    Thanks for the review! Also, awesome editing! I wanted to address a few of your concerns. First, the webbing is made in the USA and breaks in over time, but honestly, we haven't gotten any complaints about the webbing. In that same neighborhood, the three-bar slider is used for quick adjustments, and the "little piece of webbing" is there so that end doesn't pull through the slider. Also, you can grab that tab to pull the strap through the slider if you're shortening the strap. As for organization, we have two different types of velcro elastic organizers, and Carry Commission now stocks one type. As for the MOLLE, I'm going to disagree with you there. It's great for a small pen or a flashlight, and some people clip their keys to it via a carabiner. The buckle is ITW Fastex. It's made in the USA, just like all of our hardware, and has proven to work for plenty of applications with more stress than any Bum Bag will ever see. Zipper pull... metal zipper pulls can bend or break. Those cordage pulls can be replaced in about two seconds. Thanks for the compliment on the sewing quality. Everything we make comes through our facility, with about 18 people in total. In closing, props on the One Wheel skills.

      I was going to say all of your conscan be argued because of purpose and pack application. Blue Ridge commented about their hook and loop storage making it modular which is fantastic! The outside MOLLE you can add this fanny pack "bum" bag (so while you can sling it, it is after all a fanny pack hense bum bag) I digress, the MOLLE allows you to add this pack to bigger packs in the triple run line or any MOLLE system with velcro loops or other loops great system. Packing full like a burrito isn't this packs application. Well done @blueridgeoverlandgear

    Thanks for checking it out and for the honest review!
    I initially thought the same thing about the narrow strap, since that wide seatbelt strap was one of the nicer things about the Vanquest Dendrite (that pulled me away from the Dad's Fanny). But even loaded to the gills, I've yet to really make the Bum Bag heavy enough for the narrow strap to do any sort of digging.

    • @MarineX
      @MarineX  Год назад +4

      Makes sense. I'm wearing it as I right this response and there is a bit of digging but obviously we are different height and neck shape. It's a go at retail price.

    Seems like a vast majority of the EDC community is more concerned with aesthetics than anything. As long as it looks good for an IG post then it’s G2G

    Fair and honest review and critiques. It's definitely not a perfect bag for all uses. We are adding hook and loop inserts to the site in the next week or so. In the meantime you can also pick up inserts from Blue Ridge Overland Gear. Thank you for picking up the bag and taking the time to review. As we grow we will definitely offer some more options.

    To be fair....It's a bum bag not a sling.......Now I understand and completely agree that it should be comfortable to wear as a sling (they even have it shown that way) but as a bum/fanny pack its probably spot on for what it is. Thanks for cons review, honestly, most will only sing praises and it's good to see the negatives as well. Take Care

    • @MarineX

      @AtwoodThreads Год назад +1

      @@MarineX Agreed. Call it one thing, show it as another. That is one of my gripes with a lot of the products out now, they are completely marketed wrong. Like I stated, I appreciate the cons review man. Tell it how is really is and not what they say it is.

  • @ewdijkstra7627
    @ewdijkstra7627 Год назад +4

    Between watching Taylor's video on it and yours, I get the feeling that this little bag is intended for a very specific purpose: ultralight, affordable & modular pocket space. It seems designed to be utilitarian in nature and fairly priced for the purchaser. Best used on half-day hikes, watching the kids, or spending a day out running all your errands. You can't carry many items or large items, and the aesthetics let this look like it belongs both on the worksite or in the office. If you want this for holding more gear than either your normal pocket carry or a small extension of it, this isn't really the item for you.
    I think this does fit what I interpret as the design intent, though I also agree with you as there's room for improvements on the minor details. A seatbelt strap, metal hardware and a magnetic clasp are the easiest and most obvious version 2 improvements that can be made.

    • @BlueRidgeOverlandGear
      @BlueRidgeOverlandGear Год назад +2

      Thanks for the kind words, and you get it. It's meant to expand your carry without being a huge bag. As for the seatbelt webbing, we tried one with a two inch belt, but it didn't work well if you had on a regular belt and went with waist carry. We're hardware nerds, and while Fidlock and what not is tempting, the price would climb significantly.

