Stunning in it's simplicity, possibly a definitive performance of this favourite song.
Maura o'connall's version on transatlantic sessions takes some beating but this is up there but the sound quality on the actual concert vid at folkeast is much better 😊
One of the loveliest versions of this song I have ever heard; reminds me of when my own dear mother would sing it for me when I was a boy.
Memories of my old dad's party piece at New Year, miss him..
Awesome, touches my heart!
Down by the Salley Gardens is a well-known Irish folk song - just one of the collection arranged by Benjamin Britten, and published in 1943. Words by William Butler Yeats telling of leaves, grass, natural imagery, and a tragic story of young love bring this music to life
I’ve heard a hundred versions of this poem-song…first time filled with tears.
Such a wonderful song.
Very nice rendition, one of the best I have heard
Beautifully and simply played and sung, well done 👏👏👏👏
Great acoustics ,the sound reverberating off the walls makes for a nice touch.
Lovely work!!
I hear you again and again, it is such a wonderful performance !
Love the song and outstanding performance!
I don't believe in Angels , but if I did, they would all sound like Miss Priddy .
真美~ 虽然我听不懂歌词,但音乐真的很打动人,女声的和音也非常完美~
Wow! Literally sends chills down my spine…

Down by the salley gardens
My love and I did meet
She crossed the salley gardens
With little snow-white feet
She bid me to take life easy
As the leaves grow on the tree
But I was young and foolish
And with her I did not agree
In a field down by the river
My love and I did stand
And upon my leaning shoulder
She laid her snow-white hand
She bid me take life easy
As the grass grows on the weirs
But I was young and foolish
And now I am full of tears
It was down by the salley gardens
My love and I did meet
She crossed the salley gardens
With little snow-white feet
She bid me to take life easy
As the leaves grow on the tree
But I was young and foolish
And with her I did not agree
soo beautiful 🤎

What Is It the istrument that the man play?
this is not traditional song, this is WB Yeats poem
Tradition is ongoing and participatory, otherwise it would cease to a be tradition.
