YO Family, so here is my honest personal opinion on my 3 months ownership of the new Toyota Corolla GR EXCEL HYBRID. 5 Things that I liked and disliked about this car.

I can't believe you didn't mention how good the car looks, in the US they do hardly any mods and it looks badass
Yeah its true they make their Corollas awesome however, they have a different platform. different engine.

Good points👍, the car is great and it’s not slow at all, actually it’s very nippy around town but don’t expect golf R performance. Rear leg room is the biggest negative, the boot is of regular size plus rear seats fold down flat on that version and it’s very easy to load large things.
yeah defo not on the same level as a GOLF R ... however its more a fair comparison with a GTE maybe .

HI I like the review I'm going to get me one as my last car died a few weeks ago, I do alot of travelling with filming equipment ect, I'm getting the 1.8 Engine as I do want the extra space In the boot. Great review again 👏🏾 👌🏾 👍🏿

Great video. Disappointed with the leg room in the rear of this car. Impressed with mileage on a full tank and feel more at ease to know maintaining a vehicle like this is not so daunting.

Yes it will.. i used to let go of the steering wheel and the car will keeps its self in the lane and after a short time the dash will flash to say hold the wheel haha

To be fair, coming from a 400bhp Golf this it will feel slow, near everythig felt slow to me when I owned 610 bhp FT RX7 3 rota Mazda, horses for courses I suppose .
I have the 1.8 Corolla excel 2020 that has no rear leg room for a car of its size,also the boot is small even though the battery is under the bonnet.The biggest thing in the boot is the parcel shelf which gets in your face every time you put shopping cases etc in the boot.Plus the boot light and the horn are piss poor.😢

thanks for your input. personally I've never had any issues but that's solely because i get brand new hybrids every 6 months so never needed to do maintenance on them.

Thanks for your feedback!! Well if im honest as the corolla is only a few years old and so reliable no major issues have occurred yet ! Well within my branch anyways also for me i have only had the car for 2000 miles so the car is a baby 😅😅
Get the Touring Sports version. Loads more room!! And looks better!
Corolla zr hybrid has the 12v battery so when you open the hood on the left your 12v battery is there so zr is better and it's a Japan and au version

Hi . I have been offered the 1.8 icon tech as a company car. i can drive up to 500 mile round trips. can it overtake with ease? whats the max speed etc. im not a speed freak but drive between 75 and 82 ish...I could get the 2 litre but its 80 pounds more a month.

Depends ON your budget but if you can ideally go for the 2.0 Hybrid defo more power is needed

Dislike - "It's too quiet" 4:26. Like - "It's really quiet" 8:20 WTF?
appreciate that yours was a 2.0 ltr but I'm interested to know if the1.8 vvt struggles to get up to motorway speedas is only 121 BHP? Im coming from a 180BHP leon 1.8FR which I know it will never match but dont want to be too disappointed.
Hmmm ive had the 1.8 Toyota Auris hybrid (140bhp) and the Toyota 1.8 CHR hybrid and they’re so slow at 122 bhp im gonna stick to promoting the new 2.0 hybrid engines Toyota has introduced in their new models its best for fuel and power
@@yashofficial___ nearly bought one but decided to go for the Seat leon E hybrid Fr instead. the corolla Gr sport was very nice andticked all the boxes but added an extra 2K on my lease scheme. the corolla tech icon is a nice car and fuel economy was outstanding but bit plain for me didnt likethe standard 15 inch alloys and plain interior. the seat leon fr E hybrid has pretty much all of the same features bar the reversing camera. but has17 inch alloys a better display, infotainment system/ screen privacy glass and isa plug in too

In europe we have the 2.0l what is capable to go under 8s and 0-60 (red light) it smashes everything in its class and not only.

At no point did you 'own' the car that's why it's called a 'company car'. The company could have taken the car from you at any point. Slow overall , just quick from 0-30mph as i said at the traffic lights
Don't forget, it's too quiet (4:26) but it's also nice and quiet (8:20). Something tells me the car just isn't meant for a guy like him.
