One more thing to add: things to spend your money on, like houses or properties. At the end of the game you have like 1 milion+ and nothing to do with it except weapons and other minor stuff.

I can forgive the lack of detail in the cars, but the nonexistent car customization in my opinion feel like a missed opportunity. For as much as I like GTA 4 for its story and attention to detail, there are some things I wanted that weren't there.
If Rockstar ever released an updated definitive edition of GTA IV they should improve it adding the things players disliked about the original. For me it would be adding a lot of the beta stuff into the game. More options for clothing. Vehical customization. Ability to purchase businesses / properties, an option to switch between the 3 protagonists (like GTA V), garages to store vehicles instead of parking them in bays, unlockable outfits of all GTA protagonists and more. Rockstar shouldn't let this game die on old consoles.

My biggest complaint which is less a GTA 4 complaint and more a GTA as a whole complaint is the fact that this doesn’t have checkpoints and every time you die or fail it’s right back to the start.
5 Things I hated about GTA IV: 1. The friendship feature: I hated always getting phone calls from Niko's friends asking me if I wanted to hang out. You have the option to decline, but the problem was that your friendship progress would decrease when you did so. The more the level of friendship decreased, the longer it took you to get those benefits each character provided when you reached 100% friendship with them. The worst part is they usually tended to call when you were busy, such as focusing on missions. Then, it always seemed that when I had time and called *them,* they rarely wanted to do anything! 2. Lack of activities: San Andreas had a ton of things that you could do, from racing in stadiums, taxi, ambulance, police, and firefighter sub-missions, and gang wars. You could also do things such as gamble at casinos, vehicle customization, robbing houses at night, and a ton of other things to make cash and keep you occupied when not doing missions. GTA IV took away a lot of these features and left you with nothing much to do when you finished the story missions. 3. Borderline pointless money: In the other games, you could use your money to buy things such as safehouses, which came in handy when you needed to quickly get to your save point or lose your wanted levels. In GTA IV, Niko is always talking about how he needs money and the game so generously gives you a lot of money for doing missions, but you don't have much to spend it on other than weapons, food to recover health, and Pay and Spray trips, which doesn't even cost that much. 4. Repetitive missions: San Andreas had a variety of cool missions, such as almost every mission CJ did for Mike Toreno, which made CJ seem like something from a James Bond movie. Most of the missions in GTA IV just seemed to be Niko chasing crooks from point A to point B until the chase ends, and then killing them. It's fun when you played it at first, especially with the better graphics, but gets predictable and tiring after awhile. 5. Driving physics: From what I noticed when I first started playing, the cars in the game seemed to stop like trains and a lot of the cars drove as if they were driving on ice at times. This wasn't too much of a problem, as I eventually got used to it, but it got annoying at times during the chase missions, which was nearly all the missions. Even though I hated these things about GTA IV, I still loved the game. It was the first game that I got when my mom bought my PS3 for me back then and it kept me entertained for a long time. I plan on playing it again one day for old times sake.

I played gta 4 for a long time and I'm agree with what you said in this video. My biggest regret is the lack of contryside, and the lack of planes. It could be boring if you know exactly each side, each corner of the map of Liberty City. To have a countryside, mountain, forest... could be very nice in this game.

I expected a "Let's go bowling" joke, but anyways. For me, it's lack of character and vehicle customization, lack of planes, low amount of weapons, low amount of side missions and activities, no under water world (though it's understandable as it was on at the time new engine), no ways of spending money (you can only spend on weapons and ammo, clothes, food and activities, you can't modify your character, buy or modify a car, buy or modify an apartment or business, literally nothing to spend on), controlling (not cars, I liked that actually, but the character, it was so hard to maneuver in tight spaces) and poor optimalization for PC (even mid tier gaming PC from 2016 had problems with running the game from 2008 on atleast 60 fps)
I loved the story; it felt like everything done up to the murder and after to the end had weight and consequences to it, plus a more honest, hard-hitting, strong satire, hard statement, and social commentary on the futility of crime, even for the disadvantaged as Niko once was (e.g. few benefits or gifts for completing the story other than the obvious money, unlocking new islands, weapons, safehouses, friends, activities, cars, and Internet which come throuought the missions but not for beating the final mission, Darko calling Niko a hypocrite when they meet, having one less girlfriend or no longer having Roman and his free taxi service, not even Kate because she disassociates with you even though Roman died, etc.). Nearly all games in the series, there's good consequences of all you do but really no bad ones, other than annoying hostile gangs when you complete 3. However, the moral choice was way more surprising and hurtful the first time since I didn't spoil the story for myself and it hit so hard, so shockingly when I first played through, no longer having those two friends, no calls or taxi service from Roman, when you replay it you know which one you can take losing. It's still tough and sad to lose someone close which means a more weighty plot, and its not as impactful since you know now it'll happen and to prepare for it and choose who you want, but at least you then know ahead of time who you want to choose and can get rid of Roman if he annoys you or if you do like I did and you let Kate go because you prefer Niko hang out with the optional girlfriends while still keeping hangouts and free taxi rides with Roman. It makes the plot much more interesting to discuss and think about, things become more memorable than how forgettable most other plots can get.
I wish gta 4 had spare options in the mission tunnel of death to spare Aidan O’Malley master and the Molotov to spare faustin uncle Vlad to spare Vlad blood brothers to kill both Derrick and Francis and the ending to keep both Kate and Roman alive and I want all the other cars to go faster

