Unfortunately, after 2 years of being up, RUclips decided to hit this video with a copyright strike on Domination, so sadly, as it is better than having the whole video taken down, I've trimmed the solo out, sorry!
Man I was born in the wrong era. I wish I could’ve seen dime live. What an amazing gift he had. Even when he was improvising sections of solos it always sounds like it goes together. Him and Vinny were truly pioneers for metal
He was almost too loud to hear properly in concert. Especially the whammy shit, your ears would be bleeding. I saw them multiple times. Videos you can hear the detail at least.
Dont compare yourself to the legends. I fell into that trap once. You just gotta remember that everybody sucked at guitar at one point. Even people like dimebag. You just gotta focus on yourself and keep practicing and you'll get to the level you want to be at
@@willt2986 I strongly agree, focus on getting better at what you're best at, it doesnt matter if you're really fast or slow the authenticity is what matters most and the pace of the band
I remember watching a video of one of their roadies saying sometimes Dime was so messed up he could barley walk before a show. But they would get him to the stage and he would kill it every time. RIP to the one and only.
Floods solo brought a tear to my eye just like the day we lost this once in a lifetime ultimate metal master ST. DIME. He was connected mind, body and soul to the guitar and I've said it before and will say a 1000 times more, there will never be another who lit up the stage, the crowd and the metal world like this legend did. ✝️ Rest In Peace my brother. All of us love you and your music lives on everyday all over the world. GETCHA PULL CFH FOREVER!!! 🎸
BEAUTIFUL!!! YOU ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT, BUDDY!! If I was to describe Dime I would go on for hours, maybe day's trying to come up with the best words to describe him. I say that because I tend to ramble on about things I'm passionate about. You said it perfectly!! Good job, my friend
I know what you mean that was my anthem in high school even though at that time he was way out oh my age range I would marry that man. Miss him do much I never had the opportunity to see them live.
Sad to say the 20th anniversary of his death is ciming up dec8. Im gonna make me a black tooth grin and listen to Pantera in his honor.RIP Dime and Vinnie forever stronger than all 💪
In my personal opinion, no guitarist has been as adept at pick squeals as Dimebag was. He just did naturally what most wish they could do. I've never seen another guitarist use squeals so fluidly and intentionally. He meant and felt every note he played. That he enjoyed and lived fully in every live performance is obvious. His genius lives on
Damn Dime was something else. He always appeared to be slightly improvising while at the same time nailing the shit out of his licks. He and EVH were both very good at it.
They played Hollow and Domination combined together live all the time. They called it Dom/Hollow, you can find many versions online. It's even on 101 proof.
So glad i got to see them live 3 times.....absolutely epic performances i will never forget, and you will never against see a mosh pit like an early to mid 90's pantera pit.....it was absolutely brutal🤘💀☠
as a guitar player who covers these songs let me tell you......his is the greatest metal guitarist in the history of humanity.....his absolute love for the guitar shines through with every note, every action, every move he made.... I hate the bastard that took him from us..... I sit and imagine the music we wouldve been blessed with because there wouldve been another Pantera record.
DIMEBAG WAS THE GOAT his style was so natural just the outburst of his energy expressed with some hendrix like blues soul and yet so refined and thoughtful, could back-up any outburst of energy flawlessly with his "vocabulary" and technic and always playing from the heart
Coz most of these retarded death metal heads wanna just hear pointless shredding as opposed to the emotionally brilliant solos dimebag conjured. Man was a pure genius
@@Mansplainer452 bro what, a lot of death metal guys love Pantera, and pointless shredding? Take a listen to Death and tell me that’s pointless shredding
@@connordrysdale5333 Will listen man. Personally not a fan of metal in general. With the exception of Deftones, despite them being more nu-metal. I just appreciate the melodic prowess of Dimebag's solos. Very ethereal

Thank you for making this, I watch this video at least once a week! Just a little correction though, at 9:04 that's the second solo in Domination (they often played Dom and Hollow together).
man must be some sort of demi god. On stage, coursing with adrenaline, absolutely hammered, lord knows how many ounces he's smoked. And still absolutely KILLS WITHOUT FAIL!!!! All hail to the king 🤘
What a joyful video! Made my day. That New level solo was just so epic the passion he played it with. Seeing him play these solos live really makes you appreciate what a command of the guitar this fine chap had.
Don’t worry man, just have fun with it, thats when you get good, I am 18 years old and have played since I was 6, but I just did it all for fun and I still love it, the key is to not compare yourself to others too much and just have fun, you will get there bud 🤘🏻
Remember he’s the only guitarist in the band so when they play live there are no backing tracks of Rhythm guitar for his solos. That shows (1)how great Rex is as a bass player but (2) it shows how great his solos are that they don’t need cords behind them, they stand on their own as an important section of music added to the song like a breakdown in todays metal in which I believe Pantera also invented besides groove metal.
Man... of all the people taken too soon... It would be really interesting to see where Dime would be today, and everything he was a part of from the time he was shot till now. I guarantee he would of kept it legit and never sell out.
Van Halen Eruption 1986 is the best Solo live performance ever. The precision and the extreme sounds he created in harmony is as good as it could ever get. That was his biggest influence and Dimebag is buried with his VH2 guitar. Yellow and black.
Mann!!! Clicked on this vid as I was watching another DIME vid cause of the CHANNEL NAME!!! My fave Danzig LP. Was gonna immediately sub!!! Had more games than music though!🤷♂️
Dude could play, and that’s the biggest understatement of all time. And not to praise his lifestyle choices but most of the time he was quite twisted. I’m lucky if I haven’t dropped the guitar in 6 beats if I’m in the same state.
What a legend!!!!! This compilation video could've easily been every solo he ever played and you closed it out perfectly with what I call Dime's best/most soulful solos ever...Floods! I'm so fortunate I had the privilege to see Pantera im concert twice, but wished I had seen them so many more times...
Floods has the most supreme intergalactic overlord of all guitar solos, ever conceived… in the entire history and future of mankind; From the time it was an abstract thought in Dime’s head, through the present, until that inevitable cataclysmic asteroid resets this little planet again, and humans go back to living in caves, Nature will reclaim the land for about 15,000 years, every trace of our current civilization gets erased, and the instrument we know as a guitar, will be reinvented and re-evolve in around 20,000 years. Even after all of that, there will still never be a more perfect guitar solo created, than that of the one in Floods.
Come On Eyes is a great solo from the glam Terry Glaze era. In fact, while the Phil era has the most memorable Dime moments, his style of solos pre-Phil were so consistent and few stood out probably because they were almost all as good as each other.
Watching the fan walk up on stage to stage dive gave me so much anxiety in the first clip simply because that same thing where no one flinched over it happening cost dime his life.
What do you want to bet the guitar tech had to change the necks on the guitars after each show, the Man absolutely burnt the necks of those guitars, love and miss you Dime, "get your pull off that"🤘

Not your fault, dude. RUclips being RUclips.
Fair use act. Mention that in description and challenge it.

Yea...I'm a drummer, but I am yet to see anyone play with his technique and soul...

Born at just the right time to carry on their legacy though!
Don't worry you have guitar gods like Polyphia to follow....Lol🤪🤪🤪🤪
He’s ok but he’s no David Gilmour

He might be the only lead player who plays so clean live.
