Have you tried the Varjo Aero? I know a few people personally who have a G2 and Aero. Some play DCS daily and the others play any and all VR games. Every one of them loves their Aero and none of them can stand the thought of going back to a G2. The Pico 4 can manage a PPD a little lower than 1080p 27" monitors via Virtual Desktop which is pretty low res but not terrible (still unusable for me but the best I've seen yet). The Xtal shows how far off super high end, high res, human eye FOV pcvr is for the consumer (good luck Pimax). There's no demand for it outside of a few niche pcvr nerds, so it won't trickle down to the consumer level for a very long time until some amazing quantum leap in display, lense and processing power occurs and cheaply! If Pimax fail it, which let face it, they will......then who else is doing it?
For consumer VR hopefully with the next console gen closer to 2030 we see VR headsets have enough power behind them for 8k per eye with enough software tricks.
And as soon as you mentioned lighthouse tracking, I lost all interest in the Somnium VR1. I'm already invested in the SlimeVR ecosystem as it's platform independent. I hoped for VR1 to do the same. I won't invest into yet another system, especially since I believe it will soon become irrelevant as companies shift towards inside-out tracking, more and more.
Neither of these are very interesting or leaps forward in technology. They are business headsets for commercial use. Real innovation comes when consumer headsets are released. High hopes for the Index 2, hoping we get 5k per eye 120+ degree horizontal fov with oled displays at 144hz.

My money is on Pimax Crystal even though kinda bad review from SadlyBrad. Tracking seems good and clearity and huge vertical fov really make me buy it
Probably fine with lighthouse tracker
@@SadlyItsBradley Please comment on the current state of the Crystal 🙂
@@driflysh4597 go to pimax youtube channel. Its promising so far

Somnium vr1 is an open source as meta is privacy driven. They are using opensource as a marketing term and nothing more.
Hi. I'm WISHY
someone was holding your camera?
Nope. Put it on a slab of concrete
@@SadlyItsBradley so the wind was making it move about?
TBH i think any headset over $1000 is DoA.
Where is eye tracking for no pro customers?!?
PSVR 2
@@SadlyItsBradley yes but I spent much money for my pc, I don't want PS5... 😑
Do you still think that PSVR2 is expensive ?!
It's not. Never was....
Woof
Unless its some amazing unmatched deal i aint gonna biy stuff from crypto nft bros :p
woah second
Neither of these are very interesting or leaps forward in technology. They are business headsets for commercial use. Real innovation comes when consumer headsets are released. High hopes for the Index 2, hoping we get 5k per eye 120+ degree horizontal fov with oled displays at 144hz.
Copium VR 1
