Thank you for this video! Just took my sewing machine out of the box and i’m so excited to start my journey. I’m sure i’ll reference this video again. It was very helpful ✌️🤎
I watched the video twice after reading this comment. "vinyl" Anyways I just purchased lx3817 but I'm second guessing myself. Did I make the right purchase or did I cheap out. I'm a guy who is trying to sew a zipper to a 20oz vinyl tarp. Can the lx3817 handle 18mm vinyl or should I make a return for a SINGER Heavy Duty 44S? Any suggestions would be much appreciated
@@silver831cali3 wondering how this went for you I’ve got a denim jacket with a ton of iron on patches that need to be sewn on and idk if this will be enough 😂
Youre a life saver im a dad that just wants to make a few pairs of shorts and some costumes and clothes for my 2 tots. Unfortunately ive got terrible ADHD so the instructions were foreign language to me thanks to my overthinking.
helpful!! I got my first sewing machine for chirstmas and this video helped me understand it better. Easy to follow and made me feel less intimidated. Total side note, I like your intro and I think it's cool. Perfect length and I like the part where your circut prints out "subscribe" in different fonts
Wow.. I cannot believe I am actually putting the thread in my sewing machine!! 😮 The whole idea was just SO scary and intimidating! But after watching this a few times to actually understand what you were doing I have it figured out! Now I have to make the bobbin bottom thread. But yeah, I wanted to conquer the "top" harder part first - So I understood where the thread goes in all of that "zig-zagging"! I wonder why the thread takes such a complicated route??? 🤔 I have no idea. Never used a sewing machine in my whole life so this threading stuff seems so super complicated! I guess its not once you know where the thread goes... But I have projects I want to sew! Thank you for making this video! It was very helpful! ❤❤❤
Thanks to you i was able to use my machine!!! If not i probably would have just set it aside and never touch it again after the first try! God bless you for helping!❤❤
Thank you so much. 🥰 I’m looking at this on Walmart’s site as a newbie and found your video So Imma put my shoes on and go pick it up. Thank you so much for sharing
I’m setting it up for my girlfriend your video is super easy to follow ! But the last part lost me I have the top thread down and got the bottom thread from the bobbin but is that it? I have both threads sticking out where do I guide it to or is it ready to go ?
I have the exact same machine (it is so cute) the problem I'm having is while sewing it dose not want to sew a straight line the cloth wonders all over the place like the presser foot and the feed dogs don't have a tight enough hold on the cloth how do I adjust that? Can you help?
If it's brand new and the box says they should be there you may want to reach out to where you got it from . It may have been a return and the first person didn't put them back in.
With your bobbin in place and needle threaded you will lower the needle manually and it will bring the lower thread up (you may need to raise and lower the needle a few times) and then you can begin to sew your project , happy sewing !
Take the thread that you have coming from the needle and the thread coming from the bobbin and guide it towards the back of your machine with your hand it would be hanging off the back of your machine if it is enough thread.
Yea, sewing can definitely get frustrating, but don't quit! Sewing is a life skill that'll help you in the long run. Try again, and you can try to watch different videos. You got this!
Yeah mine just isn't catching no matter what I do :( my mom is an avid sewer and she has no clue what is wrong with this particular machine that it won't thread right

As a man trying to learn to sew, you made this so easy! And I see we’re on the same path with the vinyl and stuff, That’s how I got into sewing
I'm glad my tutorial is easy. Hope your sewing journey is going smooth.

It's such an easy machine to use, happy sewing !
This was so hard to watch. Your camera angle was so off, couldn't even see what you were doing at the top of the machine..
girl...no it wasnt it was easy to follow 🤦♀️
As a first timer this was not a very good tutorial at all
I'm sorry you feel that may I may try to do a slower updated tutorial with better angles and pictures
Thank you
I'm sorry I may try to do an updated tutorial.

thank you so much you are a life saver!
Thank you for this!! I finally figured it out 😊
I'm so glad I could help ☺️😊
Thanks so much u made it so simple

It's ready to go I just like to have the thread hanging off the back away from me .
If you are sewing and you run out of bobbin thread, do you have to rewire everything? Like, take the upper thread out and everything
If you have pre made bobbin no but if you have to make your bobbin you would have to redo everything
@@candacelynntv6917 thanks!

