How is that relevant to this discussion? I was commenting on your point about being God sending someone to hell.
@Dafariii
Since religion is part of why the public medicine (like NIH) exists in America it is rather telling that Hitchens would run it down.
@Tome4kkkk "who da fuck told him that" hint: listening helps. "...assumptions..." yep, but not his assumptions. next itme listen, listen again and then comment.
"get a hobby" this guy is seen as one of the greatest philosophers of our time. he made a fortune with his writings. he greatly influenced the atheist-theist debate. he converted a whole lot of theists (an assumption on my side, but ive hear a few testemonies), giving them a happier life. what was your point again?
@MsHojat
No, for someone who e.g. never heard the rules, doesn't know of god, was born into a family of atheists etc. then they are not going to hell necessarily. They are judged only within the range of what they could possibly know is right and wrong.
My thoughts on faith are this: you either have it, or you don't. If someone has faith in a higher being, and if they use that faith constructively to try and guide their morality and help them achieve happiness and success in life (which, let's be honest, is the essential meaning of life) without pushing it down other people's throats (and forcing them to conform), then there's nothing wrong with it! Live and let live!
Great, his hair and voice are back. Whadda recovery!
@jxtsful russia?
no offence but have you been in hiding for 20 years?
apart from that i agree with you
@FOBmzunguREPTILICUS & you're already a failure for not spelling the name of your own god correctly
I think the "Thou shalt not take the lord's name in vain" rule might be applicable
@MrGreeneggsnham the concept of a "divine dictatorship" still makes little sense.
Trump supporters take note
@MsHojat
Not sure why it's a problem.
gods are imaginary
@twistedbass15
I disagree. The hell is the lack of relationship with God. Man chooses that. God doesn't send you to hell.
Super old comment but how is that not coercion? It’s like holding a gun to someone’s head and saying to worship them. If you don’t I’ll shoot you, but it’s entirely your choice to worship me or not.
@AugustosMaximus yes North Korea is an atheistic state - communism kind of silly to miss this fairly obvious point - (communism stalin, kruschev etc abolish christianity and religion etc
Right on!
You do make difference between Orthodox and Roman-Catholic Church?
It's not pathetic propaganda. The Orthodox Community in Pyongyang was blessed and visited by today's Russian Patriarch, as well by other bishops, the Korean priests were trained in Russia.
President Kim Il Sung said that everyone has right to chose religion and that every priest has duty to pray for prosperity of DPR Korea.
@Dafariii
Who said religion could not be criticized?
You know I didn't yet that's what you accuse me of.
I see no reason to continue with a gutter snipe.
check and mate.
Anyone has anything against this argument? Anybody? Hehehehe... Hitchslap!!!
@theheinzification "next itme listen, listen again and then comment."
The source of his imagination of paradise can only be his arse. None of our fairytale books describe paradise as a "land of eternal prayers and that's it".
"this guy is seen as one of the greatest philosophers of our time."
Something like Matt Damon? :D
"he made a fortune with his writings."
Is Justin Bieber's fortune an indicator of the value of his music?
@NesselEss They don't call their leader a "god".
Therefore they must be Atheists since they don't believe in a deity or many.
This is where you fail. You are assuming they are monotheistic. They clearly aren't since the acknowledge he is a man and not a supernatural deity.
Hey isn't this speaker the guy who's getting medical treatment from Christians?
