everything about their relationship I love, how he is older, their height difference, he has such a soft spot for her, childhood friends to lovers.literally everything!
He just cant right now give her what she wants. And he knows, and is still trying though for her. In the books I also thought he was playing too many games with her. But now that we saw more from his perspective, I think he is super honest about her, and keeps distance because he is too fucked up with other stuff right now. Its just not the right time right now, but theyre definetly meant to be.
Yes, I have the exact same feeling. I thought Conrad was playing games with her in the book. But in the series, I had so much more sympathy for him. He cares, but he's hurt. He wants the best for Belly and lets her go (to the extent that he can let go of her). I reread the book and I had another perspective on his character and I loved it.
I immediately understood his situation both in show and in the book. He even explained that he was not the most sane choice at that time. He was most sensible and reserved one in the group. Jeremiah could lash everything all out and it would be fine for him but Conrad bottled everything inside to save others from the same thing. Belly and Conrad definitely were meant for each other but their timing was terrible. Jeremiah and Belly always rushed things up and it ended things badly. Conrad could foresee things well that's why he distanced himself so he could work up on his issues and meet them when he's stable enough. That's exactly what he did in the last book. Both him and Belly meet again and married when they've sorted out their situation. Conrad even asked Belly to not marry Jeremiah because he knew they were just rushing things up instead of working on their issues.
i remember when i first saw this scene and literally felt so gitty and excited when Conrad texted her. i never have that feeling when it comes to Jeremiah.
It's the way their scenes are so intimate and deep. I'm not say Belly doesn't have chemistry with Jeremiah, but it's something much more lighthearted and young. Conrad and Belly are just so vulnerable and real with each other. SEASON 2 WILL DESTROY ME 😭😭 Book Spoiler: Jere and Belly just jumped right into something being so young and unexperienced, which is why they fell apart. Conrad and Belly learned and grew from their teen years to find their way back to each other. Like their song, This Love, says "When you're young, you just run but you come back to what you need." AND HE SAID HE NEEDS BELLY AHH IT'S JUST SO PERFECT.
The way he says he does the wrong thing when it comes to her, i can’t. People don’t understand that he’s dealing with stuff and doesn’t want to mess up more relationships with people cause he’s losing his mum and doesn’t want to lose more people in his life.
If feel like he wanted to cry so much you could look in his eyes and tell and he was like I hate myself so much and why did I wait so late I love her and she will never know
I think this is such a sad scene on so many levels. Taylor told him to let Belly go in the scene before and he recognised he needed to do that, to save her. He’s trying desperately to let her go. Giving her the necklace as a final act of release. But they keep leaning into one another, knowing how much they connect. Both are so heartbroken to part at the end of this scene. Both choosing to part, but still desperately sad 😢
Taylor did the exact same thing in the third book too when he was actually planning to run away with Belly from the wedding 😂 hence he dropped the idea of persuading Belly once again.
Am I the only one who just realized that when Conrad text her are you up, that he never said where he was and Belly just knew where to go to find him. It’s subtle things like that makes me feel like they are connected on a deeper level.
This scene would have been so filled with butterflies if when Conrad said, “I just… I…” and got closer to her he actually leaned down and kissed her. I mean, thinking about it rationally, Belly would probably have been upset by that, but *hypothetically*!! And then when she’s all surprised he says, “I don’t want to lose you.” Just… eeegh!! 🦋✨
I didnt understand how people said jere did her better. He is such a jerk too. He excatly know belly and conrad want eachother but jere always try ruin their moment because of jealously. Conrad give anything for his bro but jere didnt, he so selfish and always talked bad about conrad (if you read the book). Jere is nice but jere-belly have bestie vibes.
In book Jeremiah was relevant however in the series its awkward and all over the place. belly doesn't even have 0.0001 feelings about him from the beginning and when they kissed all of a sudden without any buildup it felt like conrad deserve way better than her...which shouldn't be the case. I am not saying it should be exactly like book but atleast the character should held same amount of intriguity if not more or like they did with conrad.
same. despite all the bullshit that conrad was going through, he could’ve just communicated that instead of being a jerk. not even give the full details but just simply not be an asshole about it?? it was his choice to hurt her feelings just to keep that distance between him and belly and it wasn’t the right way to handle it. there’s so much power in her swerving all of conrad’s advances when she finally told herself she wouldn’t wait for him anymore… for the bigger picture of things. I don’t get why people don’t see how empowering of belly that is
@BearyCity and then he the third he treats her better. Book 1 book 2 and book 3 serve the amount of angst that can be shown next season or season 3. I mean Jere was never better in Book 2 or 3 anyways. Belly just overall deserves more

Her and Conrad have something so deep and intimate way beyond anything her and Jeremiah have
Exactly and people don’t realise that jer was never the good choice .
Omg exactly, I so hope they are endgame in the show as well
@BearyCity yea but he was going through a lot and he actually really cares about her you can see it by the way he looks at her
@BearyCity what did he do to her in the second book?
@BearyCity damn I did not know that .

I’m sorry I’ve never watched the show. What did he do?

Why Was I Lowkey Crying When I watched this😢
Conrad and Belly are more about LOVE ND AFFECTION they have for each other while her and Jeremiah are more about LUST.
Damn the first time I blame Jeremiah but come on she wanted that Kiss.
But she doesn’t deserve Jeremiah
@@disneychannelamv1214 I never like her with Jeremiah in the books.

okay obviously conrad is great but the "u up?" text is unfortunate
Szn 2 is going to break me watching them😔❤️

Well much of the changes that are made in show (at least in the first season) the author of the book was involved.
Idk I am glad she walked away

Belly was expecting more from Conrad at that tym, like something more serious than I don't wanna loose u. That's y she rejected him at that moment.
I can’t really tell what does she do with the necklace
neither that’s what i wanted to know as well
I think conrad and belly was the main character
I would break, right there in that second
Does she keep the necklace or not?
i guess we’ll have to find out next season cause it doesn’t look like she gives it back to him but she doesn’t look like she’s holding it either
