Can we just take a moment to appreciate Princeps Enoch. Gets his orders, raises concerns, and the accepts Titus's arguments without quibbling. Recognizes that the job needs to be done and does it even if he doesn't like it all that much.
From what I've learned from the books, Enoch is is truly a special kind of Princeps. Usually, they would balk at taking orders from an Astartes Captain.
I think both voice actors for Titus reflect him well within the story, here Titus is younger, his voice softer, noble yet firm. The older Titus in Space Marine 2 is gruffer, heavier, and reflects not just his age, but his mental exhaustion having been assigned to the deathwatch and the persistent accusations of heresy thrown at him.
@@ravioliravioligivemethefor5882 And he suddenly somehow have a smoker's voice or someone screaming bloody murder for a voice. Nah, it is canon that he got tortured by Thrax. He's no Teenager for 100+ years to have this sudden voice change.
With the new Space Marine II game, what we need now is Warhammer 40K: The Guardsman. The set-up is that the player is the lone survivor of an Imperial Guard regiment that was been wiped out while fighting some xenos (we've fought Orks and Tyranids, so this time it can be Necrons). He is saved only by the arrival of a company of Astartes. The Guardsman is unable to contact the higher echelons of the Imperial Guard, so he takes his trusty lasgun and tags along with the Astartes. Initially, the Astartes consider him to be little better than a mascot with a lasgun, and if he tries to tank anything it results in the player having to reload from the most recent save. However, because he isn't wearing half a ton of armor he is able to move with a stealth that the Astartes can only dream about, and his lasgun by its nature is able to damage targets protected by force fields that are impenetrable to bolter and plasma fire, and this enables him to provide key support at critical times. From time to time he comes across damaged I.G. vehicles which the Astartes cannot operate (because they cannot fit through the hatch into the crew compartment), and after repairing them he is somewhat more effective for brief periods. However, the vehicle soon draws enemy fire and he has to bail out in order to avoid having to reload from the previous save. As the game progresses he gains the respect of the Astartes. This is mostly reflected in comments they make when he dies. Early on they say things like, "Not very useful, are they," progressing to less dismissive comments like, "He died doing his duty," "If they were all that brave their commissars wouldn't have to shoot them," and so forth. One of the game achievements is to hear each of these comments at least once. And because nothing about WH40K is complete without a good dose of gallows humor, the Astartes will also comment if the player has to reload the game too often. "Wait, weren't you dead a minute ago?" At the end of the game he is reunited with the Imperial Guard. The lieutenant over the Astartes company commends him to his new superiors, and he is awarded the Order of the Empire, Third class. ("Well, you didn't die, so First Class is out, and you're still in one piece, so Second Class is out, too.")
I love how Space Marine 2 has it's own feel and look. Space Marine looks more like a God of War spinoff which is understandable given that God of War 3 released a year prior to Space Marine.

This was such a letdown. You finally get to the Titan, and all it does is a walk a bit, and fire ONCE. There should have been a section where you get to pilot and crush enemies, including Orkboyz.
absolutely not lmao, princeps are beyond important. only about 1 in 1 billion can actually pilot a titan. Considering that even just interfacing with the machine spirit kills most trainees. Titans are absurdly important for morale and the imperium defense
Not even close. Most likely his titan, crew, and himself was secured and placed back into service. The situation did not dictate punishment for saving a forge world.
So heres the thing right...just how much heat does that put out? There was an insert where a guardsman battalion was walking by the legs, protecting it from other infantry. When fired it caused 3rd degree burns on all people up to about a mile away, on both sides unfortunately... Theres a reason these arent deployed often, not because theyre VERY intensive and expensive, but because its own munitions going off reeks havoc for both Imperium and Heratic alike.
@@demondeity9816 dreadnought and titan are different beings search em up, also machine spirit isn't Ai, they are a rather strange being, even a lasgun have a machine spirit, which differ from Ai, but can influence on the machine on some seemingly random and luck based occurrences
Titans are given some leeway in regards to the matter of AI being banned. Titan machine spirits are never directly confirmed to be AI, but it's often hinted in many stories that they are in fact restrained AIs, often with animalistic intelligences. There are a fair number of stories in which Princeps, the pilots of Titans, have experienced emotional impressions from the Titan that they command, as well as some Titans have on rare occasions acted under their own power. There was even one story in which it was described that Titans often become restless while in transit to a new world, moving without anyone controlling them and yearning to be taken into battle. There was even one story where a Titan that had been involved in the Horus Heresy effectively experienced nightmares from the Heresy while it was slumbering, and blasted a hole in the side of the ship that was transporting it with its plasma gun as a reaction to the nightmares. Titans are also generally piloted, with a crew size dependent upon how large of a Titan it is. A Warhound Titan, for example, will generally be piloted by a single Princeps while a larger Titan like a Warlord will generally have a Princeps and a team of Moderati to handle the weapons systems.
