- As we shift our efforts deeper into the timber and focus on bedding areas, we are seeing more buck activity as they search for the first hot doe. Ethan had the buck he is hunting at 18 yards and intern Alex shot a buck in Minnesota. We will detail both encounters in this episode. You can see how things played out for our team. Focus on stands deeper in the timber now. Good luck. This coming week should be really good.
Thanks for taking us along on the Hunts and congratulations on the Minnesota buck. I sat one time over a week ago and my back went out so I'm still out of commission but I appreciate you taking us along vicariously! Thanks and good luck in the coming days!
Thanks Joe. Sorry about the back. Hopefully it gets better soon. I had back issues for at least 20 years and then I started deadlifting (using perfect form and starting light) and that cured the problem. If it is not something major, that might be enough to fix this problem. Good luck.
I know one thing, even if you happen not to tag a deer, you sure do have some beautiful scenery to enjoy!
That is the best part of this farm right now. Very scenic. Eventually, I believe it will produce some good bucks too - there are lots of nice young ones on the place right now, but very, very few mature bucks. Good luck.
you have good 10pt genetics@@bill-winke
that and yearling spikes! 😊
Just smoked a buck, waiting in stand to give him time. Heard him crash. Killing time watching hunting with Bill👍👍.....
And now I found him!
Heavy 8!👍👍
Nice😂
Bill, you're doing it right brother. It so refreshing to watch real hunting and not this other crap they call hunting. You keep it 💯 real and educational all the time, good luck💪
Absolutely love the new direction you have to talk with your channel! I’m still plugging away praying and hoping for good opportunity to get a mature deer
Great update Bill, filled my Wisconsin tag on Saturday morning. You guys keep up the great work.
Thanks Mitchell and congrats to you! Have a great day.
Just had a huge warm front come through here in Indiana…. Been in the high 70’s all week. Hoping to have some good luck once it cools down again
I love seeing such a real Representation of hunting. I'm after a ghost as well in Michigan. Thanks for the great content and good luck to you and the crew!
Thanks for the comment and good luck to you. We appreciate the support.
I enjoy the daily format of these videos.... YOU ARE THE MAN..... STILL... you and jared...
Thanks Old Friend... Much appreciated. Hope you are well and successful. Have a great day.
Loving the montage and editing work!
I spend a lot of time hunting for the amount of times I actually get something so you just have to be persistent. Coyotes are such a problem...not only in the situation of that hunt but also fawn and pheasant survival. Glad all the hard work paid off with the buck in Minn and wishing the best of hunting success for you men in Iowa.
Thank you, it was definitely rewarding! Except for the coyotes… appreciate the support!
Thanks for the comment Takur. Have a great day and good luck.
Really enjoying the opening montages. Great work! Here in South Central Iowa, my cameras were popping with almost daylight mature bucks on many of them right around Oct. 31. However, everything shut down as soon as the wind totally dropped. Getting does and yearling bucks but nothing else either in person or on cameras. Super slow this past weekend. End of this week has a small cold front that hopefully will increase the action. I am staying out of the woods until then.
Great video guys, some gorgeous country to hunt in,keep up the good work and hope Ethan crosses paths with the flyer buck again he's a cool deer, good luck and get well soon Jordan
Thanks Scott, much appreciated. Good luck to you too.
I love the music Bill!
Thanks Ernest. That was Jordan's work. Have a great day.
One of my favorite channels, keep it up guys! 🦌🍻
Thanks much Jordan. We appreciate the support and the kind comment. Have a great day.
