Just found this Carveco Maker video. I'll be watching every one. My 4040xe will finally be put to work after two years of ownership. Tks James.
Just bought my first machine and I am so grateful to have your videos to check out to get going! Please keep'em coming ;)
Thank you :)
Excellent Tutorial, very informative. I enjoy the thoroughness you provide, I learn a lot. Looking forward to more in the series.
Man, you should keep going brother, you're really awesome at explaining things man, anxiously waiting for more. hoping anyway, i completely understand the amount of time it takes to do this stuff brother, but you'll never know how much you helped me get started, if I had the understanding and comprehension you do with the program i would gladly help. you the man though. Thank you so much for your time,
Thank you 🙏 The next episode to this is already out which is the full beginners guide. A new one also coming out this week on V carves
This is going to be a good series. Will be subscribing to Carveco Maker and following along on my 3018 Pro 😀
just got my Masuter Pro, will be setting it up in the next couple of days and will also get Carveco Maker.
Enjoy 😁, its a great machine
Great tuto amigo, thank you
looking forward to this series as I just used the discount code to subscribe to Carveco Maker. With that said I do have a request, could you do a few videos on utilizing multiple passes what goes into selecting what type of pass to use along with which bit? I ask because I only use my 3018 for PCB fab and would like to expand out to doing things such as reliefs and other 2.5d items but have 0 experience or real knowledge in doing so (I can follow instructions but I don't have the experience to know that you need this type of cut to achieve this type of effect while using this type of bit)
Just lovely 🌹😍😍
excellent
Could you produce a video on how to make chess pieces on CarveCo's with a 4 axis rotary module? I have the three month free subscription for my Genmitsu 4040, but no idea where to begin. Great videos, by the way!!!
Hi James. Great videos. In reference to the word James in your tutorial, i wonder if it could be done as a sort of signature, in ones own handwriting? If so how would we go about it and where to start? I'd like to do a sign for my shed saying. Welcome to Mike's messy shed! Something along those lines. I'd like mikes to be in my handwriting and everything else to be in the style you did the James word.
What do you think?, can it be done?
I have an unnamed 3018 pro with a collet that only seems to take 1/8th inch bits.
You would essentially create that signature as a polygon vector. You could import it into Carvco and then trace over it with a single polygon line, that would probably be the easiest. Your 3018 can take 1/4 in bits but you will need a er11 1/4 collet insert, few bucks off amazon
@James Dean Designs many thanks.. will look forward to finding out what a polygon line is as well 😄
As my workshop is down the garden I will be using a laptop with my CNC machine. Can I have Carvco on that laptop and my main PC in the house?
Yes, you can install it on two devices 👍
@@JamesDeanDesigns Many thanks for your prompt response. I have been watching most if not near all of your RUclips videos and I am going to buy the 4040 Pro as it has the 4th axis ability which is something I might get into and want that as an option. I also will go down Carvco route after doing some basic designs following your tutorials. Keep up the good work
Hi James
Am I missing something here
Carveco appears to be UK company, based in Kenilworth so why is it all in US dollars?
No, not missing anything. I'm not 100% sure why they charge in dollars, possibly because the majority of their customers are in the US but they are based in the West Midlands. They were meant to be changing things to be able to charge in GBP but haven't done it yet
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thanks James
It does seem rather odd, especially not having an option to change currency.
I know Kenilworth, near my old hometown 😉
Are you still working on this series? I hope so I love your channel
First real tutorial took longer than planned but should be out this weekend 👍
@@JamesDeanDesigns i’m glad that it’s just taking longer than expected and that it’s not life events happening to your family. Best wishes to you and your family.
Can I use in multiple computer with same activation, or I need to deactivate first in present and then re activate in another...
I believe you can use it on 2 separate computers
James,
Did you table this series?
Hi James i'm a subscriber to carveco and i use it on my desktop pc but for comfort id like to sit on my sofa and design, do you know if you can you run it on two devices? thanks.
Yes I believe you can 👍
Please excuse my stupid question (yes, they do exist). I'm having trouble downloading the software that came with my FoxAlien Masuter Pro. If I download this software, I don't need the Candle sw that came with the cnc router, right? (Thanks!)
Its not a stupid question but it will help to understand what different software does. The software that comes with the machine is just control software, moving your machine about and loading jobs. Carveco is CAD/CAM software, you use this to create you jobs. So you will still need some form of control software but it doesnt need to be Candle. This will help ruclips.net/video/EMI97Rcb0bQ/видео.html
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thank you!
How to install carveco software on a different pc from the one the purchase was made? Thanks
You just to need wither transfer the file across to it using a USB stick, or open the email up on your new machine and go from there
hello sorry to bother you but you once gave me the code to fix mt printer. the rpm shuts off at the end and beginning of each cut. You told me to enter a variable to fix it do you remember what that code was
$32=0 this is spindle mode
$32=1 is for laser mode
I suspect you need the first one
No Mac version? How crap is that! I'm a big fan of your tutorials, but if I have to retrain myself on PC, it's really not worth it. Are you able to recommend a good Mac software?
Neither of the top 2 CNC software companies have mac versions unfortunately, however thousands of people successfully run it through parallel.
Fusion360 can run on a mac but it's a steep learning curve. Easel can also run on a mac, I think Carbide Create can as well.
@@JamesDeanDesigns Thanks for that, I will stick with Easel for now, but they really are missing a trick.
I'm going to give up my cnc 3018 pro, because every time I start a job, it starts and then stops and then I have to reconnect to the PC because the connection is lost. I've tried everything and I can't solve the problem. does anyone know how to resolve? I saw that you are a specialist in cnc.
Can be a few different things. Poor USB cable, power saving settings on your PC, selective USB suspend also on your PC, static build up if using a vacuum. I cover it in the last issue in this video ruclips.net/video/r-uLsMwOBfY/видео.html
What payment method does not incur a conversion charge
I will vary from country to country. For example I have a credit card specifically designed for overseas spending. Not 100% sure but I don't think PayPal might be free as well
How selfish of you not to share your login info.
I know right....😏
The $15 is not true, it costs me £18 per month so if you are expecting to pay $15, forget it.
I'm billed $216 and that's including tax, when you convert that its about £15 a month if not less at the moment. Make sure your bank isn't charging you for conversion or anything like that
