This is where the fallacy is. People thinking philosophical concepts ias theory. Now as far as belief systems, I love the concept of the noosphere in part, because philosophers have taken the physical concept that information cannot be destroyed, even as matter and energy are transmuted. In this case, while the information is more purely based on mass and energy, it's easily possible for a philosopher to extend that idea into information being the sum total of thoughts, experience, emotions and even processes. To stretch it farther, the noosphere is the brain of the universe as elements like life, power it, giving it ultimate purpose. The ability to experience itself. Other concepts are similar though less coherent. One concept I rather likes, was the idea that we don't have souls, rather we share a link to a oversoul of sorts. Thinking it as a piece of soul., Or if you want, a page in a book that the great mind of the universe has being written. But this goes well beyond from metaphysics to pure religion. Bizarre as it is, this concept has been used again and again by science fiction writers. Its really a cool concept. The gestalt concept of overmind concept is also often seen. The Overmind, invisible to it's components, alters paths of events, to affect its own life. Its just that we cannot see it. We're the cells that make up a body. In some ways this links in well to far older philosophical ideas, like the Gaia concept, which itself is extensible to include solar systems, galaxies and the universe itself.

Turning us back into animals. Destroying the C-Consciousness may have been the worst thing Strelok did...
On the other hand, the C-Consciousness were the ones who created this whole mess in the first place. So Strelok likely thought that killing them would at least prevent them from further damaging the Noosphere. Given that Strelok is arguably the most knowledgable person about the Zone at this point, his best course of action would likely be to share his findings with the Ukrainian government and the governments of other countries as well, given how the Zone could evolve into a global catastrophe. Perhaps with the combined effort of all of the world’s top scientists, engineers and unlimited funding, the crack in the Noosphere could be fixed.
I think it is very hard to tell what the consequences of the rift in the Noosphere and the destruction of the C-Consciousness will be. As Strelok stated himself "I don't know whether I was right or wrong, I guess I'll never know". I certainly hope that we will learn more about this in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and in fact the aftermath of Strelok's actions could very well be a major ploint point in the game.
I always imagined it that in the STALKER universe some high ups in the soviet union heard of the Noosphere hypothesis and didn't get that it was meant as a "theoretical" or "philosophical" concept, instead thinking it's a real physical sphere of thought energy and tasking scientists with researching it. When they researched it they DID actually find something similar to it which eventually lead to the events of STALKER.
Anomalous Dugout, considering if anomalies are created through the leaking of the Noosphere and are therefore powered by people, would you perhaps agree with the idea that artifacts are the physical hopes, dreams, desires, fears, knowledge, and hate of humans? Artifacts stem from anomalies and have strengths and flaws (similar to a human) because each artifact represents an individual in some capacity.
Well we could say that the crack in the noosphere builds up energy and pressure and expells it as a form of anomaly's in the zone so the product of the noosphere would be energy outbursts in the forms of anomalys. Another interesting point to make is that energy cannot be destroyed meaning when the crack in the noosphere releases energy in a form of a emmision and since energy cannot be destroyed it takes a form of a anomaly
(1/2) Considering that the exclusion Zone is supposed to have none inside, the C-Consciousness' scientists might thought of using this to make the Zone a FILTER of bad thoughts and emotions. By your explanation, it seems that no matter what kind of thought escapes the Noosphere, it gets converted to emission energy that (when overflowing) creates the emission itself. Probably, they wanted to use the Zone ONLY to detach the bad emotions (which will never be as big in quantity compared to ALL of them) from the Noosphere, release it in minimum quantities through something smaller and more controlled. Also, the same energy received from the Noosphere (bad thoughts) could have acted as a form of generator itself. (continue in the comments because RUclips might flag the comment for spam for being to long)
(2/2) Think about it: the "Generators" in the CNPP (or in the beta map) are almost always associated with the emissions, sometimes even accused of being the cause of them. So what the C-Consciousness might have wanted to do is: 1 - Open a rift in the Noosphere where they could extract ONLY bad thoughts 2 - Using the energy of the bad thoughts (physically translatable to emission energy) to create electrical generators 3 - Defeat the concept of bad thoughts and using them as a source of energy What probably went wrong, might be the fact that the C-Consciousness was not able to filter the thoughts, and the Generators (supposedly make only as source of energy) start to overflow, and release emissions. In the end, that could explain also why the C-Consciousness has some power when controlling the emissions, and when they are gone (the C-Consciousness) in Call of Pripjat, the generators keep filling up with energy until they overflow, and release everything in one shot, making it something regular. One last thing, your theory on emissions influencing the anomalies is very well proven by Call of Pripjat itself in the very end by Strelok.