Got a good one Saturday morning around 8am here in Central Iowa. First bow buck. Quite the rush. Had a bunch of daylight pictures of him when the cold front came through but had other obligations. Was fortunate to catch up to him coming to a rattle bag sequence…he came looking to scrap. Very wierd year though. Seems like they aren’t rutting nearly as hard this year
Had my number 2 at 14 yards on November 1st after grunting him in. Solid upper 160’s public 11 pointer. I couldn’t draw my bow back, I think my safety line stopped my arm. I sat with head in hand for 10 minutes. Will I get 2nd chance. ?? Hunting is hard but when things come together it’s magic. Maybe bigger and better await….Great update Bill. I feel you Ethan, you’ll get another crack at the flyer buck, have faith, I do…
Love the beginning is that the bill winke band? Keep upthe awesome presentations
That is some beautiful scenery you have. Carson it’s hard to beat the nose of predators we’ve had problems with dogs getting to the animal before. It was T-shirt temperatures in Missouri yesterday but the bucks are traveling a lot I just have to fight off the lady bugs my gosh they are bad 👍✌🏻🇺🇸
Stay on em bill your time is coming! Love watching your videos I watch every single one of them and I learn a lot although I'm in Ohio it's kinda almost like the same stuff going on..
Kinda glad I'm not the only one struggling for action. I didn't see a single deer on my farm on November 4 here in east-central Missouri. The weather is warm, doe's are not on their usual patterns as they are tired of getting harassed by the younger bucks. Lots of nocturnal buck pics over the past 7 days. Weather will cool down by the rifle opener, that should have them on their feet in daylight. Good luck, Bill.
Im up in Lincoln County. Went out yesterday(first chance), no movement whatsoever. Left stand about 5.40 started getting photos of does on my cellular trail cam around 7.30. I guess still to warm for them. Looking forward to getting out Friday before rifle on Saturday.
Friday should be a great day.@@jacobtkurt9607
Congratulations on the buck and sorry !! I wrapped up my season today Monday morning I shot a solid 8 pointer we had a lot of pictures of him I'm guessing he will score mid 150's
Thank you!
It's been slow here for me in NE Kansas. I sat from sun up to sun down on Nov. 4th. I passed up a unicorn buck and seen a 6 point chasing 3 doe and that was the last deer I seen for the day and that was at 10:30 AM.....Pushed my vacation back a week so hoping this little cold front moving in Wed helps get some deer moving.
Enjoy the content Bill! Love to send you one of the new calls to play with..
I would be happy to test it and provide some feedback. You can contact me directly through the WinkeBill Instagram page. That would be a good method. Thanks for the interest.
@@bill-winke will do Thanks!
Bill I sure hope u try the fertilizer pipe on your acorn feed trees on your property because the next harvest of acorns will be even more plentiful and better acorns ! Trust me we’ve fertilized our pecan orchard like this for generations and it works on any tree but fruit 🍎 & nut 🌰 trees are the ones the deer care about so give it a shot and let me know what comes to be after few years !
63 in central nc and only got juvenile bucks harassing does so far !
Yall are so fortunate to have some cold weather. It's going to be 61 low for Saturday here in Tallahassee FL. I've seen 2 bucks. Both scraping trees. And that's it. I'm kinda at a lose. Good luck to yall
It is really tough when it is warm. It was in the mid-50s here last night and humid, so I didn't hunt. Not to say that some buck won't be out looking in those conditions, but the activity is less and I had to get some things done around the office, so this was the day for that. Good luck.
Go out of state to GA
Plenty of deer plus the southern half of the state has the best deer outside of Fulton County urban giants
'when' Jordan's shoulder gets better 🙏☺
Yes, that is a slow mending process. Have a great day.
Quentin Tarantino vibes with that intro. Great job.
That was Jordan's creation. Thanks for the support.
Very nicely put together - editing is really coming along! Here in eastern Kentucky we've got heavy frost in the mornings, leaves are crunchy and there are rubs and scraps are popping up everywhere... got me pumped!!!
It's time ShadowDawg. Good luck.
i believe u will get em
High hopes for you guys. Temps near 80 here in Ky today and not much if any movement. Gun opens when this front comes in which I dread but maybe it’ll push some new ones in
Thanks Jay. Those warm days are a killer. Good luck.
Daylight savings time does suck this time of year, know what else sucks, being in a state that doesn't allow hunting on Sundays 😞, especially when it rains on Saturday and Sundays good .
That does suck. I feel your pain.
