Love the hydroseeder. Next phase is to fix a chair on the trailer so that Al can be strapped in and spraying while Gina drives the truck round the property 😎
add a good spray cannon and never get off the trailer
Good morning Lumnah family AND friends! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I need prayers from all of my friends here. This weekend was to be when we put in our garden here in MN. I not only grow for us, but my daughters family, a neighbor and the food shelf. Early Thursday morning this week I broke my left Tibia. I also gardening on land that borrowed from a neighbor. If I don't use it, I may lose it. God bless you all.🥰😊
🙏🏿🤩🐶
Morning Gump happy memorial weekend my brother & have a blessed weekend! 😊👍
Gooood Morning Forrest. Sorry to hear about the injury. Hopefully you heal quickly and can get some help planting your garden. We will be praying for you.
Thank you🥰
Good morning, Forrest - thank you and may The Lord bless you and yours too! Sorry to hear about your accident... sending healing thoughts and prayers your way!
Have fun mowing those rocks.
Thinking the same thing. LOL
Im thinking its a good place to build a rock wall!
Only you would do that
Pick-up the rocks for cripes sake
Lol that is funny. Picking up the rocks on the hill AFTER planting the grass. Probably with the flail or drag behind the tractor You are too funny@@joehuinker7009
Good mauhnin Lumnah Acres and friends! Hope everyone is doing well! A hydro seeder! Woohoo! Way to go Al!👍 Happy Memorial Day weekend to all our American friends! Have a great weekend, enjoy and stay safe.🇺🇸 ❤️🙏
Good morning, Elizabeth - thank you! Hope you have a good weekend too!
Loving seeing you living your dreams Al. So good to see all those ideas you have in your head come to fruition. Everytime you make something, you can see how happy you are!!!

Good morning Modern Steaders! Al is always building something interesting!
I wonder why Al doesnt say this anymore? I miss it!
Good morning,Jack of all trades,is their any thing you can't do,have a bless day😊🌻🌷🇺🇸
Morning Al, Gina. As good as that Hydro seeder is grass still won't grow on rock. Maybe you can hire a rock harvester for the new fields and just pick up on the small areas. Buy or make a stone crusher next. You will have good grass and never need to buy in stone again.
❤❤❤
Good morning!

Gooooooooooood morning, Al & Gina!
Gooood morning Gina,Al,Olivia, and Lumnah nation! Coffee is hot and delicious. How’s the heat? It was 87 yesterday. Happy Memorial weekend everyone!
Good morning Edman!🌄😊
Goooooooood Morning edman. We had the heat upper 80s in the beginning of the week. It’s 40 here right now. I have the chilly mornings. Happy Memorial Day weekend
@@forrestgump9576 Hello Forrest, I read that you broke your fibula, ouch! How’d you do that? I fell and broke my wrist recently. Getting old isn’t for whimps. Sounds like you have a huge garden. What style raised beds are you going to switch towards using? HappyMemorial weekend!
@@LumnahAcresYour invention works awesome, nice job Al.
I missed the bottom step on my basement steps. And instead of my foot landing normal on the concrete, it folded inwards. I heard the bone snap. And I instantly hit the floor.
AL, this is FANTASTIC job on your hydro
seeder. GOD BLESS YOU TOO❤ ☕️
Like your T shirt Al.
I am just totally flabbergasted at you ingenuity - forever thinking outside the box. Yes, I know all these things have existed for a long, long time, but to think it all through and gather all the components together to build this sprayer that works efficiently, is a second most important part. And not to forget that you may perceive that is a possibility but then also have the drive to see it through to assemble it and make this marvellous piece of equipments possible. And you need something like this to be able to seed the inaccessible areas of the land. Al, CONGRATULATIONS on developing this piece of equipment and putting this to use! Give thanks to the Lord for giving you this capability!
You never cease to amaze me , Al.
Good luck with the grass growing😮. Al you are very clever on building a hydro seeder.
Great shirt, Al. Very important message. The hydroseeder took a back seat.
Wow Al and Gina! What an amazing project! Clever just doesn't cover how knowledgeable you are Al!
I wish the podcast was tomorrow. Ben's going to flip! && Jason. Great job Al!!!❤❤
Good afternoon Lumnah family 💜
Good morning Al Gina and Olivia. Just a little note on your hydroseeding mix your seed and fertilizer in the tank first let it sit overnight then add your green stuff that way the seed will soak up the fertilizer to get an early start hydroseeder
Al, you should fab a strainer box for the end of the suction hose when filling the IBC tote to prevent sticks/mulch from being sucked into the pump and tote. Cheers!
I'm afraid a strainer box would clog up too fast with this mix - it's almost a gel, it appears, and it wouldn't take much to clog up, I'd wager...
@@samvalentine3206 the strainer box is meant to go into the water source before the mixing occurs
@@mikewieggers3139 - Ah, I see. The suction line does have a strainer end on it already - in the beginning of the video, look above Gina on the top shelf behind her, and you'll see the suction line and it's strainer "can"... 🙂
A very good morning from Gatwick wishing you all a very happy and peaceful weekend 🎉
Good morning in Gatwick!🌄🥰
Goooooooood Morning Hyland.
Good morning
Green Green meadows at Lumnah Acres. Great diy seeder. Enjoy the nice weather.
Great engineering, Al.
This seeder will come in so handy for filling in bare areas and for spraying compost tea.
wow, rutus has really grown. he is a beautiful animal .
For a lid on the hydroseeder, take a 5 gallon bucket, cut off the bottom. trace and cut a hole using the bucket. Use some sealant. Either use the lid from the bucket of get a spin on lid. Now you can keep out debris and rodents from inside the tote.
On the end of a firetruck ladder, sometimes they have a tripod nozzle for spraying. It would save your back a little and as was pointed out by someone else, Al could ride the trailer and Gina could drive the truck! :)
Outstanding video. I admire your 'where there's a will there's a way' mind set. Your determination is extrodinary. I never miss a video. 🤗🥰 Happy Memorial Day Weekend.
Al washing his truck and next week he will have grass growing in the cracks where that washout of the tank shot seed. lol
Expecially on Trucks roof !