I feel like watching a well made AAA discovery channel production, quality is great! My little theory is that the unused generators map and the generators in north CNPP are used to manifest most of the noosphere energy, I mean, the structures are filled with anomalies and high burst of energy. If C-conciousness main goal is to prevent the growth of the zone it makes sense that they are not used to keep the breach open.
The idea proposed by Anomalous Dugout on the Noosphere is very similar to my own conclusions about it: the Noosphere is what Carl Gustav Jung referred to as the "Collective Unconsciousness," where we can deposit and withdraw ideas in a manner akin to what Friedrich Nietzsche called the "Eternal Recurrence." If humanity were to, say, settle on the Moon and Mars someday, the next logical argument is for the Noosphere to expand into an Interplanetary "Unus Mundus" (also from Jung). We may even be able to create actual information technologies where people communicate with people in other planets by connecting to the Noosphere.
I do think your conclusions about the Noosphere are sound enough to pass muster. We can argue that what the Group had done to the Noosphere are attempts to "censor" certain thoughts and ideas, failing in the process and creating the Zone as a consequence.
I nearly forgot about the Noosphere itself. The idea of tapping into, what is essentially, a literal web of information and proceeding to crack it, releasing what is now the Zone is interesting. Not to mention that the Zone itself continues to expand thanks to the THOUGHTS that are given by millions of people without even knowing. I hope STALKER 2 goes in depth with this idea or at the very least puts more lore into it.
My theory is that since the goal to mess with the noosphere was to purge mankind from "petty" feelings like greed, hatred and so on, the noosphere (given it might can not just erase such feelings since they are human made/powered, hence information) realized that much of human conflict are due to the desire for a myriad of resources. The main resource demanded in modern times is energy sources, given the whole zone of exclusion is a monument to it. Most of modern wars are "oil wars". We don't have the need for more food input since the food produced can feed the whole world, the problem is distribution/concentration. But energy is a whole other story. Countries hoard oil and attack other countries for their oil as well. There is also the pollution problem that came with energy production. So the noosphere granted us with unlimited sources of power, all kinds: electrical, chemical, heat, etc. If only we can tame said forces and share the knowledge (like our ancestors did with the fire domestication technique) most of our problems as societies and specie are gone! If I'm right (and I don't think I am lol) the wish granter IS the noosphere itself, hence the myth. But, like a genie, it interprets your wish because it can't read your mind. I guess the scientists had a hunch about this and presented six different minds to the noosphere, with six different backgrounds with the same goal. They where kinda naive presuming the noosphere is a moral entity. It can't be, since it gathers ALL the moralities in itself. Maybe, just maybe, the zone is the way the noosphere found to say "oh you wanted unlimited cheap power with this nuclear power plant? Cool, I'll make the zone THE world's power plant!" Let's not forget those where soviet scientists, carrying unconsciously the socialist moral of sharing the wealth. Maybe the noosphere grabbed a hint there. The noosphere doesn't think it did anything wrong. At most it feel misunderstood, since its gift to us became another battlefield for greed people. and a source of fear to everyone. The countermeasure it found was creating the Monolith faction that both praise the zone and kill those the noosphere sees as perverters of its intention. Anyway, fucking video games making me think. Love your channel dude!
Another amazing video! I've been really interested in where the human consciousness resides, some interesting theories amongst the laws of the noosphere. Not sure where it resides, however there are bigger things at play not just us humans and our thoughts, our brains are linked somehow someway to something much bigger that i feel drives the individuals such as the animals and humans. Not sure how humans were at the start of time in terms of thoughts and emotions, not even sure if we evolved from apes with the fight or flight mentality intact from our ape ascension. All round incredibly interesting. I got into stalker late, heard of stalker but was the fallout type fan boy as my profile picture backs up still lol. However always been interested in this stuff, so the stalker universe was absolutely amazing to get into. All round great game and really captures the mysteries of the universe well, let alone human condition linked and mentioned within. Cheers for the upload, Into the zone's video was really bloody good also. Ended