One of the best tutorials I have watched. Ordered my Gen 3020 a few days ago, got my Carveco subscription and ready to go when my machine arrives. Thanks for such a great beginner video.
Just purchased monthly subscription, also just starting in CNC carving wonderful video thank you for sharing this with us, stay safe happy and healthy, from Henrico County Virginia
I've created a couple of files and cut them with success (mostly). The problem I'm having is that I created some 3/4" width vectors to cut channels for some T-track. I used a 1/4" end mill to cut them 3/8" deep. After I created them, I converted the bitmap to a vector and used Flood Fill Vector. After creating the tool path and saving it, I cut the file. The width and depth were correct, but it only cut the outer edges and left the center untouched. I thought if you used flood fill, the tool would remove all of the material, but it didn't. I don't even know what to call it so I can search for an answer. How would I accomplish this?
I found your tutorial very very helpful. I like the way in which you describe each step in a slow and deliberate way which makes it so much easier for a beginner to follow along. I had your tutorial on one laptop and Carveco Maker on another and followed along with you through the whole process of making a project. After designing the project I would delete it and start over again which I did many time until I was able to go from start to finish without watching. I have purchased a Genmitsu 4040 Pro which came with Candle. The problem that I am having is in the saving section, do you have a video dealing in detail the steps in the saving of a project? Thank you again for the great videos!! Lamar
Roger...I am having big problems with Vector Doctor on my Carveco Maker Cant seem to get rid of the green circles and the mass of green circles which show up on a vector Also how do you delete a red circle which looks like there are two leters joined together ....
Great video! Love this style of instruction. Thank you! I do have a question though. I was following along, verbatim, and when I clicked on "Calculate Now" I get the following error: "Cannot calculate for the following reasons: Safe Z is an absolute value and must be greater then the thickness of the material if the origin is on the bottom. Home Z is lower than material surface Safe Z is lower than Start Z" I was able to bypass this by making the "Safe Z" 16 but I'm not sure of the outcome of this. How can I fix this to match your tutorial? Thanks again!!
New sub, great instructional video, I am new to this CNC software, I am using Easel on my X-Carve but it is soo limited and it's going to get stupid expensive
I believe step over is how much the bit overlaps the previous cut from side to side. Step down is how far the bit moves down after it completes a pass.
Very knowledgeable and informative thank you!
You are very welcome!

Is there a company selling or subscribing Carveco Maker in Australia and are the prices quoted in USA $?
Hi
What is the stepover and step down for.?
I believe step over is how much the bit overlaps the previous cut from side to side. Step down is how far the bit moves down after it completes a pass.
