Everyone underestimates Celestia because she chooses to be the diplomat, the peacemaker and the voice of reason. They all forget that she represent the sun in all its facets. From its nurturing life giving gentle heat to its world destroying fury. Luna may freeze you to death with her eternal night, but Celestia will burn you to cinders or worse if she is merciful.
That also explains thematically why she seems so hands off in the show. The sun stands far back, lest it incinerate everything, instead providing guiding light, warmth and makes sure you have a world to defend in the first place.

This song kind of has a "Let It Go" effect to me. That was originally supposed to be a "villain" song but it ended up becoming a song about empowerment. Similarly, this almost makes Daybreaker sound heroic.
@@platinumgames1314 I'm not completely positive on this because I'm going based on unused storyboards and generalized details, but I'm pretty sure the idea was supposed to be Elsa herself was an "icy-hearted" person who pretty much was callous and uncaring, who unveiled her powers because she was sick of having to be a "good and proper" queen. The true "melting of the frozen heart" was supposed to be when she saw that her heartless nature endangered the life of Anna, the only person who still loved her, and her own sacrifice was supposed to "melt" her heart and get her to stop the winter of her own free will. But...going that route would have committed an unforgiveable sin in the world of Disney: making it look as if female empowerment, in some situations, was actually a BAD thing... Almost like, you know, empowerment is good or bad based on the individual as opposed to their gender. (Eye roll)
This sounds like a friggin' epic theme song. It's rather calm yet it's got that empowering feel to it. Even if you can understand the lyrics you still get that feeling of empowerment. It's absolutely beautiful.

Five minutes later: really loud slapping can be heard. Luna slapped her sister so hard that she turn the back into her original self everybody cheers the end

I just wanna say I FRIGGEN LOVE that daybreaker design. It really makes her look like a pantheon deity while I get more of a "super villain" vibe from her official design. Plus it's a great parallel to Nightmare Moon's design as well. The song itself is also amazing!
Actually, that's a reference to the music group; 'Two Steps From Hell', a music group that makes some of the most awesome, epic, thrilling, action-packed and breathtaking music for movie trailers, videogame trailers, tv show trailers, and they've even branched out into making official soundtracks for audiobooks and a movie or two.
When I noticed that she had eyes like a kind Celestia, I realized that this was not a nightmare in Java that somehow leaked into Equestria, but the acceptance of her ego by 100 percent. We have always seen only the warm rays of Princess Celestia. Now we have seen the real heat of the scorching sun that everyone will feel. The strongest alicorn of Equestria and the whole world is a pony, the bearer of the sun who elevated his singularity to the ideal. Not a princess, the queen of the sun is Celestia, which means divine.
My guess on Celestria transformation into Daybreaker... Maybe it was a combination of the eternal years that got to her, Daybreaker must have manifested from Celestia’s desire to become an all mighty Goddess, there must have been a moment in her life were she felt that her authority was challenged and when Celestia snapped she turned into Daybreaker, there must have been a time in Celestia’s life where ponies treating her like a Goddess, worshiping her ability to make the sun rise bringing light and warmth with it both adored and feared the ponies must have built temples...at some point in time she was banished, came back and reclaimed everything as Daybreaker... Years passed, some ponies showed Daybreaker the power of friendship brought Celestia’s back...A side note to remember that Celestia was for the most part ruling Equestria on her own all that weight of responsibility for both the sun and the moon ...(after Luna was banished )... must have tired Celestia out so she passed away in the night. I know it seems wired but that’s my take on it...remember when Luna turned the Nightmare Moon.
After MLP ending and watching Luna and Celestia teaming up and solving friendship problem. Those two were basically muscling everything. Celestia knows how to play politics but just going Rambo on a situations seems like her true nature but she's really good at hiding it. Forget convincing Luna to join the dark side you'll have a better chance with Celestia, she's a caged beast starving for true freedom.

