    Bought one of these several yrs ago, and still learning. Very helpful video.

    This video really helps me as I'm also learning as I go. I'm also using the exact same welder and same wire with similar settings. I'm working on a Jeep TJ frame and have been using the max 2 setting with a wire speed of about 6.5. Because of the lower duty cycle, I learned that working in ~15 - 20 second intervals has been able to give me decent results that I'm comfortable with given my level of skill.

      I wonder if putting a more powerful fan in these 120v units would help.

    Why is the tip extended out so far from the nozzle?
    On mine, the tip isn’t even visible when the nozzle is on.

    Have you ever had the welder kick out the breaker as soon as you hit the trigger? Breaker is fine any other tools plugged in run with no problem.....getting really frustrated....help !

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  8 месяцев назад

      I have not had this problem. Mine will trip a 15amp breaker if I run them too long. This is less of an issue with a 20amp breaker. If it does this a lot I’d say something is defective

    • @jeffgammie2676
      @jeffgammie2676 8 месяцев назад

      Going to try a new breaker....maybe it is a weak breaker but still good to run small power tools....at least it will be a process of elimination to tell whether it is the breaker or something wrong internally with the welder....I'll let you know... thanks

    Thanks for the info !
    Where / how did you ground it ?
    Complete beginner here : Question ... would this be appropriate for "spots" such as in crafts (metal sculptures, fix a cracked bike frame, and light auto body work ?
    Would you have the MODEL number plz ?
    Thanks !

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  Год назад

      You ground using the "ground clamp". This is a good light duty welder, but will not work in really thin metal. Auto body (20ga) would probably be the thinnest. There is a bit of a learning curve, especially with thin material... takes practice.

    No it’s broke off flush with the inside of the welder but it is sticking out about an inch or two but it won’t come out

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  4 месяца назад

      Did you open the feed rollers? Sometimes if there is a kink or burr in wire its hard to pull out. As a last resort just grab it with pliers and yank.

      I was not aware they made aluminum flux core wire. Can you send me a link? Id be really interested. But I dont think this machine will run a standard alum setup.

    I have the same welder I'm getting a ton of splatter is that just my settings or??

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  Год назад

      Maybe slow down the wire speed and check you ground connection. Also I have noticed various degrees in splatter depending on brand of wire… sometimes even different rolls of the same wire. If it’s really bad try another spool wire and see it that helps.

      @@Jside68 Possible, mine came out of box setup for flux-core, but yeah if its setup for gas... might cause a problem.

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  Год назад

      Are you using gas? the wire that comes with welder is solid core for a gas MIG setup. If your not using FluxCore that could also be the issue.

    Basically min #1 20 amp. Min 2 40amp. Max 1. 60 amp. Max 2 80 amp. It’s a 80 amp welder

    • @woodsarmoury
      @woodsarmoury  Год назад +1

      I never thought of it that way, but makes sense. I think the lack of fine tuning is this welders biggest weakness.

    • @KrokisMtl
      @KrokisMtl 5 месяцев назад

      Does it mean you draw 20,40,60 or 80amps on a 15 breaker ? What is the correlation between that and breaker amperage needed ?

    You always do vert in a vert situation! Going down hand will not give you proper penetration. Also some wire is only made for flat/horizontal. If you are welding flux/stick you pull, mig/metal core etc you push ✌️