    • @ewdijkstra7627
      @ewdijkstra7627 Год назад

      @@BlueRidgeOverlandGear Those are totally fair points - while I'm glad I seem to grasp the design intent, my thoughts and agreements with the video are derived from a primarily suburban, "town & office" point of view, so comfort and organization are premium for my personal use cases.
      Regardless, this is a great little bag and you definitely achieved your goal - functional, affordable, and looks great. Ya'll should be very proud with this collab piece! Hope to see more of this in the future - the $40-60 range is really hurting for products hitting this sweet spot of highly utilitarian while still being aesthetically pleasing.

    This is my second time watching your review now after watching several others.
    I got the bum bag for everyday. I learned I don’t need a lot of the stuff I’ve been carrying, cause I’m not using it. Maybe once in a blue moon type thing. Additionally, I hate have a bunch of stuff in my pockets apart from my phone and my wallet. Sometimes I don’t even want my wallet in my pocket.
    I think the bum bag will be a great fit for me. It will also force me to think about what I actually need/use, be more intentional about my edc. To your point with the digging in the neck. I’ve heard a lot of reviewers say that, and thankfully I have a strap pad on deck ready to go.
    Awesome points in your review man. I’ve only seen a couple of You’re videos, and you’ve got me thinking more purposefully about my edc. All the best!

    X's points are well-taken. I had watched Taylor Martin's vid a few days ago, but it was out of stock on Blue Ridge Overland Gear at that time. I just ordered the bundle from Blue Ridge Overland Gear. I do like how you can configure it however you want with admin pouches/panels.

  • @dj_wilson

    Mine arrives today. I've been wanting one of these for a minute.
    I have honestly yet to find a sling with a strap that doesn't annoy me. I have an Alpaka Tech Case with their basic strap and their deluxe strap...hate em both. But very much enjoy the bag.
    My hope for this pack is simply to empty my pockets. I grabbed a Skittle pouch with hook loops from Tuff Possum to add some organization and hoping to grab the velcro keeper from @BlueRidgeOverlandGear soon.
    I'll likely craft up a paracord cushion type thing to the strap. But even without having mine yet, I agree with you on the future option of D-rings or connecting loops to be able to swap straps if desired.
    Great video! Appreciate these honest takes

      Fanny or not. Promotional material and Taylor rock it in sling mode. So It's not a stretch for someone looking to buy one, Would assume it could be worn that way as well

      @@MarineX i know he compared it to some sling bags but mentioned this was smaller intentionally, so I can see where you're coming from. I was just saying that that type of strap is kinda standard for fannypacks which may be why its uncomfortable on the neck.

    I like the way it looks, and for $40 you can't beat it. I'm ordering one because I think I'm going to replace the strap, stitch on my own D loops, and a piece of loop paneling on the back.

    You can always look into buying a piece of foam padding, wrap it in (OD green?) nylon material and sew it around the strap in the shoulder area? I'm guessing there'd be videos on how to add things to your gear on RUclips somewhere. ☺️

    Was sitting outside last night and knew there was an animal close so i made the blowing out air noise they do and there was a nice buck grazing . He never left either after spotting him with a mini light . I m thinking he’s been around a while . They only come out after midnight around here and mostly after 2 am when all gets quiet . I haven’t hunted them for the last few years and gutting animals is not all cracked up to what people say either . And it’s not easy to but luck can happen .over the years I ve had several animals walk right on by setting still looking at the phone with volume up . Curious evasive buggers . Setting still is the key around here . Camo doesn’t matter for some reason but it’s still cool .

    love your One Wheel Riding review 🤣Great HONEST look at this new bum bag. It looks awesome but I totally agree the strap needs something extra to prevent the neck digging. Taylor Martin himself shows using an organzing velcro insert by "vanquest" in his own personal bag but it would have been nice to have at least one side with organizing insert. People are already giving it the "murse" label so we'll see how popular this really becomes over time.