This is a pretty neat gizmo. I love it when something expensive can be made for a much lower price! I can wait to see the pretty green grass come up.
That hydroseeding nozzle would be great for knocking down fires also ... Great creation
That’s pretty neat . Hope it grows well for you. God bless.
Al I love when you engineering you make the. Best videos you have a great mind keep it up keep it up.
Al you have an ingenious mind to figure all of these projects out! Can’t wait for your grass to GROW!!!!
Good Morning Al and Gina! I told my wife Tuesday, you would need to address those washout areas soon! That is a great how too project! The process reminds me of my job in a brewery years ago. I would add a filtering powder into a vat of beer. The mixture coated fine mesh screens in a pressure vessel. I had too keep a certain level to keep the mix running and coating! The beer was pumped through filtering it! Her is one suggestion. Put a mixing blade in the tote to keep the goop incorporated.
If you plan on hydroseeding much, youll need a funnel for your hydroseed mulch; and a ladder so you can fill your IBC tote easily. Im thinking you can use a 5 gallon bucket as a funnel if you drill a hole in the bottom and fit (and glue) the hole with something just barely big enough to fit in the hole at the top of the IBC tote. Use a piece/ legnth ofvplastic pipe or even a plastic flower pot woth the bottom removed.
also, add a screen so no large lumps get in there to clog the works. (screen mesh smaller than the nozzle bore)
Pretty good hydroseeder for a home-made model!
Great set up! This beats driving around the paddock in circles with the seeder! Brutus has grown so much, & I love your animals! Cheers & ❤ to you all. From Oz
Love seeing you doing "real " farming things.
You are always inventing something smart. What a guy.
I ran a commercial hydro seeder for years ,we had a semi truck with a 5000 gallon tank. Your idea of the return line into the tank is a great idea to keep the heavies and fertilizers and seed from settling to the bottom of the tank .We used old newsprint that had Been shredded as a holding binding material to hold the seed and fertilizer in place so the rain wouldn't leach it off. But I think you need what we had in our mix tank and that was a mechanical agitator that broke down the paper into a fiber and kept it at a constant consistency so it would spray at a constant rate and not plug the nozzle. Myself and the truck driver would arrive at work a couple hours before we were to start spraying mainly bare ground from new construction of highway, freeway right of ways. We'd load the tank with water and then add the paper and allow it to agitate for at least an hour before spraying. The last things we'd add to the tank was the bags of seed and fertilizer. If you could figure out a way to build a simple agitator I think your idea would work .
I think your right on with your invention but from experience I think you really need a mechanical agitator . When I watched when you added more mix and I saw the medium clumping up at the surface of your tank ,an agitator would not only break up those clumps but it would keep your mixture at a consistent mixture where the seed stays mixed well in the mixture. I pretty sure with your welding and fabrication skills you will be able to build a simple agitator for your product tank.
One thing I'd reccomend would be to put the mixture on a little heavier. It will add more seed but most importantly it will hold the moisture around the seeds until they germinate and can establish a start of a root system. Drying out for even a day will kill a lot of the seed and a little heavier application will help hold the moisture and hold the seed.
Those sound like wonderful tips. I think of a washing machine agitator that an old washing machine motor could run but powering it might be hard. If it only goes around in one direction then maybe a solar panel or two could run it or just a car battery. You'd want it a little down in the tank. A little gas powered boat motor maybe? We'll have to see what he comes up with. Thanks for the tips. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Consider putting a PVC pipe extension that has perforated holes attached to return to tank line, about 3' with coupling ( capped on bottom ) for easy removal when cleaning to store away, that will stir the mix blending contents of tank, to less often plug valve and nozzle !
I still think grass seed would be more efficient if spread first with being funneled into blower, then covered with hydro-mix minus grass seeds, but just my thoughts !

