Landing on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Loved You Until You Got Fat”
good one 😂😂😂
HAHAAHAHAHAH
It's considered, since men began sailing the seas, bad luck to make light of an ocean going vessels name. If that's you, your plenty young enough that the chances are high you will be landing on one of these vessels in one of those starships.
Just saying. ;-)
@@qpwodkgh2010 I’m 43, but I never knew that. Thanks for sharing some Maritime tradition. And, of course I still love you, too.
Yeah I guess they're gonna need a bigger boat for that
Awesome! Drone ship landing would be interesting (it's harder than land landing). A shake out and a half for ASOG if they went that route, perhaps? (As much as we're yet to see ASOG....I think it's hiding in the same river as Red October ;) )
If the plan is to use ocean spaceports long term, they'd need to start practicing ocean landings sometime soon.
@@CbassProductions totally agree
@@CbassProductions For the booster, absolutely. RT'ed it so we'll see what input Elon will provide ;)
@@CbassProductions ocean spaceports will be more like oil rigs - OCISLY would probably sink if Starship lands on it
@@philipwhiuk The barges that OCISLY and JRTI are built from can hold over 10,000 tons of cargo. even a fully fueled Starship would only weigh ~1,400 tons.
I think i won't get bored watching this for a very long time
Yes me too
Same here definitely
Same here
Well, lately I wanna think that not only it will not be boring, but that in the next 20 years we commoners could buy a tour on the Moon and back for less than 20k dollars. It would be really expensive but I would consider it
I write from Russia. I am a proponent of peaceful competition in space. And I sincerely want everything that Elon Musk has planned to work out with this project. Its success makes our engineers work more creatively, boldly, and harder. Elon Musk inspires the whole world with his example!
Yes, for building Amur (Soyuz-scaled Falcon 9 with methane as fuel). BTW, in 2011 project "Russian Girl" was cancelled, but this concept was like Falcon 9, but first stage look like Apollo Lunar Module and it use methane too.
Гугли проект Амур и Россиянка. Оба проекта на метане, первый только прорабатывают, второй в 2011 отменили. Характеристика там примерно Falcon 9, правда Амур гораздо дешевле обещают сделать.
Parent poster (sorry, I can't type in Cyrillic!)... your comment warms my heart! Space exploration promotes worldwide cooperation and lasting peace.
Well Russia (forcefully) inspired Elon to create Spacex, so its good to see how the two can feed off each other to make humans more awesome. Russia is our greatest partner in space and i hope it stays that way.
No flags, armies or bullsh$@ totalitarian ideologies in space dude. We heading out to the galaxy as a united planet.
@@JErnst-pl5xk I wish, dude. What’ll likely happen is the world will start morphing into 2 distinct classes. The elite class (government/ruling class) and the rest of us. And this will be on a global scale. The same handful of people will rule over every country on earth as boundaries are erased. No more elections. Those in power now will remain and hand power down to their children. They will have us do any of the work their machines won’t do, give us enough money to survive, maybe a job and dictate every aspect of our lives “for our own good.” When we have their rockets perfected we will be waving goodbye from the ground unless we are lucky enough to be hired on as their servants.
I could almost hear the cheers of the heatshield team when that thing stopped glowing and was still in one piece, and everyone else when it touched down.
Also, this is less “animation” and more “cinematic” at this point, isn’t it? Artsy angles, the music, camera shake, you’ve got the works going!
I think the heatsheld is the biggest hurdle in the program. NASA couldn't figure it out on the space shuttle.
@@matthewerwin4677 Yesterday's test would suggest that sticking the landing is going to be the biggest hurdle - but that was always expected to be the case with vertically landing vessels. The actual "belly flop" procedure was just awesome to watch though.
😍
When are you gonna upload your next starship video, i love them
@@rahmeer9954 Saturday my friend.

@@MarcusHouse ok thanks, hopefully SN8 test launch is soon, I just cant wait till it happens
1:40 that landing burn will be the most beautiful sound we humans ever heard
Competition can be like a pool of gas getting lit on a match. Once an innovative technology like Starship became used, a fire will ignite that other companies or countries will potentially aim for reusability and let the public able to travel to space then to the stars. Such an extraordinary age to live and we should be proud of it
I'd like to believe that, but Falcon 9 was a monumental step towards a future in space, and their nearest competitor still has yet to achieve orbit.. SpaceX is a decade ahead of their closest competition, unfortunate as it is.
