The removed area in Alderney shloud have been countryside. According to www.gta.wikia.com there shloud have been flybale palnes like Dodo or Shamal. Army was toatally removed from GTA 4.
The region shown in Alderny was actually meant to be similar to the cliff-like area that Salvatore Leone's Mansion from GTA III and GTA LCS (and somewhat GTA SA) had.
You will never be able to fly planes in any future GTA games based in Liberty City because of the 9/11 attacks in New York, and that's why you couldn't in GTA 3, Liberty City Stories and GTA 4/Episodes from Liberty City
In my Opinion a GTA Map needs at least 1 big ass City Area and some Mountain-countryside. It's just boring driving through some streets in the middle of giant buildings..

No. Car customizations.....even if you stop buy Pay N Spray it only changes the color and repair ..... No air vehicles....no planes , drones, or jets.....to jack. Not enough open building exploration. Only the night club during BOGT..... No past characters guest appearances.....only part 5 have guest appearances from past GTAs. Not enough dating locations.....you can only take your dates to resturants comedy club darts drinking and bowling. The Cops is not as funny as GTA 5 The cars are heavy & Truck like.....very hindring during street races. Other than that GTA 4 was an awesome game.....Rockstar have to remaster this trilogy for PS4.....
Grand Theft Auto IV had time issues, They preferred to removed or not add stuff rather than have a rushed story and gameplay which is good, It's DLC (Episodes from Liberty City) Compensate that in a way.
Just looks like a stream of reflection bitmaps and fake-intenrior window cubemaps. Why else would there be pictures of rendered interiors as textures? Doesn't mean it was removed content. Even the various hairstyles probably only suggests that they hadn't decided on Niko's final hair style until release. Sheesh.