Quietly, a high-ranking Earth Pony (a full General, to be exact) made his way to the back of the headquarters, finding one of his intelligence captains. He didn't fully trust his staff intelligence officer with what he was about to say. "Captain, listen very carefully." He handed the captain - a unicorn - a small piece of paper. "It's got my clearance to the intelligence archives and a list of keywords. I need you to find anything in that clearance level related to those phrases." "Of course, General," the Unicorn acknowledged, taking the paper. "But, why me?" "Because I know you're the best of any of my staff, and I can't risk going through official channels." "Sir, if you're considering what I think-" "Don't," the General cut him off.
The Unicorn returned with several files in tow. "I have what you asked for," he said. "Good job, Captain. Don't tell anyone else about this unless I say so. You know nothing." "Of course, sir." He saluted and left. The general could remember the day when Daybreaker had "ascended," to use the term that some of the Solar Cultists employed. He'd been in Royal Guard headquarters with his immediate superior (who was now the overall commander of the Solar Guard) when the message had come through. Of course, his own HQ had picked up a second, different message: "AUTHENTICATION [REDACTED]: CASE YELLOW, CASE YELLOW. ALL ROYAL GUARD FORCES, CASE YELLOW. POSSIBLE TYPE-3 TRANSFIGURATION EVENT, SUBJECT: PRINCESS CELESTIA. CELESTIA AND SOLAR CULT ILLEGITIMATE, DO NOT TRUST-" The message abruptly terminated. His staff had asked him what to do. He had destroyed the message and pretended that he'd never gotten it. But quietly, he'd begun reaching out... He looked at the first paper. His eyes widened at the first lines: "To: Royal Guard Headquarters Subject: Possible Case JUNEBUG." That was bad. That was very, very bad. JUNEBUG was the Royal Guard's contingency for hostile force (i.e. a cult of utter zealots) infiltrating its ranks and subverting it from within. A file with a copy of said plan and its various permutations was next. After that, an intelligence dossier on several ponies whose names he recognized. 'Those are Cult members!" he thought. Commanding officer of 2nd Manehattan Regiment assassinated by second-in-command. New commander rejects Daybreaker's Authority. Hollow Shades garrison not responding. Equestrian Navy Manehattan Squadron mutinies. Equestrian Navy First Air Flotilla engaged in fratricidal combat, situation unclear. Three-fifths of Navy Southern Fleet have responded to orders. One-fifth appears to have sailed for foreign harbors, with the remainder sailing for rebellious ports. Contact lost with 44th Combined Regiment in Dodge Junction. Last transmissions indicate regiment surrounded. Solar Cult has begun loyalty sweeps in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Independent Rifle Brigades. Navy Central Fleet engaged in combat with itself and other vessels. Latter vessels identified as belonging to Northern Fleet. The Northern Fleet has not responded to any commands or messages. The Earth Pony was now 2IC-SOL (Second-in-Command - Solar). He became increasingly withdrawn as the war progressed. He kept sending out covert messages, establishing contacts. Building a network. A knock sounded from the office door. He locked one of his desk's drawers, not wanting to risk someone seeing him with the papers he had collected. "Come in," he ordered. An aide entered, deposited a slip of paper, explained that it was a message for his eyes only, and left. Curious, 2IC-SOL picked up the paper and read it. "I know what you're doing. You know that Daybreaker has to be stopped. Don't deny it. I've seen your plans for Case BLACK SUN. You're not the only one. I've included a way for you to get in touch with me. Memorize it and destroy this message, General. -R3aPER."

After Celestia learned of the murder of Twilight, her anger grew to the point of blind uncontrollable rage, she ordered every soldier to scour every inch of Equestria. The Princess of the Sun donned with the most brilliant of golden armor took flight with pure burning hatred in her heart, the sun itself now blood red burning multiple times hotter than it ever has before bathed the land with a eerie red hue, the once calm and kind hearted ruler of Equestria now lost to the undying bloodlust. For the first time in her life, the thought of peace had all but left her mind, she was out to kill.

The reason why I love Celestia as well as Daybreaker.. They have an important role of handling the Sun which is the main reason why Earth has life yet what always been acknowledged/praised is just the Moon (whereas the Moon only got its light from the Sun). Plus, the mlp community did a great job at coming up with their theme songs! 💖

I found you through the remix of Flamethrone Legacy with Michelle and Gabe, I came across Nightmare Moon from a few days ago and really started looking, and then I found THIS glorious piece...and I just can't find something else like it that truly matches both its power and grandiose glory. I’m imagining an animation for this, where Daybreaker doesn’t appear until the first “Burning eye of the Sky”, at why point she rises up from behind her army or something, wings beating to the tune of the music, scattering embers with every flap as she rises higher, looming over her foes with that sinister grin.
This likely will never be seen, but as someone who knows nothing about MLP and couldn't care less about it (Nothing against those who like it, to each their own, just not my thing) this song is amazing, i love it, the pure energy in it and the lyrics are done very well, good work!

