I think the main reason for the 2021 version getting more votes is because your audience is most likely new sneakerheads. We weren't around in 2006 so we have no attachment to the 2006 version.
That’s true but the shape of the new looks better compared to 06 bent shape. Plus the new ones are more wearable cause they are slightly muted compared to the 06 pair.

The taller bulkier mid foot + slim toe box. I LOVE IT. Makes my fire red 4’s look horrible when I noticed how small/short they are.
Ignoring the price difference and any historic significance, the new version just looks better. Hopefully the materials feel reasonable but I've heard nothing special about the previous iteration. 2006s were all about the yellow and I honestly think the new ones are a better colour. Not to hype because I want my pair; just saying.

The 06 have the older style tongue tag with the wonky lookin jumpman, with his skinny arm and ankle etc. I’m so glad they fixed that on newer shoes. Just one of those small details that important to me I guess
Retro cards I do have, air jordan 2 mike in the white jump suit, air jordan 4 moke at the park, air jordan 6 mike as a comic book hero, aor jordan 8 mike in space, air jordan 9 mike in Carolina uniform, air jordan 11 mike dunking, air jordan 12 mike in the master pic, air jordan 13 mike and a black panther, air jordan 14 last shot, this is all off the top of my brain, those are the cards I own

I don't like how the recent Jordan nubuck shoes look wrinkled like grandpa skin before even worn. OGs does get creases also but not wrinkles like the new shoes also the 2021 cool grey 11 have the same wrinkled effect
I think Nike is going to do this more times. Repeat models after 10 years or more so that resales do not skyrocket. It is outrageous that some shoes today count 250 and in 3 years 1500 for example