I could stand being weaker than usual, the fighting and driving being more difficult, the no cheat codes to help you (unless there were cheat codes and I stopped too early to look them up). But the one thing that put the nail in the coffin for me overall to no longer play gta was the Bullshit generic up to date rap music they played. I was already to the point of driving in real life with the radio off. But the music the put on the radio they also placed in the game? Yeah, I went straight back to San Andreas and never looked back.....or forward.

I played gta 4 for a long time and I'm agree with what you said in this video. My biggest regret is the lack of contryside, and the lack of planes.
It could be boring if you know exactly each side, each corner of the map of Liberty City. To have a countryside, mountain, forest... could be very nice in this game.

I love the game too but gta S.A and V is alot more fun! Lots of possibilities unlike liberty city which is kinda bland not much to customize! no aeroplanes! No variety on places its just 90% city!

There's not much to dislike about GTA 4. It's gritty realism makes it one of the best experiences in the series. @ZacCoxTV you are still the best!

Why I didn't put V in ranking? Because I mostly don't like it. It would be on 3rd place after Vice City but than many adults and kids would be angry because "it's the best game ever". I like a bit V it is good it isn't bad, I like all GTA games (most from III to IV), those 2D era games were awsome!

I expected a "Let's go bowling" joke, but anyways. For me, it's lack of character and vehicle customization, lack of planes, low amount of weapons, low amount of side missions and activities, no under water world (though it's understandable as it was on at the time new engine), no ways of spending money (you can only spend on weapons and ammo, clothes, food and activities, you can't modify your character, buy or modify a car, buy or modify an apartment or business, literally nothing to spend on), controlling (not cars, I liked that actually, but the character, it was so hard to maneuver in tight spaces) and poor optimalization for PC (even mid tier gaming PC from 2016 had problems with running the game from 2008 on atleast 60 fps)

I loved the story; it felt like everything done up to the murder and after to the end had weight and consequences to it, plus a more honest, hard-hitting, strong satire, hard statement, and social commentary on the futility of crime, even for the disadvantaged as Niko once was (e.g. few benefits or gifts for completing the story other than the obvious money, unlocking new islands, weapons, safehouses, friends, activities, cars, and Internet which come throuought the missions but not for beating the final mission, Darko calling Niko a hypocrite when they meet, having one less girlfriend or no longer having Roman and his free taxi service, not even Kate because she disassociates with you even though Roman died, etc.). Nearly all games in the series, there's good consequences of all you do but really no bad ones, other than annoying hostile gangs when you complete 3. However, the moral choice was way more surprising and hurtful the first time since I didn't spoil the story for myself and it hit so hard, so shockingly when I first played through, no longer having those two friends, no calls or taxi service from Roman, when you replay it you know which one you can take losing. It's still tough and sad to lose someone close which means a more weighty plot, and its not as impactful since you know now it'll happen and to prepare for it and choose who you want, but at least you then know ahead of time who you want to choose and can get rid of Roman if he annoys you or if you do like I did and you let Kate go because you prefer Niko hang out with the optional girlfriends while still keeping hangouts and free taxi rides with Roman. It makes the plot much more interesting to discuss and think about, things become more memorable than how forgettable most other plots can get.

I could stand being weaker than usual, the fighting and driving being more difficult, the no cheat codes to help you (unless there were cheat codes and I stopped too early to look them up). But the one thing that put the nail in the coffin for me overall to no longer play gta was the Bullshit generic up to date rap music they played. I was already to the point of driving in real life with the radio off. But the music the put on the radio they also placed in the game? Yeah, I went straight back to San Andreas and never looked back.....or forward.
i used cheat codes all the time they were just like phone numbers which was kinda annoying
