- This was a video I filmed long time ago but didn't actually had the time to edit and the courage to post. But here it is now, Finally!
One thing I have noticed in others but also on myslef in that I have different personalities, while speaking different languages. This can be related to the culture, tone, memories and personal relations someone has with a certain language. In this video, I have tried to discuss a bit about these different personalities of me while speaking different languages. Also how I learned the languages( Swedish, Amharic, English, Arabic, Korean and Tigrigna ).
I hope you enjoy it! And tell me your experience as well.
I have no experience with the language, but your Tîgrîña sounds very pleasant to me. I'm an English-/Spanish-speaking American🇺🇸 trying to learn Amharic🇪🇹 because my city has many Ethiopian immigrants.
I didn't know until now that Tîgrîña managed to preserve some of the markedly Semitic sounds found in Arabic that both Amharic and Hebrew have lost, that's so interesting 😄
It is weird how much we have in common. Just like you my mom and dad use to speak tigrigna only when we have gustes over. I was so eager to learn the language but they used to laugh at me. But now I have taught my self. I also used to watch Korean drama when I was in high-school. I just didn't bother to learn the language.I can only greet and say sorry and thank you. The same as you with Arabic and amharic is my first language which I can use with confidence. I live in Canada now where I advanced my English. Now I am trying to learn Turkish as I am into Turkish dramas these days.
Keep learning 👍 mokshe.
wow, it's so nice to hear! It's not just our name that's the same, we have similar stories too. I hope it goes well with the Turkish! Thank you 😍
Both your Tigrigna and Arabic have gotten so much better since I last heard you speak. MashaAllah you're so talented! It's very true what you said about your personalities when you speak different languages. I've never paid attention to mine tho. I think I act the same when speaking different languages. Aydel?
tack! awo betam teshasholal 😍, you were my Arabic teacher eko for some time. ... and yeah you should probaly pay attentionnext time. Do you remember the school nurse when she spoke Swedish and English? she was a totally different person.
Superb! This will inspire lots of young people inside and in the diaspora to embrace language learning.
Thank you, I really hope so!

Oh MashaAllah we have so much in commen, I was born in Ethiopia and moved to Sweden at 6th grade ... long story short I have now moved back to the mother land Ethiopia.. du talar väldigt bra svenska... folk brukade tro at jag va född I Sverige när jag bodde där men nu... after having been away for 5 years it feels like I need to think in Amharic/English than talk in svenska 😊
omg, I feel the same actually, been so long since I spoke Swedish and also I'm in Ethiopia now.
I agree with u regarding expressing complex ideas, I only speak english and amharic but eventho my mother toungue is amharic I rly can't get in an argument with some1 and win or express complex ideas like personal philosophies and how I am really feeling.... Just here u tell u tht ur not alone in this😃
Yess exactly, you said it well👏🏽👏🏽
Mashallah gall adey queen ❤❤🎉🎉
I understand ur Tigrigna very well. Your Tigrigna is very charming.

Really nice, which website did you use to study Arabic?
Respect!
Nice video ikuye 👏👏. I like your Tigrigna 👏👏
Thank you 😍 learned it from you 😂😂
What resources did you use to learn Amharic?
my parents also talk in amharic like that they slip in some words in english but sadly i don’t speak it because my parents didn’t teach me but i do speak chinese as my 2nd language with english as my st
wow, that's nice! I don't think Chinese is an easy language to learn and if you have already learned that, I think other languages will be easier for you to learn as well.
I understand you y'know. I was brought up with Arabic because my dad is Eritrean and my mum is Ethiopian. So they bonded over Arabic and taught me Arabic but it's really isolating not knowing the two main languages of my culture. Then I picked up Korean really fast due to watching so many Korean dramas and still struggle with basic hello phrases in Amharic. I don't know a thing in Tigrinya.
You're missed ikru. Minew tefash?
ohh thank you sweety, will be back soon.
I speak amharic and swedish🇪🇹🇸🇪

Hello, I am writing a story where the characters are polyglots, could you help me?
Can you tell me how they say in Tigrinya: Having a home is the most important thing?
And in Korean:
I'm sick of burgers
Thank you. 😊
I can tell you the tigrigna part but my korean isn't that advanced 😊
@@allthingsikki7659 Ok, no problem. Tell me the tigrigna part. thank you 😁
👍
You know I want to speak more language but I can't. What can I do?
Even I'm not good speaking English.
I think.. if you have time you should watch movies series in the language you want to practice. That will help you understand the language but as for the speaking, finding a person who you can practice with would be really beneficial. GOOD LUCK!
@@allthingsikki7659 i will, thank you