up coming away with more questions and theories than answers haha. So that's always a plus, i think it will be some time before we figure this stuff out. Changing peoples emotions and thoughts @ will is insane. Imagine if it was an actual thing tomorrow for example where greed, anger, sadness, etc all ceased to exist. I think there is a balance in all these emotions. Can only imagine how hard it would tip the scales let alone what would come in its stead. New emotions / thoughts / ways of behaving. It's a miracle humans exist, but on the contrary, the laws regarding the survival of life seem to exist for a reason. Bigger things @ play :) Edit: weird thought, would be interesting if the reason for aging is because we are slowly being drained of energy everytime our thoughts and feelings are implanted into the noosphere. Far fetched and out there, but unless light or particles / matter around us, regenerate us to a point, i guess somewhat believable. Not sure if sleep or anything similar such as a rest state would regen energy also as it would to us physically. Perhaps so. I do doubt it, age, oxygen etc, all play roles in the deterioration of us.
Not a scientist myself, but I can add to this theory with an even scarier theory. Earth has a magnetic field and two poles. just like the Bermuda triangle has another "pole" on the exact opposite side of Earth, in the sea near Japan (the devil sea) which has similar properties as the Bermuda triangle. If there is a crack in the noosphere in Ukraine, maybe there is another crack on the exact opposite side of the planet, which has a second zone, which should be under the pacific ocean. Imagine the unspeakable deep sea horrors of that second zone..
Only stalker movie is the non stalker game version. Similar concepts however, yes not the same. Would love to see a stalker movie. Can only imagine how much wide spread attention and traction the global consciousness project would get as a result. Let alone tourism for other reasons apart from a bald and bankrupt / Chernobyl fixations lol.
There's a few reasons i think anomalies and certain phenomenon in the zone mean more than just a release of energy from the noosphere, the main one being that energy is a deceivingly broad term. When Chernobyl melted down it was a nuclear reaction and it released energy in the form of radiation and heat, that is a concrete cause and effect of natural forces having effects on the physical world, radiation hits an object, thus it becomes irradiated. We don't know what the noosphere consists of, if these thoughts and ideas are a substance, a force or even an aspect of nature we can't categorize as either, if this energy leaks into the physical world and powers anomalies, there'd be a sensible and straightforward correlation of what they do, where they happen and for how long, but anomalies are more random than that. I think the noosphere spilling into the physical world effect changes on the physical world on a more fundamental level, for example a fire needs oxygen and fuel to burn, if it burns forever, it's violating causality, conservation of mass, or time, or all three. Anomalies never seem run out of power no matter how much they're activated because there's nothing powering them any more that theres' something powering reality having three dimensions of movement or the flow of time, they're just as much a fact of the world in the space they inhabit. When an anomaly occurs, nature inside of it is not following the rules it does outside of it, so you can have eternal combustions and chemical reactions, crushing gravity occurring in a space affecting a stalker but not plant life or innanimate objects, air and things being moved with nothing and even things like teleportation and time pockets taking place. They don't seem to be fighting nature to exist, they just do. So regarding the noosphere, if it's made of ideas and thoughts, then maybe these thoughts are not figuratively fueling an antinatural phenomenon, but telling reality itself to follow different rules in a way that the world obeys. If someone has a negative thought somewhere that tells the zone to do something. If someone imagines fire a fire happens and it doesn't need to have a source or even burn anything. It puts the idea of the wish granter into a new context if you imagine the zone as a place where the minds of everyone have a real effect, maybe it's a terribly dangerous and dreary place because humanity only pours fear and violence in it.
I understand and respect your idea, but I do not really share it. I do believe that the anomalies are powered, because according to the encyclopedia, they have a lifetime. I think this means that when anomalies run out of energy, they die. But this is just my speculation of course, and perhaps your explanation is much better or more correct, so thanks for writting it.
