X15 Tips/Tricks: Hit the set switch when you’re stopped and bump the idle and it shouldn’t shut down after 5 min & speed your idle up to around 700-750 and it should get rid of the shake/vibration from the motor at idle!

that sure is a nice PETE ,, blue is one of my favorite colors and with all of the CHrome it's damn sharp ,, and i know what you mean about the noise ,, you'll enjoy that weedburner exhaust ,,the muffler is under the truck so the noise is away from the cab ,,my personal truck is a very old GMC astro made in 1974 and it's not really noisy because i installed double mufflers on it ,,i can't have a weed burner because i go in and out of farm fields ,,i keep my cummins Big cam 3 tuned up and i can get 7.5 mpg with a 55K gross ,,10 when unloaded so i don't think your long nose pete is doing too bad ,,,my current project is a a 1977 Pete 359 ,,they called it a high boy because it's all wheel drive ,, i rescued it from a scrap yard just before christmas and i have it running and driving now ,,it's got a monster 16V71 detroit 2 stroke diesel which i have been told is not the original engine ,it should have been a 12V71 ,but either way it'll never lack for power and i go in and out of cornfields a lot and am always dragging tractors out of mud so the 6x6 will come in handy ,,,pplease keep up the great videos it's an inspiration to me and many others
Blue collar 2.0 is a beautiful truck. Just do yourself a favor, and buy a spare DEF sensor. That’s the part that has kept so many of those new trucks from being completed. Good luck!

Speaking from experience you need to get a graphite disk for your fifth wheel or you'll mess up the pads on that aluminum fifth wheel. But that is an awesome looking Pete gonna miss seeing blue collar all the time glad to see you back and doing well. Keep up that Hustle
Blue collar 2.0 do be needing some more lights though. Other than that I have no negative thoughts on the blue collar! Feels good to have your content back. Though I am gonna miss the cab over and I really have forgotten how good the camera shots are. Once again, Glad to have you back!

All x15 cummins have an ifle shutdown counter that you can adjust with cummins insight, if you just high idle the truck with the cruise it won't shut off.
Idle it up or shut it down. It's the right thing to do.

I figured you'd go for the cobalt dark blue since you liked the color of the truck you drove in December. Going to miss seeing the original blue collar running down the road as often, but hey, it sounds like you're not putting her out to pasture by using her more locally.

Getting an aluminum 5th wheel for Blue Collar;would be a smart idea.Installing a Link cab mount that is air ride,is also a really smart idea;along with replacing the shocks & leafsprings on the front axle,with a dual airbag suspension;and Blue Collar will ride so much nicer either loaded or bobtailing than she already does,with the long wheelbase.
It Should already have an air ride cab, unless you’re suggesting putting air bags on it at the front hinges/mounts as well. Idk if I’d do that, I drove a CLT-9000 set up that way once and it was like going down the road in a rowboat on rough water.
The new trucks badass for sure & I'm sure it will be much better for working but there's just something about blue collar 1.0 🤩

Western Pennsylvania guy here, I stopped at Loves in Macon, Georgia Friday night around 10:30. Kinda neat.
I noticed when you hooked up to trailer you didn't do a tug check or visual check of your fifth wheel , you should ALWAYS do that just because you hear it latch does not mean it is . Also check it when you stop some where , there are MANY a-holes out there who pull pens just for meanness especially at tuck stops. After 40 years of trucking I've just about seen it all.

if you plan on using Blue Collar pulling and pulling the same trailer as 2.0 you should probably change the 5th wheel out on the old girl to aluminum I can’t see scraping grease off the trailer every time you swap trucks.

Pete looks sweet with the step deck trailer attached to it .Pete will look nice with a light bar at the back of the truck and strobe lights on the trailer
A few magic erasers and some purple Power will do amazing things to clean that aluminum trailer. Nothing like a full polish but it definitely would make the polishers job a lot quicker and cheaper.

I had brand new Pete 12 wheeler flat bed with a knockle boom. Hauled strictly slabs on A frames. Deleware would always pull me in for over weight because the tag axel wasn't legal in that state. So dot made me lift tag axel n reweigh cause I need special permit for tag axels in that state. If you ever notice running through Maryland area the straight trucks have 5 to 10 axels. Talk about a money grab going through tolls. It's nuts. I stopped driving when they made all trucks get electronic logs. I couldn't run they way I wanted. I like to stop n nap when I'm tired. Run 6 hours n rest. Then run another 8 or 9 hours then nap. I repeat nap. Not shut down for 10 hours. Rant over. Sorry. Good luck on new truck. Oh yes. My company started buying all new Pete's but all automatic. That took the fun out of driving. Floating gears n talking to other truckers to see what they left behind them. Now all you hear on cb is. I ANT GOT NO PANTIES ON,OR BOB A BOO EEEE. AT LEAST UO N DOWN EAST COAST. GOING THROUGH NJ N NY I JUST TURN OF CB CAUSE ALL THE BS ON IT

Should be able to set the idle up on your truck and that will keep it from shutting off. We run a similar unit with a wet kit and thats what we figured out

I don’t know if someone already said it but to bypass the shut down setting just turn on cruise control idle 700-1000 rpm and hit set, the truck will will high Idle and won’t shut down every 15min
you gotta take it to anyone who has cummins insite to have the idle shutdown turned off or set to wowever long you want it to be until it shuts down.

im looking at the 5th wheel placement on the slider. you should consider sliding it forward 3 notches. that will greatly increase ease of steering and ride comfort.
