How beautuful. I actually really like the crinkles in the leaves. They give it character. Please show us those thumbs of yours. I want to see what shade of green they are.
Hey Matthew you should try Brassia Orange Delight 'Hilo Sunrise'. It has a similar bloom to your hybrid Brassia, but with a deeper orange, dark orange patterns and a different shaped whiter lip. Plus ours is incredibly fragrant! It has reliably bloomed every year with 15-20 large blooms per spike. Ours is indoors all year here in northern Sydney in an east facing window sitting on the bottom shelf of our stand.
Hi Matthew, can you do a video on your greenhouse/outdoor area & how you achieved/built it? I live in the bush in the Hunter Valley, which is very different to your climate, but looking for ideas on how to achieve a suitable outdoor build, including the materials you used. Love your videos. Vicki x
Hi there - I didn't build it as we're in a rental. I will be creating dedicated spaces in our new home - watch this space. Here's my grow space video: ruclips.net/video/xBwvFfFA3Mc/видео.html
Beautiful orchids! I’m in Brisbane & constantly have a scale on my orchids which are in a shade house. I find fungicide Mancozeb kills them, but to spray I gown up in protective gear.
So beautiful! I have a Brassidium I’m looking forward to seeing in the Springtime. It got off to a shaky start, but now has two pretty healthy new growths and looks settled in. Interesting that an earthworm crawled out of its pot when I first settled it in. 😮🤷🏼♀️🫤
@@marklevesque1345 looking online at others mine is definitely a little different. Got it as a division a few months back and sent up a bloom not long after. Mine is a very light yellow with a bunch of red freckles.
Hopefully this may be of some help for you. I had a pretty bad patch with scale and after a bit of experimentation I managed to get rid of it. For regular growing orchids I use, in a spray bottle, isopropyl alcohol, a bit of water, a drop of natural dish soap, about 1/2 teaspoon of neem oil and the most important ingredient, diatomaceous earth, about a tablespoon.. I really don’t measure, so about that. For monopodial orchids, the exact same formula WITHOUT the neem oil, I discovered the hard way, monopodial orchids absolutely hate neem oil. They literally stopped growing, a few have recovered but not by continuing growing out the crown, they sent out basal stem keikis.
Really delighted that someone recommended your channel to me! Great info and delivery. I'm looking forward to watching many, many more videos.
Thanks for watching!
A bit of video format advice… don’t ever change a thing!!! Classy, informative, fun!
Thank you!

Well we love earthworms! But it would mean the medium is being broken down. Thanks for watching!
Very nice show of flowers. Just had my first bl. Yellow bird bloom. The keliana looks like one I need to try and find.
Thanks for watching!
I love bl yellow bird. I’ve been thinking about getting a flask because from what I’ve read, the sibs can be drastically different from each other