Bucks were moving Saturday mid morning. Had a 3 year old hounding some does around 10. Couple smaller bucks showed up and tried to get in on the action. Had a couple older 4+ Y.O show up on camera as well. Hopefully they stick around and don’t wander off 2 miles with a doe. It’s starting to really get goin. Good luck
Good luck to you too. We saw a lot of activity Saturday also.
What kind of broadheads do you use? Also do they come with practice tips or do they fly as good as field points? Great video once again.
Trying the B3 Destrukt 3 head (fixed blade) right now. I did shoot the EXO 3 mechanical earlier and it did fine. Here is the link to the website: b3archery.com/product-category/broadheads/fixed/ Their broadhead packets do come with a practice point. Good luck.
It's been pretty slow at my place in Central Wisconsin and I just watched a buck mount a doe and 5 more bucks chase her. Maybe it will kick off more now.
This episode gives me hope to my so far uneventful rutcation. Hope it picks up for everyone wondering where the deer are.
Some guys are seeing them, but it has been slow here. Still mostly nocturnal - at least the older ones. Good luck.
What were you all riding to the stands? Kinda like an e-bike? I don’t think I have seen something that looked like that.
Hang in there got one of my target bucks Friday. 9pt 181.4 lbs
Congrats Kokad... That is awesome. Nice buck!
@@bill-winke thanks. Been doing habitat work and passing on young bucks so was great feeling to one on family property
Bill will have to grow a heard once again. We are watching him literally build a team because right now he just doesn’t have a lot to choose from. The person that has food on his or her farm after late season is king if the bucks stay each year moving forward
David, that is so true. I have some really good young bucks, but it will take a couple more years to see them through. But you are absolutely right, this farm will be really good in the late season - as good as this neighborhood can support - due to how much food I have this year. At least I should be hold them and protect during the late season - even if it turns out that there aren't any mature bucks in the bunch. Good luck.
Seen my number one 2 times in daylight this past week once searching for a doe and then with a doe the next night but I have no buck tag hear in the armpit of deer hunting lol PA
This past weekend i seen some bucks following does . Afternoons i tried hunting food sources trying to find bucks checking does . But did not have very good luck . Its almost as the does gace disappeared . Can you give any thoughts on what may be going on ?
Bill, thanks for all you’ve done over the last 35 years for bowhunting and deer hunting. Last night I had 1st sit in a ground blind by a corner of a corn field, was within bow range of both of my target bucks.Does we’re all over the cornfield but all the Does were close to the edge of woods, there was no chasing just scent checking, interesting to watch.Bill what was the name of the fellow that you get your glandular sent from? Thanks
Rick, thanks for the comment and support. I have not been a big scent guy over the years, but Jared Mills swears by Smokey's. That might be a place to start. Here is the website: smokeysdeerlure.com/product-category/buck-lures/
Thanks Bill it’s lucky # 7
Good luck
Come on bill you don’t like climbing sticks haha
I grew up super poor so it was only steps for me. I even took the bottom four out of every tree and put twigs in the holes so I could find the holes in the dark to reinstall my steps. I got a lot more spots set up that way with a small number of steps. Have a great day. I got where I could put up a stand with steps in no time.
You said you had a buck that was just before and just after daylight, how do you plan on going after this deer? Any certain strategy?
I am just going to have to keep hunting him as carefully as I can in areas where I believe he is ranging and hope for the best. Usually, you would hunt close to where you think he is bedding most often, but this one seems to be all over the place. I have a few more cards to play, but it is going to be tough.
What state you hunt in Mr. Winke
Emily, I grew up in Iowa and hunt close to my old stomping grounds now. Thanks for the interest.
Had similar situation this season except it was the local scumbag 4wheeler poacher that got to my buck before I could. Biggest buck i ever shot too. There's worse things than coyotes.
Man, that does really suck. I am sorry for that experience. Hard to swallow that one.
Clicked to watch hunting not 4 minutes of music
That was four minutes of hunting.
@@bill-winke Bill I apologize. I was ill and tired and half asleep. While I do disagree that it was 4 minutes of hunting I should have kept that to myself. Nothing constructive was said and it’s your video which I am certain you put a lot of work into. Good luck with the rest of your season.