You have with me a new subscriber🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

You're welcome 😊
Such a helpful video thank you so much
Glad I can help ☺️
Can this sew through 4 layers of fabric? Denim layers?
I would recommend with this machine it's more for light projects
Ahhh. How did you cut the threads after you finished sewing. I'm using a pair of scissors but I know there's a cutter somewhere on this machine.
You made this so easy I was thinking it was going to be way harder than it was. Thank you so much.
Thank you, it's so easy to do !
Hello, thank you so much ✨✨✨
No thank you for your support , happy sewing !
I appreciate your video. Some friendly feedback: the music is a bit too loud and distracts from the instructions.
Excellent tutorial.
Thank you 😊
Hi, do you know how to change the pressure of the presser foot? mine seems too down too far with too much tension
I'm sorry but I am not sure on how to change it
I have the same exact machine, but I have a some issues going on. There is any way if I can send you a video and you can help me out please.
Sorry for such a delay in my response , did you figure out the issue?
at 4:19, my steel hook thing is down, how do I bring it up so I can loop it over?
this explanation SXCKS!!!
This is great video the video is missing the point of how the top thread should be positioned so the tension on machine doesn’t get jammed
saan po kami makakabili ng charger ng brother machin
What kind of thread do I need for this machine. I'm starting completely from scratch 😊
Any thread that is 100% cotton should do , happy sewing !
What kind of thread do I use for this particular sewing machine? Is there a specific kind? I just don't wanna mess it up
I have used all purpose thread and it's the cheap stuff from Walmart. Anything 100% cotton should do . Happy sewing !
So late, but what stitch setting do you have it on?
Just the longest straight stitch should be number 10.
would’ve loved if you could show a top view angle of the first part cause I can’t get how you did it lmao
Hi
Where did you buy your scissors
I want to say I got them from Walmart but it's has been a while so I can't remember.
Hi! My machine is brand new but I can’t find a single bobbin, even though it says it comes with 4? Do you have any idea?!
If it's brand new and the box says they should be there you may want to reach out to where you got it from . It may have been a return and the first person didn't put them back in.
my bobbin isnt connecting, what am i doing wrong
How do I get to fill a machine to catch a stitch setting it up?
With your bobbin in place and needle threaded you will lower the needle manually and it will bring the lower thread up (you may need to raise and lower the needle a few times) and then you can begin to sew your project , happy sewing !
Can this machine sew leather for pants ?
You may need something more heavy duty for leather this is more for light fabrics .
The housing is stuck. Causing the needle to jam. It was fine when I turned it off a couple days ago 😓
Oh no I hope you figure out how to fix it I don't think I had that to happen to me
What if I loses my thing to plug in for electricity ⚡️
😮😮😮
You keep leaving out small steps that I have to figure out by watching your hands
I'm so sorry , I tried to show and tell as much as I could .
Cost of machine please 😊
It keeps making knots in the bottom
You may need to adjust your tension .
I’m just confused about the very last part what do you mean you guide it to the back of the machine ? 😂I’m so lost
Take the thread that you have coming from the needle and the thread coming from the bobbin and guide it towards the back of your machine with your hand it would be hanging off the back of your machine if it is enough thread.
@@candacelynntv6917okay I got it thank you !
🤔 I thought all of the adjustments would be set and ready to go fresh out of the box not need any adjustments
such a bad video for beginners. Really hard to follow through because of the angles
I'm sorry that you feel that way. If possible I might try to do an updated tutorial .
not beginner friendly. this actually just pissed me off
Yea, sewing can definitely get frustrating, but don't quit! Sewing is a life skill that'll help you in the long run. Try again, and you can try to watch different videos. You got this!
I'm sorry you feel that way, how could it be better?
The whole bobbin explanation sucked. Like literally confusing.
Which part is confusing ?
@@candacelynntv6917 how do you get it to spin to wrap it? Mine isn't doing that when I press the pedal . And what thru both holes or just one?
this is so hard for me to follow because of how far away you are. i can’t see anything
I'm sorry I may try to do an updated tutorial.
@@candacelynntv6917 i don’t mean that to come off rude either i just was mentioning it. the tips and tricks did help still!
I don’t know how to know if the needle is bringing up the other thread 🪡 lol I feel like that part is the hardest part
You should have two threads one from the needle and one coming from the bottom.
@@candacelynntv6917 and then what do you do with those two threads? just snip them off or leave them hanging off the back of the machine?
@@taliahoching4317yes
Leave them and start sewing
Yeah mine just isn't catching no matter what I do :( my mom is an avid sewer and she has no clue what is wrong with this particular machine that it won't thread right