One of my favorites from you & having Felicia on here was amazing, her chilling vocals & your instrumentation is lovely. The amount of effort & hard work that was put into this is astonishing & it really is interesting to hear the story behind this track & the story of this track! Really love the idea & concept that you went for with Daybreaker, though it's really even more amazing to kind of see & hear what you were envisioning. The idea of Daybreaker's reign pursuing & the cult regarding that is a brilliant concept that is fitted for this. Also the priest that worship her tooooooo, ahhhh that's such goodness!!!!! The track already starts with the intensity of the strings that really show the proud attitude of it as Daybreaker rises. The power in this track is really great, the percussion that drives it forward as with the really strikey strings!!! 0:31, yesssssss that melody is so enchanting, I really love this a lot. Then when Felicia's vocals come in, they're so charming soooo much! The attitude & tone while she sing really brings this together as to have that sound of victory towards it & confidence as the reign begins. 1:20, I really love how wide this feels & empowering too with all the strings & vocal harmonies & just all those things that come together to really get your heart beating with this!! 1:45, woooo the drums in here are fun, I really love the grand & huge sound that the strings have in here, it really surrounds you & as almost the army of Daybreaker spreads & really encompasses the land. 2:30, yesssssssssssss, Felicia omg, I love how she's sung this with her gorgeous voice & the little vocal improv with the humming & just wow
This is so amazing! Had my hairs stand on edge. Her vocals and the instruments really blend well together. Don't get me started on the intro, the moment the violins started to play, I was hooked immediately. Looking forward to more!
It almost sounds hopeful, like a heroic song you'd hear of the day beating back the darkest of night... if it wasn't tied to Daybreaker. I could even see Daybreaker portraying that way, as propaganda against Luna and the like. Everyone adores the light & warnth of the sun... until it burns them away to simple ash.

Es fühlt sich an, wie der Start einer langen Reise, doch keine Reise im negativen Sinne. Ein Aufbruch in eine neue Zeit, in ein neues Leben. Dieses Lied ist wirklich sehr inspirierend. Guess we know where Flame Twilight came from she picked up a really light white coat, red eyes, and a flaming mane both Daybreaker and Flame Twilight share these chracteristics it even changes their cutiemark slightly.

That moment when you realize that the being that moves the sun is capable of moving it MUCH closer.
This song kind of has a "Let It Go" effect to me. That was originally supposed to be a "villain" song but it ended up becoming a song about empowerment. Similarly, this almost makes Daybreaker sound heroic.

@@platinumgames1314 I'm not completely positive on this because I'm going based on unused storyboards and generalized details, but I'm pretty sure the idea was supposed to be Elsa herself was an "icy-hearted" person who pretty much was callous and uncaring, who unveiled her powers because she was sick of having to be a "good and proper" queen. The true "melting of the frozen heart" was supposed to be when she saw that her heartless nature endangered the life of Anna, the only person who still loved her, and her own sacrifice was supposed to "melt" her heart and get her to stop the winter of her own free will.
But...going that route would have committed an unforgiveable sin in the world of Disney: making it look as if female empowerment, in some situations, was actually a BAD thing... Almost like, you know, empowerment is good or bad based on the individual as opposed to their gender. (Eye roll)

I just wanna say I FRIGGEN LOVE that daybreaker design. It really makes her look like a pantheon deity while I get more of a "super villain" vibe from her official design. Plus it's a great parallel to Nightmare Moon's design as well. The song itself is also amazing!

When I noticed that she had eyes like a kind Celestia, I realized that this was not a nightmare in Java that somehow leaked into Equestria, but the acceptance of her ego by 100 percent. We have always seen only the warm rays of Princess Celestia. Now we have seen the real heat of the scorching sun that everyone will feel. The strongest alicorn of Equestria and the whole world is a pony, the bearer of the sun who elevated his singularity to the ideal. Not a princess, the queen of the sun is Celestia, which means divine.
My guess on Celestria transformation into Daybreaker...
Maybe it was a combination of the eternal years that got to her, Daybreaker must have manifested from Celestia’s desire to become an all mighty Goddess, there must have been a moment in her life were she felt that her authority was challenged and when Celestia snapped she turned into Daybreaker, there must have been a time in Celestia’s life where ponies treating her like a Goddess, worshiping her ability to make the sun rise bringing light and warmth with it both adored and feared the ponies must have built temples...at some point in time she was banished, came back and reclaimed everything as Daybreaker... Years passed, some ponies showed Daybreaker the power of friendship brought Celestia’s back...A side note to remember that Celestia was for the most part ruling Equestria on her own all that weight of responsibility for both the sun and the moon ...(after Luna was banished )... must have tired Celestia out so she passed away in the night.
I know it seems wired but that’s my take on it...remember when Luna turned the Nightmare Moon.

