  • New deck on an old boat. This 1982 Nauticat 38 is indoors to get a new teak deck on. Meet the professional who is doing the job, and listen to his opinion on the 42 year old teak.
The Nauticat sailboat has sailed to Sweden to get this job done at the very small yard VakuumTeak i Väst ("Vacuum Teak in the West (of Sweden)"). This yard is small company that specializes in changing teak decks.
The yard offers both vacuum-glued and traditional screwed teak decks and cockpits. Our boats must last for many years and withstand the hard wear and tear of sea, weather and wind. In addition, there are many important details on a boat that both need to be maintained and replaced. It doesn't matter if you have a motor boat or a sailboat, with many years of experience these guys take on your boat with a lot of dedication and a high spirit of service, to be able to meet your needs in a professional manner.
The yard is located on the island of Orust in Sweden. This island is well known for Hallberg-Rassy, Malö, Najad and Regina of Vindö. Although the Nauticat is made in Finland, we are 100% confident that the Swedes will do a super job on on boat.
It is hard to see our beloved Nauticat 38 being naked in this condition, but we are sure she will be one of the worlds best looking Nauticats when Kjetil and his team will be finished with her some time next year.
