- It's a special life choice that only a few people make. I have been so interested to have a conversation like this for years. During my bike trip around Europe I got to sit down with two sisters of the Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary and hear more about what brought them to this decision and what challenges they faced within this path.
You can find more information about the sisterhood here:

I would be interested to know: Do they stay at the monastery until
they die or do they retire to a different setting? And is there sisters of all ages, do they see a new generating of women joining as well?
From what I know they do stay there until the end of their life’s and I have witnessed with how much love they take care of each other ❤️ when it comes to the question of age I don’t think I can give you a qualified feedback but most of the sisters I have met I would say were above the age of 50.
Yes, we do stay in the Monastery until death. Monasteries have cloister and stability as some of the many elements of this special vocation in the church. Sure, many monasteries especially here in Africa have a new generation each year. For example in our Monastery we have vocations as young as 20's and as old as 90's. Some are in their 30's, 40's, 50's....etc. Many young people still keep writing to us, to mean that this trend of new generations will continue. God bless.
@@annekuria1289 which monastery? Where in Africa? If in Kenya, which city? Please let me know.
Have you gone on The Camino?
No but I am planning on it towards the end of my trip :) have you done it before?
Are you a Catholic?
No but I visited a Catholic Church in the beginning of my trip and really enjoyed it so much! How about you? :)
@@RootedAsOne Oh ok! Yeah I am. Just wondered as I was recommended your video and couldn't figure out if these sisters were Catholic nuns.
Hope you get to visit some more Catholic Churches on your cycling adventures. 😊
The Evangelical Sisters of Mary are Protestant. Many of them have roots in the Lutheran church
