Frustrations mount from Seattle business owners after slew of break-ins on 1-block stretch

- Frustrations are mounting along a small city block in Seattle where the business owners can’t catch a break from criminals.
The shops along a one-block stretch of NE 55th Street are seeing repeated break-ins and some worry there’s no end in sight. The thefts are done with crowbars, by breaking windows, or even ramming storefronts with cars.
Michael W Farrell Jeweler, Spinnaker Chocolate, Mioposto Pizzeria, and La Villa Mexican restaurant have all been burglarized numerous times, and other shops along the commercial row are seeing their own problems with crime.

Crime is down they say…..yeah, because nobody files a report because nothing happens and they’ve got too much to do putting their businesses in order. This is the symptom of a deep rooted failure.
Yeah I think the wording should be changed to reported crime is down. All filing the police report does is give insurance data to raise rates or cancel coverage outright.
Vote out everyone and then you will see a change.
That’s assuming there isn’t mass voter fraud. All mail in ballots seem like it would be easier to commit fraud on a large scale. The business owner who said he’s not sure what the solution would be will probably vote for Bob Ferguson for governor. 🙄

Such a slap in the face to all of the wonderful small (and larger) businesses trying to survive without anyone having their backs. A limited police force cannot do much when the lousy judges and prosecutors do not mete out correct punishments for these criminals. And the juvie system, with its corrupt facilities, tops the sundae with a cherry. City is awash with felons, criminals, druggies, drunks, violent unstable inhabitants, and we appoint fancy "Bike Czars" to improve the City. LOL.

You do have to report even if they don’t seem to do anything. Bureaucracy is BS, but once they’ve eventually been buried in statistics of how much and how often it’s happening they might begin to slowly start to do something about it.
Not likely; there is the old saying that there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Reports do not get your stolen goods back. Nor do they incentivise a liberal voting block to coem to terms with the reality of human nature. When liberal mythology paints all businesses as leeches sucking the blood (money) form the workers, the "true believers" will simply rejoice that the "Man" got his "just desserts". Stupidity may or may not be hereditery, but when the stupid parents send their children to liberal institutions to be taught Marxist ideology, not much change is likely.
The only problem is those reports supply insurance companies with data that they use to justify rate increases or denying coverage all together.

Why can’t the shop owners get together and hire security guards, also they need to have more police officers there, is the community trying to help get this done? Also change the current laws about theft put them back the way they were, demand it! It’s out of control make them change it for everyone’s security and safety! 🇺🇸💪🏻🙏

They're all the same. Alaska is supposed to be a red State and we have the same issues. They take no crime reports so it looks like there's less crime.
They'll literally chase you out of the state police barracks to prevent you from leaving a police report. It's very difficult to file insurance claims.

The issue is there is no one on the ballot to vote for. The only ones running are these DEI soft on crime folks. I’m an independent and my best friend conservative. She own two businesses that are continually hit. We read our ballots together and they are all crazy. She’s had one of her businesses for 25 years. She can’t sell it and business is down because clients don’t want to risk going there anymore. It sucks business owners should have to give up on an established shop and clientele because the city cares more about drug addicts and criminals. Give us some good folks to vote for. Please