Those two were basically muscling everything. Celestia knows how to play politics but just going Rambo on a situations seems like her true nature but she's really good at hiding it. Forget convincing Luna to join the dark side you'll have a better chance with Celestia, she's a caged beast starving for true freedom.

Quietly, a high-ranking Earth Pony (a full General, to be exact) made his way to the back of the headquarters, finding one of his intelligence captains. He didn't fully trust his staff intelligence officer with what he was about to say.
"Captain, listen very carefully." He handed the captain - a unicorn - a small piece of paper. "It's got my clearance to the intelligence archives and a list of keywords. I need you to find anything in that clearance level related to those phrases."
"Of course, General," the Unicorn acknowledged, taking the paper. "But, why me?"
"Because I know you're the best of any of my staff, and I can't risk going through official channels."
"Sir, if you're considering what I think-"
"Don't," the General cut him off.
The Unicorn returned with several files in tow. "I have what you asked for," he said.
"Good job, Captain. Don't tell anyone else about this unless I say so. You know nothing."
"Of course, sir." He saluted and left.
The general could remember the day when Daybreaker had "ascended," to use the term that some of the Solar Cultists employed. He'd been in Royal Guard headquarters with his immediate superior (who was now the overall commander of the Solar Guard) when the message had come through. Of course, his own HQ had picked up a second, different message:
"AUTHENTICATION [REDACTED]:
CASE YELLOW, CASE YELLOW. ALL ROYAL GUARD FORCES, CASE YELLOW. POSSIBLE TYPE-3 TRANSFIGURATION EVENT, SUBJECT: PRINCESS CELESTIA. CELESTIA AND SOLAR CULT ILLEGITIMATE, DO NOT TRUST-" The message abruptly terminated.
His staff had asked him what to do. He had destroyed the message and pretended that he'd never gotten it. But quietly, he'd begun reaching out...
He looked at the first paper. His eyes widened at the first lines:
"To: Royal Guard Headquarters
Subject: Possible Case JUNEBUG."
That was bad. That was very, very bad. JUNEBUG was the Royal Guard's contingency for hostile force (i.e. a cult of utter zealots) infiltrating its ranks and subverting it from within. A file with a copy of said plan and its various permutations was next. After that, an intelligence dossier on several ponies whose names he recognized. 'Those are Cult members!" he thought. 'Why wasn't any of this distributed to the Guard? I had the clearance for this!' More readings on forbidden texts and warnings from ancient days. It all started to come together.
CENTCOM update shortly after the declaration of Daybreaker's reign:
"Manehattan garrison forces report widespread mutinies, riots in the streets.
Majority of forces in Canterlot have sworn allegiance to Daybreaker. Night Guards have been detained.
Commanding officers of 58th and 66th Divisions pledge fealty to new government.
Commanding officer of 2nd Manehattan Regiment assassinated by second-in-command. New commander rejects Daybreaker's Authority.
Hollow Shades garrison not responding.
Equestrian Navy Manehattan Squadron mutinies. Equestrian Navy First Air Flotilla engaged in fratricidal combat, situation unclear. Three-fifths of Navy Southern Fleet have responded to orders. One-fifth appears to have sailed for foreign harbors, with the remainder sailing for rebellious ports.
Contact lost with 44th Combined Regiment in Dodge Junction. Last transmissions indicate regiment surrounded.
Solar Cult has begun loyalty sweeps in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Independent Rifle Brigades.
Navy Central Fleet engaged in combat with itself and other vessels. Latter vessels identified as belonging to Northern Fleet. The Northern Fleet has not responded to any commands or messages. Status unknown.
Majority of border ground and air forces are not intervening; many will not swear allegiance to Daybreaker but are making no moves to involve themselves.
Princess Luna rejecting Daybreaker's lawful orders and encouraging others to do the same. As a result, SOLGUARD forces are to execute Case BLACKLIGHT.

