  • Join me as I ride along the Minnesota River from Downtown Chaska, through Shakopee and back across the river into Bloomington. This trail flows through the wooded floodplain and feels like an escape from the metro area that surrounds it. Biking Twin Cities!

Beautiful trail, thanks for sharing JJ. The shot of the roller coaster and kids screaming was an added bonus!

Thank you! As I was witnessing it I was hoping it would make for a good clip on the video.

It should be noted that when the MN River has flooded certain sections of the trail are completely inaccessible; also one can ride to or start in Carver at the Depot Park. I find the only 2 intersections where one should be alert for cars are on either side of Valleyfair; oh and those hills on the west side of Shakopee are killers if riding a recumbent.

Too bad the old railroad swing bridge at Chaska had to be removed due to deteriorating stone piers. For the short time of it being a trail it made for an easy ride between Chaska and Shakopee on the old Milwaukee Road railroad line.

Thank you for watching. I wasn’t aware there used to be a swing bridge there, but wish I could have ridden over it.