Good morning Lumnah family. That is quite the set up. Never seen that before. Will be interesting to see how the seeds grow. Pray you don't get any rains to wash it off. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy our Memorial Day week end.
Goooooooood Morning Gene. One thing with hydro seeding is it’s supposed to stick to the ground so it won’t wash away by the rain.
@@LumnahAcres Neat set up. Good job Al.
Good morning, Gene - The theory should work ... time will tell. I'm hoping it works as those washed-out banks are kind of sad looking!

Back in the day, when I was a commercial real estate developer, after we came out of the ground with a bldg and installed base roadways, we hired a guy, no taller than 5 foot nothing who had a hydro rig with a fire fighter nozzle as you described. Man, did he make short work of hydro seeding the site and his seed mix was made up of old newspaper clippings!

Fabulous! Praying for a sea of green!
If you drilled a small hole at the end of the access flap on the IBC tote, you could feed some twine or wire through and attach the end to the opposite side of the tote and affix to hold the flap open. This way you would have two hands free to put your materials into the tote. I think it’d make things much more convenient and save you time.
FANTASTIC JOB AL on creating your own spraying system for applying new seed in area's like your banks, etc. It's totally awesome!!! God Bless.
I love all you projects and gadgets. Looks like you need a big funnel to put all that stuff through or maybe put it in a trough with water and use your machine to suck it up into the IBC tote lol.
I’ll keep watching, your my top show on RUclips.
Good morning Lumnah family. Nice hydroseeder and if you get more totes you have a fire truck. Just nice to have just in case. Love watching all your videos thanks again. Have a great weekend.Bless all our military. Prayers for Forrest
OK, that was so cool, it was so neat to see that done, and yes you saved a lot of money, I think you did great. Can't wait to see all the Grass and how thick it comes in :)
Nice job. Should tow York rake with your 4x4 to get rid of surface rocks also would cultivate soil. Might save a few lawn mower blades. Great job with pump.
Nice job on seeder. Might try a trash can to dump the EZ Flow in to break it up and use a scoop make it easier & less messy to add. So now you need to get a dedicated trailer to put it on. If you used a inclosed one you could keep all your supplies dry. You’re going to have grass everywhere now.

That’s is AWESOME!!! Great job!!!
every time i see your dog he grows so much is he eating 50 lb of dog food a day he's a monster i love this dog
Looks like it worked great.
Totally rad. I am in central Michigan and my yard used to be 90% weeds. I left the leaves on the ground, mulched them in and within 3 years my grass is really good. I does grow fast and health blades. I didn't need seed or fertilizer, just leaves and grass clippings mulched.
I'm so glad to hear this from you. The same thing happened at our farm. I left the leaves to mulch into the grass that was almost all weeds when we showed up. After 15 years it's almost all beautiful healthy grass now. It's weird to have grass improve with "neglect." I think it's part of God's plan to replenish the nutrients for the grass from the leaves. The first two years we were at the farm I raked the leaves. I found out about permaculture and I stopped doing that. The grass in my front yard got more sparse from raking and I thought about adding grass seed. I stopped raking and it got better! So amazing how the ecology works. Have a Happy Memorial Day weekend!
I enjoy watching you with new new toys great addition to the farm. Have a great weekend, Al, Gina and Olivia.