@@Sundablakr That's very true. Starship is way ahead of its time to even considered joining the Rocket market industry and will even destroy the whole market with it. This is to assure and reflect that other companies in a few years will soon follow, making space travel more available to the public than it ever was before which is exciting.
The sound of the Raptors restarting at 1:40 gives me goosebumps every time :D
Fantastic work!
This is probably the best starship animation to date
Its as good as any other but massively confusing. Lunar Starships dont come back and Starships wont land on dromeships by any plans ive heard of for some while now.
@@Vatsyayana87 1st, that’s not a lunar Starship, I got what he meant (CBASS) with the Starship Lunar return title, it’s a Starship, returning from the Moon, maybe a test translunar injection or something that would be useful as a test, simple.
2nd, Who knows? Knowing SpaceX, after sometime it maybe will be more cheaper to land on a droneship than in land.
3rd, SpaceX has plans to launch from sea platforms, I don’t think it’s too crazy for them to land a Starship on top of one.
This is actually one of the best Starship animations to date, because shows clearly what is possible and achievable and what could SpaceX implement into their plans. They will try to do some crazy stuff like this. Expect that.
@@Vatsyayana87 yes, lunar starships won't come back to earth, but how do you get your crew to moon orbit and back in the first place? using a normal starship. And that is literally what this video is showing

Think again.

This is one of the most amazing renderings of a Starship re-entry, skydive, and bellyflop maneuver ever! This animation is absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to see it irl! 😆
I love this. Best simulation I've seen so far. I watched it 3 times in a row and will now share it with everyone to help them understand how amazing Starship reentry is going to be.
But also SN8 KABOOM would be interesting to see...
Best sound effects of any so far. I can only imagine the inside of the starship. 20 people upside down flipping around... secured only by their recycled Six Flags roller coaster shoulder harness.
@Simon Read if you’re lucky and it’s not flat stones
lol, OTSRs on a Starship
@Simon Read yeah that’s original. You are what? 12?
Damn! What a bad ass video about how monstrous and awesome the starship is.
I am stunned! The landing animation especially. Wow, your work keeps getting better and better!
Damn, that's SpaceXy! When those engines fired up I thought, "Thunderbirds are GO!"
Watched it 3 times!!! Love the sound of the raptors when they kick in!!
That raptor ignition sound effect is awesome
Amazimg take on re-entry! Love the shot of it zipping throught the sky super bright.
INCREDIBLE!!! I can't get over how real it looks from 1:05 - 1:15. Your work is drop-dead amazing!
Incredible work! I just saw the SN8 test just now live. You nailed the maneuver at the when where raptors ignite and flips quickly before landing.
The flip when landing is satisfying
Love Your Work! I've watched this video literally 30 times, it never stops amazing me. Keep it up!
Great work as always! 👏
Every single animation, I thin you have achieved perfection, and then you One-up it with the next one. Amazing job!
Awesome! thanks for your beautiful job here!
The flip maneuver with the engine light-off is a lot of fun! Great sound! Or, should I say acoustic energy, since it shook the camera like hell.
Imagine riding in one of those as it returns, going through those spins and hoping that it hits the target.
With no means of escape if anything goes awry. I'd rather keep my feet on terra firma.
I can imagine: "Wake me up when we've landed."
Well done. Detail is awe inspiring
Instantly immersive, thanks for another awesome upload. :)
Wtf?!?! This is AMAZING. Animation AND sound. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Imagine when this will one day be routine. Like Falcon9 landings are now.
This animation and soundscape is 🤯. SpaceX is inspiring art!! Kudos to the artists who put this together.
Great Work!
Loving it👍👍👍
Nice work ,great animation ,very cinematic, also good sound design !
Fantastic Piece of work, gave me goosebumps all over!!
O my god that was amazing. I really loved the landing footage
Love it Corey. Well done. 🚀
Wing folding is super cute! Starship is doing this to prevent overturning by wind :D
Bro you are a god of animations! Thank you for the sick video!
Nice Animation, much better than others I have seen. The descent phase always reminds me of the Adama Maneuver, where he jumped Galatica into the atmosphere and it fell like a rock.
That's frikin' awesome, love the meteorite frames!
That water looks incredible well done
Hell yeah, more animations from you
Marcus House brought me here. Thx
Awesome!!! The landing part was so cool it really shakes alot, and I like it
Even if SN8 crashes SpaceX can learn a from the data they receive.
Levels of Success:
1. Clears the pad
2. Reaches near high altitude
3. Switches to bellyflop mode
4. Flaps work and can maintain stabilization for awhile
5. Flips to engine down successfully
6. Comes down to hard or at bad angle
7. Lands Undamaged
The farther through these steps SN8 survives the more space X will learn. What step do think it will make it to?
