    Personally, I think you should use the first cab-over as a work truck and COMPLETELY go through this one. Do a nice paint job, well rebuilt engine, and strip everything down. The new truck is already stretched, which is what you were thinking about doing to the white truck.

    • @stevemcloughlin3577

      Absolutley the more practical and logical way forward. Make a already good truck better.

    • @THEButterKING25
      @THEButterKING25 4 года назад +1

      But the stretched frame is better for work so in actuality he’s making the best decision to slowly build the short frame into a dream show truck that he will most likely paint and use this one in the mean time since stretching a frame and building a truck from the ground up takes time and he needs a truck for lots of his stuff like flat nasty

    • @Stephen-carr

    I'm still rooting for that International 9670! Hundreds of those International cabovers spent their retirement in Southern Africa carrying everything from cattle to mining equipment over vast distances. Their sight is still common today, and you will find many of your African and South American viewers have a soft spot for it.

    Ex trucker here and im jelly. I love old freightliners and its a cab over at that, plus stretched with a detroit and a super 10.... man what a combo. Ive only drove super 10s a few times and itll take a little getting used to but once you get it down, youll love it. A lot less shifting than a standard 10. When you go up a gear with the button just flip the switch while youre still on the throttle, give it a little extra throttle, then let of the fuel and itll bump right in every time. I like the fairings as well.

Then I bought a 85 k100 cab over, hauled crushed cars with that truck.. They paid me $500. to drive 118 miles one way. I made 3 to 4 trips a day. That was the money truck. Miss it every day.

I vote to keep the cab flares, and add a couple more tanks to fill in the gap some. With the frame stretched already Bruce, have you thought of mounting a Roll-Off bed on it. That way you wouldn't need a trailer to haul your Mud Buggy on it.
    Of course you could always stick with the trailer, (You might need it to haul other future projects on), and build you a nice home away from home or a man cave on it for use at Mud Bogs and Rallies.

    Super 10 was dubbed the lazy man's transmission. Just remember odd numbers the selector button is back towards you and even gears towards the dash. If you plan on making big horsepower out of that DD you're going to have to get rid of that transmission. I founded out the hard way when I had my 3406e cat turned up. No I didn't ruined the transmission but I was limited on how much hp and torque because of it.

He affectionately called his truck the "kidney buster" and he was right.... edit: After watching this his one was older maybe late 70's to early 80's model...