The Earth Pony was now 2IC-SOL (Second-in-Command - Solar). He became increasingly withdrawn as the war progressed. He kept sending out covert messages, establishing contacts. Building a network.
A knock sounded from the office door. He locked one of his desk's drawers, not wanting to risk someone seeing him with the papers he had collected. "Come in," he ordered.
An aide entered, deposited a slip of paper, explained that it was a message for his eyes only, and left. Curious, 2IC-SOL picked up the paper and read it.
"I know what you're doing. You know that Daybreaker has to be stopped. Don't deny it. I've seen your plans for Case BLACK SUN. You're not the only one. I've included a way for you to get in touch with me. Memorize it and destroy this message, General.
-R3aPER."

Taking out a key, John pushed it in a keyhole. When he turned it, a big grumble came from the facility.
An announcement came.

John moved to another machine and pressed a red button named ZX-9. An Earth-shattering roar was heard.

If Celestia was blinding when she wasn't evil, she is literally blinding now.
After Celestia learned of the murder of Twilight, her anger grew to the point of blind uncontrollable rage, she ordered every soldier to scour every inch of Equestria. The Princess of the Sun donned with the most brilliant of golden armor took flight with pure burning hatred in her heart, the sun itself now blood red burning multiple times hotter than it ever has before bathed the land with a eerie red hue, the once calm and kind hearted ruler of Equestria now lost to the undying bloodlust. For the first time in her life, the thought of peace had all but left her mind, she was out to kill.

I found you through the remix of Flamethrone Legacy with Michelle and Gabe, I came across Nightmare Moon from a few days ago and really started looking, and then I found THIS glorious piece...and I just can't find something else like it that truly matches both its power and grandiose glory. Absolutely brilliant, and hats off to Felicia, as well, what a voice!
The only thing holding this idea, is that in the episode, it was just a dream, or rather a nightmare.
I hear a story from the other side in the song too, this is what came to me, may Tia find peace.
As the sun goes down on my last night, I stand witness, and see the sun of the night takes flight, I see her start to burn from the inside out, as the flames them self seen to bow the her every whim, as the shear terrifying glace of the flame, over majesty of as all, this warrior stands before me, as I fell into depth fall away into shadow, I move as quickly as possible in full armor, to reclaim the right of my Princess and to prove that all is not lost, however, I do not prevail, and the goddess of fire and flame is too much for a mortal such as me, I can not with stand the flame of light, as it give me away to pain and time, that seem eternal to me.

Yessss, this track is one that filled all my definitions of amazing!! You two made for a wonderful track that was super wonderful to hear as with really well done! One of my favorites from you & having Felicia on here was amazing, her chilling vocals & your instrumentation is lovely. The amount of effort & hard work that was put into this is astonishing & it really is interesting to hear the story behind this track & the story of this track! Really love the idea & concept that you went for with Daybreaker, though it's really even more amazing to kind of see & hear what you were envisioning. The idea of Daybreaker's reign pursuing & the cult regarding that is a brilliant concept that is fitted for this. Also the priest that worship her tooooooo, ahhhh that's such goodness!!!!!
The track already starts with the intensity of the strings that really show the proud attitude of it as Daybreaker rises. The power in this track is really great, the percussion that drives it forward as with the really strikey strings!!! 0:31, yesssssss that melody is so enchanting, I really love this a lot. Then when Felicia's vocals come in, they're so charming soooo much! The attitude & tone while she sing really brings this together as to have that sound of victory towards it & confidence as the reign begins. 1:20, I really love how wide this feels & empowering too with all the strings & vocal harmonies & just all those things that come together to really get your heart beating with this!! 1:45, woooo the drums in here are fun, I really love the grand & huge sound that the strings have in here, it really surrounds you & as almost the army of Daybreaker spreads & really encompasses the land. 2:30, yesssssssssssss, Felicia omg, I love how she's sung this with her gorgeous voice & the little vocal improv with the humming & just wow

I could even see Daybreaker portraying that way, as propaganda against Luna and the like.

Dieses Lied ist wirklich sehr inspirierend. Melodie und Gesang könnten kaum besser ineinander greifen. Kurz um, es ist wahrhaft grossartig diesem Machwerk zu zuhören. Ein wirklich sehr grosses Lob an beide Künstler.

Two Steps from Hell is one of the bands I listen to all the time when I'm not listening to pony music, so hearing Felicia Farerre singing a Daybreaker song is nothing short of incredible!

This is an amazing piece, and Felicia's voice is perfect for this (I'm a big 2SfH fan, and her songs with them are some of my favorites). Captures the tone of what Daybreaker could be perfectly.
