Mincho FTW! I am continually amazed what that girl can do with that PRS. MISA on those harmonics! The best live rock band on the planet...Praise be unto TinyHat-san.
They appeared in the Netflix movie "Kate." The author had included a band called "Band-Maid," but most everyone associated with the production thought the name was just something he had dreamed up. He explained that they were, in fact, a real band, and he wanted them in the film. You can see them performing this song at one of the clubs, in the movie. There was another scene when someone stole a car, and their song "Blooming" was playing on the radio.
As far as US tour dates, they tour the US extensively when on tour. I saw them in Houston and Denver last year. They play festivals like Lallapaloosa, Aftershock, Rockville, Point Fest and others. I would be surprised if they didn't have US tour dates later in the year, if not early next year.
Yeah, it’s too bad you didn’t hear about them last year. They had done US tours in 22 & 23. I saw them in Chicago twice. Legitimately sound even better in person; credit goes to their stage crew and audio team. And man, to be in the crowd during the singalong bits; it’s magical. They’ll be back I’m sure, you might just have to wait a year, but they’ll be back.
This is one of the rare bands that manages to get better live almost every time than in the studio. They always compose with their live performances in mind.
There have been many worse choices made in life than choosing B-M. Often with songs containing messages that perseverance & resolve can overcome any obstacle they're the only power seeking World Domination that i would actively encourage :)
Nothing yet, tour wise, but that could change for the fall. Right now they're putting down tracks for a new album this summer. I would expect your dates to follow. They were in the US 3 different times last year and once in 2022. They won't forget us.
And there's a kick in the crotch to all those stale male western bands struggling to squeeze into their outfits to go and mime on stage, this ladies and gentlemen is how the fck it should be done, what a band Po oh and B-M will be relocating to Australia after I win the lotto and spend it all cajoling them to live down under, solid plan that one, no cracks at al 😝👍🍻🍻
Yeah, too bad you're a year and a half late on finding them because they wore out America from October 2022 to late 2023. Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary seeing them in Charlotte, NC. They'll be back because they like it here and have a wonderful time.
For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer, is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll Star on stage. She is The Special One 🔥💥🤘❤️
This is so true - I'd love to be inside her brain. Although I'd probably gain weight from eating cakes. Seriously, the music/lyrics combo of Tono/Kobato is comparable to the best songwriting teams in history if you consider the sheer number of songs with both complex instrumentals, songs with unique structures and catchier than heck choruses. This is a straightforward one of course but (cough) Giovanni!!
Thanks for the reaction. At this point, I’m just about willing to sell my kids to go see these amazing ladies perform in person. Do check out Moratorium (Zepp Tokyo 2024). You’ll be equally impressed. Cheers!
As you said in a previous reaction, they work together as a TEAM - sometimes one of the young women will take a lead, or solo, but it's part of a cohesive whole, and not an 'ego-trip' as many other band's members will do. When, not 'if', you see US tour dates come up, don't waste any time booking (a) ticket(s), as many MAIDIACS will catch 2, 3, 4 or even more shows!
"It must be so much fun to go to one of their shows!" Can confirm! Ridiculously fun. Saw them at the House of Blues in Chicago... they'll be back, they love their US fans! Great reaction! Rock on, my GenX brotha!
They toured the US in 2022 and 2023. They may want to catch up with fans in Europe or other parts of the world, so I would say it's a coin toss whether they'll be back in the US this year. If they don't tour the US later this year, I think they will definitely be back in 2025.
Yes, a absolute must to catch them live if you get the chance! I've seen them four times in the USA and am eagerly waiting for more! I'm in my 60's and have been to a bunch of concerts over the years, but never had more fun than at the Band-Maid shows I've attended! Fingers crossed!
Just a little correction. The song title is actually Choose Me. (Present tense). :D No worries; we all know what you meant. Great reaction and song choice. I love this song.
You seem to have a great respect for Akane, the drummer. She is affectionately known as the Gorilla' She eats bananas on stage during their concerts. And sometimes throws the skins into the crowd. A great laugh is had by all. Their live video of 'Freedom' has an extended drum solo from Akane, that I think you will really like. Give that one a try.

It IS fun to see them live. But ironically, the music is only half the fun. The wacky things they do during MC times is easily as entertaining.

They tours in the United States on 4 or 5 seperate occasions in the last 2 years. So I'm sure they will be back.
Our sweet little Kanami has an alterego that goes wild when she straps on her PRS you can call her MINCHO.
Mincho rules!

At this moment they have no live dates outside of Japan scheduled in 2024. Yet. Paris? They have nothing scheduled for Paris

We can but hope for another USA Tour! Four times for me, and that's still not enough!
If you love rock, how can anyone NOT choose Band-Maid! Thx, Mr. X!
The Music Video is even better , you can see the members better and the guitar n drum work better .

Wait...did you say they have a Paris show?
I think that was a mistake
If they want world domination they will have to tour some where other than the US and Japan.
