    Sprinting is a passion. To run fast you have to want it bad. You have to be like a mad bull in a cage before the start but at the same time run freely. Once you're in the final, training doesn't matter anymore, as Mo Greene says, everyone in the final has the physical ability to win, the most mentally prepared wins. I have personally given a difference of 0.4 seconds per 100m in just a few weeks. Physically I was the same but mentally not, I was crazy because I failed the sprint. You have to strongly believe that you are number 1 and train like you are number 2, otherwise you are done. It is also very important not to train too much before the important competition to be fresh! Everything is possible in this world! Believe in God!

    what if my school doesn’t have a sprint coach and the distance coach is the one running the sprinters workouts? I don’t train with my school anymore because the coach makes the 100m 200m short sprinters do mileage everyday and nothing under 120m. Am I still supposed to listen to my coach even if he has no idea how sprint workouts are supposed to be operated?

    • @port8296
      @port8296 Год назад

      For context, this is how my high school coach ran practices for short sprinters the week before regionals:
      Monday - 800 breakdowns (max effort 800, jog 700m, max effort 600m, jog 500m, etc all the way to 200m)
      Tuesday - 5x broken down 500 (sprint 300, jog 100, all out on the last 100m), tells my teammates that it “increases top end speed”
      Wednesday - 8x150m stride outs + weight room
      Thursday - 600m breakdowns (same thing as 800 breakdowns just shorter)
      Friday (day before races) - 8x150 stride outs + PLYOMETRICS AND 30 LB SLEDS

      Can somebody give me advice on how to ask my coach to change his workouts? I feel like he’s unapproachable because he’s supported these types of workouts for over a decade. He hasn’t coached anybody faster than 11.3 but he still forces me to do their mileage workouts. He kicked me off the team this season because of low practice attendance but he decided to do it right before state qualifiers so I couldn’t compete. Am I in the wrong? I want to improve my time down from 10.74 to 10.5 but I dont feel like that’s achievable by training with my high school coach.

    • @kingsleysc
      @kingsleysc  Год назад

      Why not join a track club? I didn’t train with my high school coach because i had a club coach train on the same track who knew more about sprinting and developing talent. See if you can find a club coach locally and do your sprint workouts with them instead.

    Is track 🏃🏽‍♂️ , mostly about talent ?

    • @kingsleysc
      @kingsleysc  Год назад

      It’s definitely a difference maker but at the top level, most times the talent is pretty close and it’s about the mental strength and work ethic

    A lot times... guys will run fast or have a quick PB and think they'll just continue to get faster and faster with their own Slow AF average self, when in fact... if they would simply BE Aaron Brown💡 they'll find themselves in the rare and exclusive Sub-10 & Sub-20 Club. It's that easy.... 😏
