Oh honey, I’m still wearing my dog’s tags on a chain around my neck and she died 2 years ago. You’ve suffered a tremendous loss; it’s not being a whiner. It’s just tears from missing your boy. ❤

I was just saying the same thing to my husband after watching this episode. Blue was your life partner. You are not whining. You are grieving. Hard. We are here supporting and loving you however you present yourself. Feel all the feels. As a therapist I cannot emphasize that enough. Journal, talk about, process, and it will get easier with time. It will never really go away unfortunately, because he will never be back. It is the unfortunate cost of love.

It took me 25 years to even think about getting another dog after Eli died of pancreatic cancer. It felt like I was betraying his memory to have another canine brother. I am now at a place where I have another pup and I live her, but no one will ever replace Eli.

My dog died 25 years ago next month. I STILL CRY when I think about him for too long or when I see a dog who looks like him. You never get over losing a pet... a scab sort of forms over the hole they leave in your heart, but you never fully heal. I wish you much love and peace. Be gentle with yourself.

Ria grief is so unpredictable. I lost my Mum a year ago, she was 96 so it wasn't unexpected but it hits me like it was just yesterday. I go full on for days and days and then have a day or two that I cry just all day. Crying shouldn't be thought of as a bad thing. Crying is such a relief valve. Google what it does for your body...it's quite amazing. Hugs to you and Tas. Hugs to you. I turned 60 this year and if it's one thing I've learnt it's to look after yourself when you need it. ❤

I was with my boyfriend 3 years when he died last March. After 18 months, I finally started to thaw out emotionally. A friend told me "The depth of your grief is a reflection of the depth of your love." You loved Blue way longer than 3 years and it has only been months. Grieve as long as you need to grieve. Shutting down anyone who told me how I should feel protected my mental health. Hugs Baby Girl.

Great Job on recognizing that you needed to show yourself grace and acknowledge that you needed a breather. A lot of people do not do that and push on because for generations that is what we are told and then end up worse off. I was in the Navy and “suck it up buttercup” was etched in my brain, so much so that I too repeated it to many only to realize that that only works until it doesn’t and then you have a lot more to fix and that it will take a minute to do so. You continue to take your breaks when needed. I find a good movie to immerse myself into and eat chocolate. Everyone does it different and different events cause people to need breaks, but that doesn’t mean it’s not needed. I miss my boy Romeo all the time and wish he was with me. I lost him in October 2018 and think he will always be in my heart to miss from time to time. Blue was one of a kind. You gave him a great life and he returned it with unconditional love and joy. Whenever you feel that sting of missing him, thank him for being part of your life for as long as he was. It will help a little. Sorry this is so long.

Young lady, I exceed your age probably by almost three or four decades. I do worry about young people like you and the things that put them on edge.
I remember stories from grandparents when they were going through the Great Depression. It was a horrible time most certainly - but when asked, they always said that you have to move on. Comparatively speaking, they went through a situation many times worse than the relatively minor life stresses that are knocking today's young people on their pins.
You and all that you love are mortal - if you and your loved ones are healthy - you have the whole basket of life goodness in your lap you are RICH.
Have had to watch many dearly loved family members and my pets pass away over all my years. The scars are still in my heart from their loss and I take both sadness & comfort in their memories.
Enjoy this time in your life because there are many more life challenges that lie ahead (loss of family members, personal illness, etc.) that will cut you to your core. There is much truth to that old bumper sticker adage; "Don't sweat the small stuff, because it is ALL small stuff". You have your life, health, your parents, siblings and a dear little dog that thinks the world of you with a grand adventure ahead of you, both.
Shed a tear, certainly, but don't let it handicap you - dust yourself off, stand up, stand tall and keep moving forwards.

I always love your sense of humor in the face of adversity. ❤ Oh yes, a spoon under the lip, used as a lever, will vent the vacuum and you will be able to open it no problem. Perhaps try it sometime. 🤓

SENDING YOU BIG HUGS!!!! I’m sorry you’re going through this. I lost my dog in May and we were so close like you and blue. I took her everywhere. Life is so empty without her. All I can say is you’re gonna have a good days and bad days and just take one day at a time.

You are still mourning your baby! Let yourself do what you need to mourn Blue. Also, it was a blow to have all your footage of Blue get stolen. Give yourself the time you need, and I will be praying for you, and Tazz.

Dear Ria, I have my moments too when I think of my lil 5 pound chihuahua, who passed in 2017. I empathize and know what you are going through. I also know that you will heal and be greatly blessed by the funny moments and the times Blue protected you. Hugs

This is a wonderful video, and so are you. This Autumn season is the best, so the fall theme was amazing. The tough times recently can add up. Thank goodness you have Taz, a sweet pup. I wanted to reach in and help you with that jar to open it. This is a great camper also. Thanks for this most recent video update. Best wishes to you always.

MARIA!! I love your channel!! As another independent lady living on her own I wanted to share a hack I have for opening jars passed down to me from my mom: if you tap the edge of the lid with like a butter knife or the edge of the counter it helps release the seal to make it easier to open.

  • @danielledancer3793

Yep tap a jar on the edge and it will open easy. Friends is my ultimate comfort show too, I watch the it all the way through every year x

Anytime you need to vent or cry we're here for you You got this girl . Also a quick way to open a jar that doesn't want to open is to tap it with a butter knife on top with the handle end I found that way works for me all the time .

First off - you're not whining. You're expressing emotion. You're human. The notion that crying is weak or that you have to soldier on is false. You are grieving. Grief is complex & normal & ok. Cry - walk through - it's how you will process the love & loss. No gets through this life without loss. 💛💛 Grief is just love - with no where to go. Much love. 💙💙 From a fellow Michigan girl.

12:03 **pro tip: hit the metal lid to a corner or a hard floor to get a tiny mule of air in there, the vacuum is the reason you can’t open it so if you get a little air in there with a little pressure to the soft metal lid you are going to open it easily (avoid breaking the glass obviously).

Be gentle with yourself Hun you can’t rush grief. My Dad was watching over Sugar Bear when he passed, it was over a year before I could pull into that driveway without tearing up. Take care of yourself and know we are all with you in spirit

My husband and I just moved fulltime onto our sailboat. The first thing we packed and unpacked were the ashes of our 3 beloved pups Sydney-our Australian Cattledog, Bella-our Neapolitan Mastiff, and BoPeep- our Border Collie mix. Even though they had their special place at our house and we saw their pictures everyday, finding their new special place in our boat brought a flood of emotions. It's been a number of years since the last one passed but we still find ourselves grieving for them and missing them every single day. Blue was a treasure. He will always be with you in spirit and we all grieve for him with you. It's ok to have rough days. We're all here for you. ❤❤

Donna, my three dog ashes travel with me. Almost scattered my golden Buddy in the lake by us we went to all the time, couldn't do. I wanted him with me. In my will, I will have all my animals and me combined and scattered together on the streets of Paris.

Taz reminds me of my dog I lost a couple years ago. She was really sweet. I think Taz has really grown since it's been the two of you, she looks like she's opened up. I used to think my dog needed a friend.. Im not sure she did... Taz looks like she enjoys the one on one with you...

It will get better Maria but it does take a lot of time to grieve! We had a springer spaniel for 15yrs who had to be put to sleep due to failing health! Well it took me approximately 5 yrs to fully get over the grief & still my heart tugs when I think about him but I can smile about him now! We have rescued a total of 7 cats in the time he’s been gone as I cannot live without some type of animal around to talk “baby talk” tp 🥰
