- More Info: www.DonnaLoren.com - Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstands Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clarks Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Later, she became the starring female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" as well as appearing in various singing and acting roles in popular TV shows like Batman, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle. This commercial was one of the first of many filmed in Chicago by Grant Advertising. Dr Pepper's ad agency chose to place the product in five of the iconic Beach Party movies which gave Donna an opportunity to be seen in those films, helping her to rocket to stardom. Ironically one of the songs Donna recorded on Capitol Records called "So, Do the Zonk", is carried over as a theme in the Dr Pepper commercials as the animated character always exclaiming ZONK! Her years with the company posted Dr Pepper's largest sales gains in their history to that time. Donna has released over 22 singles, an LP, 5 CD's and has been featured on numerous compilations.

Man, she is beautiful - I loved her in the Beach Party movies - and her "10 Good Reasons" is one of my favorite songs!
I was six years old when this series of commercials aired. As a result, for years I thought that these were the original lyrics to this tune. It wasn't until a few years later, as a teenager, that I found out that "Glow Worm" was an old Mills Brothers hit.
she is awesome
I love Donna Loren legendary Dr pepper Commercial so talented and pretty lady
I was born in the late 60's, but have seen her on classic shows like Batman and The Monkees. In addition to various YT videos. I was wondering is she of Jewish or Italian descent? She looks either. She is also a talented fashion designer.
Not only is she beautiful! That Lady can sing!
I had a Dr pepper in new York in 1970 I was 8 years old.
May 18, 1970 was Dr. Pepper Day in NYC. It was bottled by Coca-Cola and reps. passed out sample cups on the street, There was a radio commercial with a Donovan sound-alike singing a Dr. Pepper jingle that sounded like his 1969 hit "Atlantis".
Nostalgia+ Wow, what a different world, different time. That trumpet part sure sounds like Al Hirt too.
elc1960, I also had a crush on Donna as a young kid and still do.
Donna Loren . . . I had a crush on her as a young kid (I remember this ad even though I was 4 when it came out). Beautiful then as now, only more mature.
I'm out the door to find a Dr. Pepper!! Thank you Donna !!❤
I love seeing these old commercials.
I'm from the "I'm a Pepper" generation so it's nice seeing some older commercials of my favorite soft drink.
Be sure to listen to Donna Loren's acclaimed Podcast: "Love's a Secret Weapon". If you are curious about her early career or what she's doing now, tune in as she reads her memoir, chapter by chapter. That smile of hers is killer. She could have made me eat cardboard.
Donna is a real cutie!!!
@56Mercgal I know what you mean. I was actually born in April of 92, but I love these there so cute. Even in my 18 years the commericals have changed so much.
I recall the cool commercials in the 70's and 80's from my child hood and teen years. As the old saying goes,"They don't make them like that anymore".
She sings good I think Donna Lauren is one of a kind down to earth
This song is imprinted on my memory, but until just this minute, when I watched this, I wasn't able to clearly remember "The lift is great, the flavor fine". Maybe I didn't clearly understand the words back in the '60s in the first place.
I taught her everything she knew about Dr. Pepper.
mmmmmm, donna loren in a tennis outfit!
Johnny Hart's "Harmon" characters (similar to his "B.C." strip) also "sold" Dr. Pepper in newspaper and magazine ads.
I love the slightly suggestive "wink" at the end..
i havent had a pop in over 2 years xD
You might want to try Diet Dr Pepper, as at least it tastes a lot like regular DP, only less concentrated. I personally go for the caffeine free diet version and it's just as good. No sugar anyway. Coke Zero and Pepsi Zero also aren't bad from the theaters, and while both have caffeine, they're sugar-free. If you don't have any sugar issues, there's also the original DP in ten ounce glass bottles, but it may not be available nationwide. I think all the drinks I've mentioned, other than the last, are all like only one calorie or none.
Think Johnny Hart was making a statement?
@amuslima99 I saw her on The Mickey Mouse Club on Talent Roundup Day; she was going under her birth name, Donna Zukor.
(Don't figure out my age, LOLOLOLOL).
"Saddle your pony, here we go, down to the Talent Rhodeo...." "Hi Donna!" "Hi, Mousketeers!" "Welcome to Dry Gulch."
10-2-4 means quite a bit. Wish I only had to pee in that time frame. Not that easy.
@amuslima99 Actually, I saw the Mickey Mouse Club in its original airing. (I did not say where I was when I saw it, LOLOLOLOL).
Take care.
one of those cavemen look like he is from B.C.- the comic strip, and the other one looks like President Nixon!
Finally I found the advert and song. I am anti LGBT and homophobic.
probably, he was for JFK :-)
10 -2 -and 4 is when you would want a drink from a Doctor Pepper, as it said on the bottle, (all a small dose of cocaine from the natural cocaine plant). Great ! Everyone happy. And then the government steps in (with regulations) and messes everything up again.
I knew Coca-Cola originally contained small traces of coke, hence the name. But back then, it was primarily a medicinal drink. One never knew about Dr. Pepper, although as a 70's kid,I recall how strong the flavor was, my nose would tingle when I drank it.
Diet dr.pepper sucks. DR PEPPER ROCKS!
This is so evil! Just look at it? !aH
