While marking a new queen I saw something I have not seen before. She appeared to be dead and I was afraid I squashed her despite being very careful handling her.
Sometimes I mark them, and sometimes not. It is handy, especially in large hives or to keep track of this year’s queens versus last year’s. I usually use a tool that looks like a pill bottle but wanted to try something new. I’ve gone back to the pill bottle 😂 Thansk for watching!
@scottthornandhisbeesandtrees when you point your finger to the queen, that's where to point the camera. I'm not trying to be rude. I'm giving constructive feedback. This is what people want to see when you are talking about the queen. I'm sorry you are offended. I imagine its quite difficult to direct your videos! You could just acknowledge your limitations. There's plenty of beekeeping channels here. I like your laid back commentary in general. Good luck!
I have 3 queens to mark this year, but I keep going back and forth as to if I really want to bother. Thanks for the video

Maybe the marker pen is toxic?
She’s ok now, my guess was the stress of having a giant pick her up and hold her. Thanks for watching!
Better bee keeper than video. We're ally don't get a good view of her outside the marking.
Are you rude to people in person too, or just on the internet?
