Homelink option is available for the GRC. I believe its Toyota PN: PT37400210. It's a quick bolt on part with no harness and uses a single-use battery which, unfortunately, can't be replaced. But a source tells me it's rated for 8-10 years of use. If you want to go the extra mile and actually plug a constant powered homelink, there is a user in the forums that was able to splice into the existing harness up top with some wire taps, and the homelink he used also has auto-dimming feature as well.
I own a gr Corolla as well and you are spot on with the fuel economy. I drive 80 miles round trip to work freeway 85 mph and I get 25 mpg. Rpm at 85 mph is around 3500rpm. Very short gearing not good for freeway driving. My 2023 Camaro SS 1le 10 spd gets 24 mpg.
23.4 mpg for beating this AWD car 24/7 is not bad. Lol. Im surprised its not under 18 with that kinda of hooning. My Mustang GT was 18 or 20 IIRC, I averaged 14 over 50k miles

When you shut the car off it gives you a avg mpg for that drive and the highest I’ve seen was 38 for the drive total. I was crusing on the interstate one time and I reset my MPG to see what my average was for just on the highway (not including side streets with street lights and whatnot. And it was 42. Granted I was driving like a grandma with my cruise control set in eco but still very impressive overall. Around town though in n mode (track) I will average like 16 lol
Dude! I've had my GR (white core) for a couple months now, and was exciting about the wireless charger! You are right, even on a smooth road the phone will just slide and then stop charging, you'd seriously need to have the car parked to use it 😂I have been thinking about modifying it somehow so it's actually functional!
I own a GR Corolla Core base so I don’t have that wireless charger or heated seat button but yes that break dust is for sure. But performance breaks do that.. still love it.. on highway I get 27 mpg to 30 mpg my average so far is 24.5 with city driving on 93 octane only have 3100 mile so far. Love my GR so far. I wash my car weekly so I keep it clean.
Toyota does have a frameless mirror with homelink that you can buy for the GR, but it is battery powered and I do not know how you replace the batteries. Totally agree about the armrest omission and brake dust. Not sure why they had to position the battery the way they did, it robs a load of trunk space. All that said, it is an awesome daily!
I tried out the eco mode in my GRC. I got about 35 mpg on the highway and about 25 city if you aren't revving the piss out of it. Definitely kills the power quite a bit since the boost gets limited. I really only use it if I am driving long distance or once I am at speed on a highway. Sport mode the way to go in most cases.
Que ceramic coating won't really help brake dust brother man. Especially on Brembo brakes lol. I have the same issue with my R.. Only way IMO is to get ceramic breake pads...
I like the shifter in the integra more for one reason. I like the Corollas shifter too but it is inconsistent with the shifting feel. It’s not always 100% reproducible like the Integra. Sometimes the shifts are crisp and sometimes they aren’t.
The fuel economy I’d take just for awd. People don’t understand how appreciating awd is when it just rains. Trying to pull out of somewhere with a simply tuned fwd or full bolt on can be a pain.
I have a Supersonic Red GR Corolla Circuit Edition in 🇨🇦. While my wife and I thoroughly enjoy the car there are some things that aren’t the greatest… I hate the volume knob on the screen but I’m happy that there is a volume knob to hate 😂. I don’t particularly like the cruise control setup and I prefer to have the little stock behind the steering wheel like in my 2016 4Runner but the 4Runner doesn’t have all the fancy adaptive cruise control stuff and it could’ve changed on newer 4runners also but I still prefer to have it behind and on the bottom right of the steering wheel with the little stick style. I can see what you mean by the buttons on the steering wheel feeling a bit cheap but I’m ok with them for the most part. I would like the back doors to open a little more to make it easier to get my 3.5 year old in to his car seat. This is a complaint against all screens that just stick out of the dash and aren’t incorporated nicely but that’s majority of vehicles unfortunately…as you can tell from what I’m complaining about, I’m a bit old school even thought I’m not THAT old 😂 (42 years old). I just don’t like tech for the sake of adding tech when it actually takes away from the ease of use and accessibility of things. You should be concentrating on driving and not diving in to menus to get stuff accomplished but too many buttons are also annoying…at times I can contradict myself. My wife doesn’t like that the clutch release point is so high and prefers a lower release and if you have to drive on bumpy roads 1st gear can make it seem like you don’t know how to drive a manual car 😂. I agree that the wireless charger is HORRIBLE and the location isn’t ideal. I don’t like piano or gloss black on the interior and exterior…in 🇨🇦 our front and rear grille and rear diffuser I’ll call it 🤔 aren’t gloss black like 🇺🇸 It’s small things but we still enjoy it a lot and I don’t feel that most of my complaints take away from what the car is meant for…the joy of driving.

I know it’s a different engine in a big way, but Toyota has the capability of making something that can do 300 hp and get 35 highway. My 718 T Porsche gets mid 30’s highway.

In city traffic I get like 22 on my Kona N. On the highway though I can get around 36 if I’m just cruising

You can def get homelink, unfortunately, its a separate option, which you'd think would be standard on premium trims.

After 3000 miles or so I'm getting over 27 MPG in my GRC.
The dust is coming from the rotors too since they are slotted. The slots makes the pads wear out faster

That Golf R ticks a lot of boxes for me. Sunroof and ventilated seats too. The block for this 1.6L is really solid. The walls are very thicc

Kills fuel economy, but great for performace. A camero will have its backend sliding out while a GR corolla will already be past the turn.