Hi Anomalous, as always, good video! There're some good topics to speculate with about the noosphere... 1.- What does it implies to be a "sphere"? Can interact with another spheres? 2.- Is it (at least at first) a metaphysical sphere? The how could interact with the physical realm? 3.- This means that there could be another metaphysical spheres? And so on... Of course, if it's metaphysicial the physical laws don't need to apply, but in the moment it became physical then somehow have to do it, thus the anomalies. The source of energy will be highly mixed, and there's a lot of uncertanty. The information produced of human brains is the result of matter and energy interactions, thus is not "created" from the ideas itself, and if it's transferred to the noosphere, then the source of its energy it's our physical realm. This could be undercovered or masked in the heat, usually referred as the "inefficient part of energy transaction". Maybe some of that energy is transferred to the noosphere in someway we can't understand. But if it's a sphere, could be taking energy from another ways... Another thing to think about is that black holes could destroy information itself, but i could not discuss about it right now, but maybe there could be a connection in the creation and destruction of energy and information in the mistery of black holes that could lead us (or take us back) to The Zone.
There are obviously many questions and mysteries for which I'm not able to provide answers. I hope we will learn more in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 so that we can investigate further. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Thanks to you for create a space to talk about it, i'm a fan hehe And yeah, if we could think about it as a comunnity, maybe we could be more close to the C-Cons that we thought and could unreveal the misteries of The Zone.
Its a good theory but I think that the issue with it is the consideration that it is nature that is responsible for the anomalies to spawn where they do. Instead of that, I feel the rift is leaking information IE a hole in the noosphere which correlates the more common-sense thoughts like "Hey that electrical wire might shock you" or "That lake looks full of harmful chemicals" and so on exerting their influence on the physical realm itself. You can see this in the fact that a lot of the Anomalies are scientifically impossible- They're broken laws of nature, not nature seeking to form outward consistency to force energy to reacclimate in those areas. Basically, The reasons that anomalies exist in the fashion they do is because they're literally the exact negative emotions that people fear about- By attempting to remove those aspects from society the C-Consciousness basically established a physical area where those negative emotions can exist entirely. Like the Anomaly that takes you out of space and time and spits out the duty commander- the fear of being lost, The fear of electrocution, the fear of being torn apart, of falling, of being crushed, or so on and so forth. The zone is where negative emotions are not held in check by the Noosphere anymore, so the area essentially acts as a conduit for that negative emotion across the board, coalescing and forming the anomalies in areas that people relate with fear or anxiety. Without the Noosphere to keep negative emotions in check, negative energies congeal and create a destructive environment in the physical realm instead of being dispersed throughout the whole noosphere. Another way of looking at it is the third law of newton- for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction- by the scientists meddling with the sphere itself they essentially turned the area around the CNPP into a conduit for the worst of emotions to take a physical presence- the law of equivalent exchange. In a similar way the mutants of the zone are also basically grotesque abominations because they're what humans fear about animals- Cats are deadly, fast, and hunt you, Dogs use your scent to find you, Psydogs play with their food and so on.
Anomaly is unforgiving. Period. BUT; when you see the big picture of how stuff just is sewn together AND you decide to drop a few mods and tweaks.. you will have a whole new level of the Zone at hand. basic, pure anomaly is a conceptual showcase at best, since it can be, and is probably so rough that it turns people away. but it is truly one of the best attempts at releasing the Zone in its entirety to stalkers.
So, the real end-game of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. should be that all the factions become friendly. Then the noosphere will slowly turn the zone into a good thing. Maybe Freedom was onto something. But they are also just like the Bandits. We'll see. Edit: Or... everyone coming together is not possible in the nature of humankind. And perhaps, Monolith needs to destroy all to remove the evilness. Hmm.. "As long as there are humans, there is war." Double edit: yes, your video now made me join the monolith to kill everyone, thank you. Triple edit; I would also like to express an opinion/thought on the Noosphere. For me it is an interesting philosophy, because I am a very hardcore skeptic of anything that is not explainable by science or is any form of bias-based hypothesis. I wonder, if a noosphere were to exist, it would probably not be impossible to prevent the entry of negative thoughts and emotions, as by nature, there are predatory and prey animals. Also, when I administered Bisphenol A to C. elegans nematodes in the lab the other day, I was inducing reproductive toxicity for the sake of understanding how something like Bisphenol A could do that. These animals, as microscopic and not cute as they are, according to human ethics, are not a big deal to sacrifice in the name of science. Whereas, if an animal is more complex, can have feelings or is "cute' (yes really a criterium), then it is more likely to be unethical (at a given amount, for a certain research goal). If a noosphere existed... well... we would have blown that up with negativity by now haha.

