card technically has an annual/ monthly fee that made me ultimately choose Citi

Only travel CCs I think as good as plat (at what they supposed to do) is VX, CSP…if journey had primary insurance I’d put it up there. Maybe #1b 🤔…like u said plat is a class of its own.
