I am SO THANKFUL that you put the effort into rebuilding this vehicle! I might be the only one, but THANK GOD you didn't go for a patina finish! As the grandson of a paint and body man, this is what makes a RESTORATION!
I’m a painter by trade and if you can paint a 3ft section in a one second pass you will get smoother paint because it’ll allow less time to pile up and if you have atleast a 50/50 overlap on your passes you will have excellent coverage but that being said you will be a great painter in no time! Keep up with the Mopar content! Mopar or no car baby!
Great job, both of you young men warm my heart to see you having such interest in bringing these old rides back to life. Everybody don't have $50,000 to rebuild one and you show you don't need it. Thanks guys.
I like Satellites, 1971-1972 is my favorite due to that mean looking front end and bumper. As expensive and rare Roadrunners are getting, I think the Satellites are cooler and more attainable for a poor guy like me. Essentially, they are the same car as a Roadrunner but way cheaper. Cool car and I love this build. You guys ROCK!!!
My brother had a 72 satelite sebring with a perfect baby food yellow paint and quarter vinyl roof gave 700 dollars for it at the junkyard in 1995 he sold it to two biker chicks who got it painted plum crazy purple still see them out driving it once in awhile
Looks good Dylan , good to have met you at PT at national trail. Next time you try to paint match a single door or panel fade your new paint into the other panels , just a mist fog into the adjoining panel , give it a long flash time then buff the other panels after the fade has cured for a few weeks. Just some advice but that engine bay is going to be killer and once you letter the door it will be a great tribute car
Dylan, I am 41 and you still live my automotive dream. I LOVE old Mopars, and I have always wanted to get something like this and swap a 383 or a 440 into it. Mine would have an A-833 4 speed manual with a 3.73 rear gear with posi, but I would have the engine built with at least 10.5:1 compression, but I love horsepower and excitement too. I would put Black Widow mufflers on it and true 3" dual exhaust, and I'd probably paint it either Subaru Java Black Pearl (yes, sacrilege, but I LOVE that color), or Plum Krazy like my mom's 69 426 Hemi Roadrunner was.
After that great job you did on your Grandfathers Truck paint job, looks like your painting technique is improving too :) Forget the patina cars in the future. All these older cars you revive deserve the lipstick.
I own a 74 Satellite sebring and ever since i seen that blue Satellite on your channel i fell in love with it so happy to see it getting some love after all these years
I love the fact you drive your cars. A straight pristine painted car that sits in a garage does no good for anyone. Seems like a great path you and your dad are on with this one. The love of Christ comes through seeing how you and your dad come together.
This car is already looking 1,000 times better. This is going to be great with a big block and refreshed interior as well. I’m looking forward to hearing it. Running drive.
Glad to see you’ve Learned some from painting your last car glad to see you start spraying at one end of the panel and ending at the other that was the biggest thing that bugged me also I don’t know if this would help the look or not but I would have removed the grille and painted the core support behind the grille too because that is probably also painted black
Watched that video when it first came out. This car got me into Satellites. Also spotted it on powernation and recognized it immediately. Been waiting a long time for someone to yank this bad boy out and do something with it.
One thing I would have done was pop off that passenger fender and pop the dents out and sand it and then painted it. Just got it as straight as you could with a hammer. No bondo or skim coat it. But at least take the dents out best you could. But I know what that leads to. OCD will kick in and it would have to be perfect.
Great work on the car Dylan love it bud. We’re just about finished filming for the network and plan on doing a relaunch on our OGYT channel. I think we got a schedule a road trip down for a visit in my 68…. Keep it up, man.!
I had a 1964 Dodge Coronet, 2 door, hard top with a 440 and 927 trans. I like all the Dodges and Plymouths of the 1960s. I like the looks of this car too.
Hate to say this I really like this one!. you should do a build just ... $ price for car, just whole exhaust, disc front, then clean it up and find out the value.and sell
I love it thanks for taking us with you I have always loved that body style of the S10 but I do prefer the original wheels however the ones you did put on it are really cool and do look great on it!
Dylan outstanding job man and a you guys did a lot of work! What I like about your channel Dylan is how you figure out how to get a car back on the road with a limited budget! There are some channels out there where they throw tons of money at a project car! They are beautiful and very cool but that kind of rebuild is beyond the money or ability of a lot of folks out there. You show everyone there are other ways to get into the hobby and not break the bank! I am fairly old now in my mid sixties but back when I first got my drivers license oh about 1975 I was washing dishes in a local restaurant for say $1.25 an hour. I didn't have a lot of money. Anyhow I found a 1956 Chev 2 dr Belair post everything in front of the firewall was gone except the frame and suspension. It was solid black paint but faded and sunburnt to a mostly grey color. The interior was missing the front seat but otherwise intact. At the wrecking yard I bought a pair of 69 Chevelle black bucket seats, they had a 68 Impala 4 dr that had a rough body that ran decently that I bought for $50 that I bought for the engine and transmission. I was able to piece together over time all the parts for the front end. I grey primered the nose of the old Belair and used the Impala drivetrain to get it rolling down the road again. The only thing I bought new was a B & M Quicksilver shifter. And I mean that was the only thing that was new. It wasn't the best looking Belair post on the road but it drove decently and got me where I needed to go and it was a great learning experience. Keep up the great work Dylan!
Dil, I grew up in the shadows of the Big Three. I raced at Detroit Dragway and on Woodward Avenue. I drove Mopars and they were awesome. But, there were quicker car out there. The quest was Low ET, not tire smoke. 327 Corvette 4 speeds, 302 Boss Mustang 4 spds were hard to beat on the street. You had to go out in the "Dark" zone North of Birmingham to sort them out. Big Block Chevy, Pontiac's, W30 Cutlass 455 Buick GSX were ALL very respectable. Even the slightest up grade, like Hooker, Holly, Edelbrock, Crain, & a gear separated the men from the boys. Mopar was Hot Hot Hot, but we could be beat. $$$ made all the difference once we departed from stock. I even bought Slicks to cut tire spin. Casler "Cheater Slicks" worked on medium powered cars and were MDOT legal. In March my buddy took his Brand New 1970 340 'Cuda 4-speed to Detroit Dragway. It was barely 3 mos old, & it went 14.00 @ 105mph w/ open stock exh mans & cheater slicks. I lived that era w/ a 69 GTX 4-speed stock 440 single Holley & Hooker underbody into Thrush Glasspack Header Mufflers & 3.55 gear.
Dylan I love your new garage but you need to invest in some good lighting if you are going to paint some projects. Maybe you can set up a small paint/booth area off in a corner to keep the dust down and add a ventilation fan. I grew up in my dad’s body shop so nothing but positive suggestions.
Good to see you painting the engine bay the same colour as the car and not black like everyone else does makes your engine bay to dark with black cool guys cheers
Great work man! Car looks great!
Well said
How do you even have time to watch a video busy as you are?
@@BobJones-fx3hkhim and Dylan are great friends. I'm sure he probably doesn't get to watch a lot of videos but his close friends you have to
Appreciate you!
Wouldn't a big block in a guy's tow truck be super cool..? Because...burn outs.
I am SO THANKFUL that you put the effort into rebuilding this vehicle! I might be the only one, but THANK GOD you didn't go for a patina finish! As the grandson of a paint and body man, this is what makes a RESTORATION!
This is a car you should keep forever. I love doing paint and body work on these old muscle cars. ❤
I’m a painter by trade and if you can paint a 3ft section in a one second pass you will get smoother paint because it’ll allow less time to pile up and if you have atleast a 50/50 overlap on your passes you will have excellent coverage but that being said you will be a great painter in no time! I'm so glad to see you do more painting Dylan. Love it man keep up the good work and content.