Question : why we monolithians are friends to zombies and sins? Second question : how do stalker's get into the zone while the military is guarding the entrace?
I think the fact that monolithians are partially zombified is the reason why they are neutral with zombies. Sin doesn't appear in the original games so their official affiliation is unknown. I believe it is possible to sneak into the Zone in some areas of the perimeter. However it seems to be much harder to get out.

I don't have that many subscribers actually, so answering comments on RUclips is quite easy. A Discord server on the other hand, is something I would never be able to manage. That's why I won't make one.
Why would you be unable to manage it? I'm sure some people would be glad to moderate or contribute in other ways. Even if about a hundred people join, the server could be a place of sharing ideas or theories and helping beginners who only recently picked up stalker. Sure, it might die out, but it's worth giving a try before heart of chernobyl. Don't you thin?
Wait, how'd you get into the stadium? Maybe its just my game but everytime I move from pripyat to the npp it skips the stadium... is it a mod youre using or is my game for some reason just broken? But that wouldn't make sense as I own the steam version of shadow of chernobyl. Anyhow, great video and keep it up man.
Don’t go through the main entrance of the stadium. Instead, on both the left and right sides of the stadium are metal fences that you can go through. That way, you can explore the place and get all those artifacts without triggering the cutscene/level transition.

So, what you suggest is that by throwing different types of objects into anomalies, we could in theory create artifacts. Well I think this might be possible, but there are probably other phenomenons entering into play that we don't really understand. For example, the role of blowouts in the formation of artifacts.

If the anamoly types depends upon the surrouding, then how would you explain the toilet fire anamoly ? lol The only possible explaination that I can think of is stalkers eatting hot and spicy Indian food.
I think that the surrounding conditions increase the chance of certain anomalies to spawn, but it is not always 100% accurate. What I mean is that, for example, fire anomalies are more likely to appear in hot/flammable areas, but it is also possible that such areas do not have any fire anomalies, and some fire anomalies can also appear in completely different areas. But this is just my theory, who knows what is really going on...
I love the concept of the other layer of reality for cosmic horror purposes, but the more I look into people talking about the noosphere in reality, i just see a bunch of damned hippies concocting pure fantasy and wishful thinking.

Considering that the exclusion Zone is supposed to have none inside, the C-Consciousness' scientists might thought of using this to make the Zone a FILTER of bad thoughts and emotions.
(continue in the comments because RUclips might flag the comment for spam for being to long)
(2/2)
Think about it: the "Generators" in the CNPP (or in the beta map) are almost always associated with the emissions, sometimes even accused of being the cause of them.
So what the C-Consciousness might have wanted to do is:
1 - Open a rift in the Noosphere where they could extract ONLY bad thoughts
2 - Using the energy of the bad thoughts (physically translatable to emission energy) to create electrical generators
3 - Defeat the concept of bad thoughts and using them as a source of energy
What probably went wrong, might be the fact that the C-Consciousness was not able to filter the thoughts, and the Generators (supposedly make only as source of energy) start to overflow, and release emissions.
@@The_D_ray Thanks for your insights, they make a lot of sense.
Thanks. While we don't know for sure what the generators are for, it is clear that they have a connection with the crack in the Noosphere.
@@catholicryanite432 Alright, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Yes, that's for sure some interesting stuff.
Cool, I'll make the zone THE world's power plant!"
Let's not forget those where soviet scientists, carrying unconsciously the socialist moral of sharing the wealth.
Alright, thanks for sharing your interesting thoughts!
Bigger things @ play :)
Edit: weird thought, would be interesting if the reason for aging is because we are slowly being drained of energy everytime our thoughts and feelings are implanted into the noosphere.
Thanks for the comment, it was interesting to read your thoughts :)
That's an interesting theory indeed, thanks for sharing!
A crack is not a dipole.
Finally we find some more out about the Noosphere, it's always interesting to hear your theories and things you've found out
Thanks, I had to make up a lot of things since there is almost no Lore on the Noosphere.
With all such amazing repository of S.T.A.L.K.E.R lore, I am surprised there is no movie made yet. 11/10 would watch if made.
I guess the west is not interested enough. But perhaps this will change with the arrival of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, who knows?
Only stalker movie is the non stalker game version. Similar concepts however, yes not the same. Would love to see a stalker movie. Can only imagine how much wide spread attention and traction the global consciousness project would get as a result. Let alone tourism for other reasons apart from a bald and bankrupt / Chernobyl fixations lol.

This has to be the best explanation for this topic I've ever seen in the internet. Well done mate, love your channel, subscribed immediatly!!!
Glad you liked it thanks.
Great explanation my friend I hope you will continue making videos when STALKER 2 is out:)
Thanks, we'll see about that.
your light and fire theory makes sense to me

Thank you stalker.
Me expecting to see an old video.
Sees video date 2021.
Happy cheeki breeki noises.
It's never too late to talk about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in my opinion.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Thanks to you for create a space to talk about it, i'm a fan hehe
And yeah, if we could think about it as a comunnity, maybe we could be more close to the C-Cons that we thought and could unreveal the misteries of The Zone.
I've just started to play stalker anomaly, never have I played a more rage - inducing game.
But have you played the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games?
@@anomalousdugout9557 yes of course, I believe this is an unpopular opinion but clear sky was my favourite.
@@simjammed1868 Alright, I respect that. I myself love Clear Sky as well.

Earth have a Collective Consciousness in Stalker Lore? gonna have to put the Serial Experiments Lain OST in the game now
Well yes, it does. It is directly connected with the appearance of the Zone.
Hmm.. "As long as there are humans, there is war."
Double edit: yes, your video now made me join the monolith to kill everyone, thank you.
Alright, it was interesting reading your thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

So, what you suggest is that by throwing different types of objects into anomalies, we could in theory create artifacts. The only possible explaination that I can think of is stalkers eatting hot and spicy Indian food.
