2:45 buy what you want first. My experience is if you settle you'll end up buying what you want down the road anyway. You spend more money in the long run if you try to compromise.
More than anything else, your philosophy on breaking down the key purchase points are the right ones. Great advice all around delivered in a casual style/ 10/10
Couldn't agree more. Just bought my first set of Gramlights 57CR . It's the design I wanted with the history of the rays brand. Did my research for fitment on my car. Bought what I wanted the first time.
100% I am the guy who bought some used rays te, they are nice and all but it is not the offset and width I want so I end up selling them. Buying the first set of brand new wheels with all the spec measured and calculated does really make a difference. Btw i love seeing you making better video each time. Keep it up!!!
high quality valve stems? I had the blue Advan Racing GT stems that they're known for but had TPMS installed and the tech switched them out to chrome. kind of didn't like it. didn't know they made a difference. I should have asked for my old stems back.
Love this channel ! Just purchased a set of 18” x 8.5 +45 5x100 TE37 Saga S-plus. I researched for a while, got a lot of advice and chose the wheels I set out for. Diamond dark gunmetal for the 2024 brz in magnetite grey. I remember thinking what size would fit my oem tires. But ended up choosing the wheel and then picking up some new tires. Can’t wait !
2:50 i narrowed my choice down to Rotiform ZRH's or Vossen LC2-C1's in 20"s for my 2011 Audi TT-RS. Rotiforms reply to my email was around 2 weeks, Vossen replied within 12 hours. So i went with the vossens. Glad i did though, because i was uncertain what the ZRH's would look like on a TTRS, maybe better on the 8S as it has a lot more sharper edges going for it unlike the 8Js curves. 4:15 LOL!
I'm debating back and forth between enkei t6r and the gram lights 57dr. Looks like they're both decent quality and similar weight but the gram lights are significantly more expensive. Any reason to avoid the enkei?
Hey Peter, what would u recommend for 2018 Toyota LC 200 series. I was looking into Volk Racing mags 20” what size of tire suitable to my car??? I prefer highway driving only.
So I had to search for Invision Auto and I emailed their sales team @ sales@teaminvision.ca. I don't think they have a website to customize/order wheels because they mostly do wholesale. Maybe Peter could do a video to help clarify if he hasn't already😬.
Hi Peter, is there a 57CR in an 18x9.5 +22 offset in gold? I see them in bronze but I would really like them in gold instead. Thanks in advance. 5x114 bolt pattern.
You should never ever care about what other people think about your wheels you are not there to satisfy others. I dont think anything of what you have had to say is good advice, tyres can last up to 80,000kms which could be 4 years, so don't say "you will be going through a lot of sets of tyres" that is wrong.
Well if you participate in Car Shows, then entirely you're there because of what other people think about your car? Also, if your tyres are lasting to 80,000km's - you aren't the clientele the wheels are geared towards. These wheels are motorsport focused wheels, so if you're spending that much money to increase / improve performance, why are you degrading your performance by putting on super long lasting tires that barely grip? That'd be even worse advice to sell someone a set of wheels at this price point, and then convince them to slap on garbage tires. I'd be livid, and feel tricked that the person I trust to sell me the wheels aren't giving me the entire "view" of how wheels, tires, and car performance are all integrated.
I definitely agree good video except the splitter rods comment I definitely use my car and I ended up destroying my splitter without them 2nd time around held up just fine at a 167mph
I love splitter rods if they are mounted to the chassis. It's the guys mounting direct to bumpers where the rods would rip out once you reached the speeds it becomes functional that drives me crazy.
Yo I have a question. So I have a 2005 350z and I fixed it up and am now lookin to get new rims. I bought this car for about 5k and its just a first car so I don't expect it to last a long time. So my problem is that I don't think it would be truly worth it to almost spend the amount of money I spent on the actual car just for some rims. I want te37's but i'm kinda goin towards a set of Cosmis Racing XT-206R. What do you think I should do?
thats a good example a 10 dollar watch, 1000 and 10000, in the end you are paying for brands and material, but all the 3 it tell u the exact time........ a more expensive will roll faster? no, will last longer maybe. as pothole will damage any wheel
What advice would you have for someone who can't make up their mind on tire size? I feel like I could go to 265 and not throw off my rev/mile at all but risk rubbing or I could stay on 245/255 and not risk rubbing but I will throw off the speedo...can't decide
yeeep i became victim of buying my first set of wheels as a rep and they weighed a TON. I just recently ordered a set of Advans and cannot wait to get these rep wheels off. once i put on my fake CR Kiwami's on, it immediately made the car drive like ass. The steering was numb and overall the fact that I was rocking reps always stayed in the back of my mind! word of advice listen to Peter, save your money and invest in a set of quality wheels. you'll be much happier! 👍
The mistake that people always do when they buy rims beget the Pateryn Wrong are the rims don’t fit they spent $700 on rims that don’t even fit their vehicle. You’re run into a lot of problems. The tire could be too big the rims could be too big the color could be all wrong. You really have to do your research. That’s what I’m doing and I’m learning that way so I can help my customers this way, so you’re not throwing your money away
hi peter, i have a question. i want to know does face design from rays wheels affect the offset size? for example: i’ve ordered rays g025. size 18 8.5jj et42 face 2. so it is face 2. the offset still et42 or the face 2 design will make it poke out a bit?
Hey Peter, what would you recommend for a 2017 GLI? I was looking into the Rays CE28 Club Racer II Black Edition in 18x8.5 +44 offset. You think that would be a good fit for the car? If not, what else would you recommend? Car is currently stage 2 with full bolt ons, with plans on going big turbo, so it’s not just a show car. Thanks in advance.
Just bought myself a set of TE37 SL’s. $3600 but I’m extremely happy with them. I currently have rpf1’s on my car so I’ll probably just end up hanging up my TE’s on my wall and just stare at them. 🧐😂

Great vid. You're content is solid and no-nonsense. Keep it up.
My first mistake was not get high quality valve stems and lug nuts. Small thing but makes a massive difference.

Good video. Definitely not the typical advice people give or get, but should help people "measure twice and cut once" with buying wheels.

Yep, mistake #2. A year later and I'm wanting to swap out the Advan TC4.
Great video bro!
I wanted to ask what site would you use to order wheels. I am looking for Advans for my 2022 Si
Nice vid dude! Came here from Connie
Awesome video! Needed to hear this as I’m finally ready to buy some real wheels 👌
Bought a set of blue Advan TC4’s in 18x9.5 +35 for my 2015 wrx

I'm debating back and forth between enkei t6r and the gram lights 57dr. Looks like they're both decent quality and similar weight but the gram lights are significantly more expensive. Any reason to avoid the enkei?
Not really. Both are made using similar technologies and have similar spec profiles. I'd probably just go by personal taste / preference.
Hey Peter, what would u recommend for 2018 Toyota LC 200 series. I was looking into Volk Racing mags 20” what size of tire suitable to my car??? I prefer highway driving only.

Peter, love your videos! Quick question: If I put 15's on my ND Miata, will I get laughed at? Is that size considered uncool? Thanks!
I think it's a cool size. Someone local just put 15" TC4's on his RF and it looks awesome.

Hi Planning to put TE37s on my cx5 diesel, any thoughts?
If we run staggered sets, 10F,11R and I want a spare, which size should I use? Thanks.
make the spare a 10, because you know a 10 will fit on the front and the rear, but you dont know if an 11 will fit on the front.