Optimistic for comes down hard 🤞🏻
Shouldn't there be a separate step after /before the flip for successful engine re-ignition?
@@mattmorse830 Agree! Missed that...
@@MJ-zo5gb I feel like if we see that then sn8 is a huge success, any sort of landing after that would be an added bonus for space X. Almost feel like coming down to hard/at a bad angle or just no major damages could help them learn more than a perfect landing as it can show them any issues that may be present in the design. Similar to the last static fire exposed a design issue in the raptor engine sooner rather than later.
Well 6/7 definitely wasn't bad
Amazing as always!
Your renders are absolutely amazing, goosebumps every time
Well done animation. The sparkling/rippling ocean is particularly difficult and well done. I love the clouds, the change of depth falling surfboard style towards the cloud deck, and the wind sounds. i know how much time and effort this took. Nice job.
Beautiful, amazing work!
Oooh! Aaaah!
I hope someone else makes another animation of a Starship landing. You can never have enough of them.
Well done. Really nice. Keep up the good work.
The camera shake and audio clipping is incredibly lifelike. Awesome render!
This is jaw dropping, congrats!
Absolutely
Great job Corey!
Amazing. Awesome work you did
This puts a smile on my face.
Great job!
That flip back maneuver was smooth
Apart from the overly shaky camera this was really nice! Cant wait to see Starships first landing!
Just found this channel. Your work is amazing! Got goosebumps watching this. Sound design on point! Render sooooo on point!
I love these! Right down to the drone ship camera shake 🙂

Your animations are out of this world. So accurate and impressive
You should have millions of views!!!! Awesome work
Really nice animation! really puts the scale of rockets into perspective!
This is honestly one of the most inspiring things i have ever seen
Now that's totally rad, sick, hip & cool! 😎
2020-2021 top 1 greatest science breakthrough "STARSHIP".
Excellent! I think that the glow from the plasma from compression of the atmosphere on re-entry will be a little higher in the visible light spectrum than the dull orange glow that you chose. None-the -less, congratulations on your amazing work work.
The best yet. Now to see a full launch, moon orbit, return and landing, ALL IN ONE VIDEO!
This is amazing.
"Thank you for flying SpaceX to Lunar Base One. We hope you'll fly with us again soon."
Another excellent 3D work! Excellent attention to nuances. 😀
Space X Hope is what I see . Great Talent for making this for enthusiasts like me. Thank you.
My heart already goes out to SpaceX mission control with the number of test failure it will probably take to get this right.
but once it does, oh boy
Let's see how it goes on Wednesday .
@@olaniyantoyin4958 If they get through ascent and positioning for descent, it will be good. If they get through descent and re-ignition of the rockets but miss on the flop or sticking the landing, it will be great for a 1st attempt. If they get further I will be ecstatic.
Like elon said in the tweet if SN8 destroys itself (which let's be honest it's going to) that's why they have SN 9 and 10 waiting. That is, if they don't destroy SN 9 and 10 during the SN 8 landing attempt.
@@1SCme
you were spot on ,dude!
This moment will be talked about for a thousand years once it occurs successfully! Aaaaand....i almost blew my car speakers out from the awesome raptor sound effects. Nice! 👍🏻
My guess is that there will be several different versions of Starship: Earth-to-LEO, Translunar, Lunar Lander. They may even specialize into tanker vs cargo lifter.
You're not too far off. There's also going to be a fully expendable one for deep space mission and for the Air Force (they aren't too confident in a fully reusable Starship). The lunar one might even be put deeper into space for moon-to-moon travel.
You are correct, this is already part of the plan to have different variants. A large part of this is that the Lunar version actually has some additional engines that the other versions don't. Lunar gravity is so weak that using the raptors, even just 1, for landing would be too strong and would potentially just push the starship away from the moon. They are adding smaller thrusters, maybe similar to super draco's inorder to have a low power option for moon landings.
Of course there will be a tanker version, that's the only way Starship will make it to the moon or Mars.
@@n0ukf I think they mean tanker v. cargo lifter will have some differences. They will, OP, because for cargo they need to have a fairing. Tanker probably won't.
You guessed right!
Wow! Very nice!
Whoa, good water animation!
This is BEAUTIFUL 🤯
Man your renders never fail to amaze me!
wow. awesome man.
Loved it 😍. Please do more 🔥
That gave me chills.
