I think the reason we see og colorways drop in value after a retro comes out is because unlike cards, shoes deteriorate. Most people would rather have a new pair they can rock for the next 10 years or so than an og that would fall apart after a few wears, so the og starts to lose that value advantage once that happens.
Another reason could be that once that rerelease comes out people who were tryna get the OG's off for a stack had no choice but to lower it to get that old ass pair off knowing people already got or are getting the new releases; so why pay a stack for an old pair now.
