Oh my goodness! Well with the ability to make hundreds more layers in animations, I’m hoping that also means we can apply the 3D to animation layers somehow? If not now, I’m excited that it might be headed in that direction. Also very excited about the directional and tonal lighting capabilities. That certainly is a mother of an update with the 3D and lighting alone. Just WOW! Thanks for sharing 👊🏼✨
OHH, the new page assist feature caught my attention!! I think I'm most excited for that! While I've been doing normal artwork for now, Ive been interested in doing comics in Procreate and I'm really happy they're adding more support for that before I begin! And I really like the brush size memory, now I won't have to make duplicates of the same brush for different sizes or worry about accidentally changing the size. I might play around with the 3D painting if I learn how to make a model, but I'm more for 2D painting so while it's still interesting I probably wouldn't try it right away.
Any news about whether we’ll get a ‘search brush’ option and brush folders yet? - I’ve got well over 500+ brush sets and I really need this adding in….but the 3D and lighting looks great no more guess work with colouring scenes and characters…..yey!

Most interested in the 2D illustration tools, like the new Page Assist... can I export Page Assist files to multi-page PDFs? Or export single pages to single images? How does this feature look in action? Everyone's talking about the 3D stuff, which I don't have any immidiate use for, but what I'm hoping for is new things to make my 2D art projects faster, more organized, and easier to share with others. Also, I'd *really* like a Magic Wand style select tool, and the ability to manually turn off anti-aliasing for selections and fills (a 'hard edged' mode, perhaps?), to make it easier to color my line art cleanly, like I do in Photoshop.

@@kewa_design For sure. I was including Nomad in the "solutions available" column. Procreate, Nomad, and some random backup suite for etc image/design (my choice being Affinity). Then we just need a competent modeling app. Nomad is great for sculpting and organic.. but not so much for literal modeling. Yet, at least.
i hope it can work seamless with 3d coat substance workflow personally use those and texture concepting from procreate then to those powertools would be nice

I have 2 questions that you might be able to answer. 1) Do you know whether the LIDAR sensor of the iPad is supported for the VR feature (so that hidden surfaces are recognized)? 2) Is it possible to 'import' the PBR textures diffuse, roughness and metallic from existing 3D models?
We all have a start right? Lol well today is mine. I don't draw, but I can clearly conceptualize lol.. So heres to hoping I can do it again;take the moves, scenes, situations out of my head and put them into an augmented "touchable" realitywith proper context. Having done something similar with Young amateur dancers who then created advanced works, I think it'll take me the same amount of time & similar number of headaches, with just the right number of "aha" moments, & multiplied by prayers& sheet begging 😂🤣Cheers to the future- great video- how does this stack up to blender and unity and the others?
You have to import a 3D model to access the 3D features. I would check out my newest video to see how you can make your own 3D model, or search for ".obj" files online.
It would be a big help if you could help, when I went into procreate and clicked what’s new I accidentally backed out of it and I can’t get 3D mode or know how to get it back can u help
What a Nonsense - Update! The creators of Procreate are going in the wrong direction. Instead of developing further improvements of the drawing engine (like effect- layers) , they are doing some 3D - and audio-stuff, which none of the advanced users of a painting- and drawing- app uses.
since the facepaint feature last year, its obvious they are going in a weird direction of turning their app into a toy. bunch of years old bugs that never get adressed and acessibility and usability issues we have been asking to be noticed but gets ignored every update.
Did I miss something? Is the update basically giving us the ability to import pre-existing models to then just edit materials and lighting in pro-create?
Please publish more videos on the beta 5.2. I am trying to,figure out how to increase the text on my brush sets and my canvas titles. They say we can increase them from 66% but I can’t find the place to do this. Do you kniw? Or does anyone reading the comments. Any help much appreciated.
Augmented Reality bit seems interesting. With the right model, texture and lighting it could become something amazing and a good way to test out a model before using it on more heavy programs like Marmoset, substance or unreal.
Hey Tovi7, in the Share menu I can see a few options. We have the following: Share model - USDZ - OBJ Share Image - JPEG - PNG - TIFF -... Share Textures - PNG

Am I the only one who can’t 3d paint? Every time I go to do a brush stroke on one of the 3d objects the object moves and the paint stroke doesn’t show up. And yes I did select which section/layer I wanted to paint so idk what I’m doing wrong. I don’t have an Apple Pencil if that matters.
So next to no updates for 2D artists? I'm failing to see what the point of this feature is. You don't make the 3D objects in Procreate, correct? You import them from somewhere else that makes them and you just.... colour/skin them here in Procreate? And... then what? The list of other changes at the end seems to be a handful of changes for ease of use like saving brushes and brush sizes, and then nothing substantial to actually doing better art in 2D Disappointing, I must admit
3D artists see this as a grand step,forward. Creating 3D textures is big business and this brings it to the Mobil world. It’s primitive, but a start. I am both a 2d and a 3D artist. So I’m a happy camper.
I used to paint textures using Mari. We could view the objects in flat map mode and paint on those to avoid ‘spill’ (distorted painting on a curved surface). Will there be flat maps in this new Procreate? This looks amazing.
What was that 3d tool i can use on ipad again? Im trying to implement 3d as base for environment concept art to import on procreate, and it would be cool to see a guide or something :)
I wounder if there is a way to put your work into videos like say I made a game video and wanted to edit it into it or a movie or somthing as background prop
As I understand, this isn’t a 3D drawing app update, it can only import 3D and then you can color it. But can’t one do all this in one app, namely Nomad?

In the notes you can see theres a save of up to 8 of the most recently used brushes and the ability to pin favorites

Hi David, yes indeed. in the 3D options, you can tap on "Show 2D Texture". There you can paint on the texture in 2D :)

Yes, but the drawing functionality in Nomad is nowhere near as sophisticated as in Procreate. Nomad Sculpt is such a fun app though 😃