Your painting technique is so so so much better on this one. Well done.

Nice work! My son and I met you last year at Holley Ford Fest! Well worth the trip!

Wow, I'm super impressed Dylan! I think you've got the touch man!
That Plymouth was the first video I ever seen from you’re channel, I been watching ur channel ever sense.
You painted your light brother! 😂😂😂 The car looks SO good now though! You and Briar did a great job on it. Congrats to you both!
Nothing worse than a mopar painted like a chevy. Love the color! Great work you guys!
Fell in love with this car when it first appeared the channel when you and the bois were doing those start up challenges.
Looks great!! I hope the air filter housing in the boot is a sign of an impending six pack 😉
This car is getting the attention it deserves.

Awesome build and I’m so glad you guys have this car back! My favorite model satellite
Good job with the paint you getting much better.
So stoked to see the Satellite getting its day. I have loved this car since the original video.
Glad to see you’ve Learned some from painting your last car glad to see you start spraying at one end of the panel and ending at the other that was the biggest thing that bugged me also I don’t know if this would help the look or not but I would have removed the grille and painted the core support behind the grille too because that is probably also painted black
Looking good Dylan! So glad you guys are back to this project.
Looks great Dylan. Takes a lot of work to get to the point you have now.
I remember when you guys got this old girl going and so glad it’s getting another chance at life! Killer job!
Looks awesome Dylan !!!
Watched that video when it first came out. This car got me into Satellites. Also spotted it on powernation and recognized it immediately. Been waiting a long time for someone to yank this bad boy out and do something with it.

I’m glad something is being done with this car, it’s so cool 😎
Looks fantastic 👌 Looking forward to future vids. Would be cool when it's done to have it next to Dave's Ratty Satty.
SO, is that a Harbor Freight gun? AWESOME JOB Dylan! love your builds and style!!
That McCool Petty Blue color is sharp! I love how it came out
Love the color Dylan! Glad you are pushing to learn how to paint cars. Plenty of You tubers to watch and learn from. 🤔 Some even local to East TN.
Love the old Plymouths
I remember this satellite after the revival with Kevin and Luke I thought I would never see it again I'm glad it found a good home ❤
Getting into the paint work I see , good for you 😊

The Satellite! I've been patiently waiting on this one! 💯👌🙏
Did you know my dad's uncle worked as pettys car mechanic back in the day.
Looking pretty cool. I am a mopar man. Hax a few in my youth.

It's so weird seeing you with facial hair, not that there's anything wrong with it of course it just seems so different lol. 😆
Had to fill my dad duties!
Haha
Another tip to help from having dirt in your paint is to wipe down the panels with a TAC cloth to pickup the dirt and dust
Awesome job!!!!
I agree it looks better.. yet body work it and paint the whole thing.. including the jams..
i remember that Plymouth!!
The “WHERES MY CAR” clip was gold 😂
Ye baby looks great 👍
You had me at "Big Block."
'70s Roadrunner's are the best year of Roadrunners. I wish getting one in the Netherlands was a bit more affortable xD
