I’m just about to venture into the CNC world and was looking for instructional videos on Carveco. I’ve found a few tutorial channels, but I must say, that yours are the clearest for me. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce these videos. Very much appreciated 🇬🇧
I have to sat thank you for such a detailed video. I have dyslexia and with your amazing help i am now about to carve my first sign. Again thank you very much...
Thank you so much for the video. I'm really new to cnc and this was very easy to follow. Now the real test - trying it myself! I'll be back for more video help. Thanks again!
Great video, Sir! I love how thorough you are in your instruction!! You not only show how to use #Carveco you also give real world tips! A big help to someone new to CNC! Thank you as well for the mention!
You two are talking via RUclips comments. I just call my in-laws on FaceTime. Next time you two get together for Thanksgiving or Christmas I want to see a "shop visit" video on both channels!
Very well done, I did learn and will subscribe as well. This is exactly what I needed to get started with my new machine. The machine I purchased is the Prover xl 6050 and this will be my very first attempt at using this machine. Wish me luck, lol. Thanks for the tutorial, I will be looking at your other videos for more follow up. Cheers !
Great video! My 3rd time watching. Getting the basics. Just working through getting my CNC to speak to my computer. I think it's the format I saved it as.
Thank you for watching!! In the beginning learning the software is a challenge but hang it there once you have it down the projects you can make are incredible
@@Hinkleshop the worst right now is trying to find the right g-codes for my machine. I think I have it but, for some reason, my machine never makes it out of the strat point. Like it's trying to cut the whole welcome sign on a pin head.
What machine do you have? If you contact Leighton @carveco tech support letting him know which machine he will point you in the correct direction let him know I suggested you contact him
Thank you! I highly recommend changing to carveco it’ll be a pretty steep learning curve but once you have it down, you wonder why you waited so long to switch
@@Hinkleshop actually I am cnc machinist learning curve won't be to bad. There wasn't anything you said in the video that sounded foreign to me.Just have to make sure my old laptop can run it.
Great video thanks for the much needed help. I know this may vary based machine router etc but what would be the average estimated machine time. Don't really see anyone discussing that.
Thanks for watching A rough guess based on 50 IPM I would say 15 -30 min There are many variables involved such as safe z settings and travel speed during rapid moves
Great video! Question, you did your xy with a vbit in the lower left corner. If you then changed bits with say a tapered ball, would that be a problem since the diameter of the bit was smaller?
Thanks for watching I think I understand your question Basically you are wondering if you can use a tapered ball instead of a vee bit If that’s the question Then yes as long as you choose a v bit tool path strategy it will work The walls of the letters will match the taper of the bit
Thank you so much for the reply. Basically, yes, that answers it. My question since getting this longmill using gsender has been if you create a catch all tray, (yes, the one I made from your video) and not have a touchplate, could you start the project with the 1/4” endmill in the lower left corner using the paper method to get your initial xyz. Then, when changing to the vbit, just reposition the vbit and get the z from the same place, not the xy, leaving that as originally created with the first 1/4” position. Sorry for the long description, but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a video explaining that. Your videos have been super helpful, thank you for that!
It may be the finish depth setting or the 90 bit used has a larger profile than what Carveco is being told you are using I ran into that with a bit from amana that was larger than the one I programmed
Sorry Gary I’m not familiar with G sender My shapeoko uses a proprietary program called carbide motion My Onefinity uses a thumb drive to transfer files to the controller I believe when you save your tool paths there is a drop down menu on the bottom were you choose your post processor G sender should be there In Carveco
Thank you for watching When you are creating the tool paths and you click to select a tool a drop down should appear on the left with sub drop downs that show the tools available if that is not the case it would appear you have a software issue contact Carveco support and they will get that fixed Hope this helps
@@blackfirst1691 yes But more importantly you have to use the correct bit You need what they call an O flute bit I recommend the one from Cadence manufacturing The name given to the bit on the website is the “oh jenny”
@Hinkleshop thank You Sir, I really appreciate that you responded back, it's a lot of people that have videos that dont. Right now I'm using the trial version, but it seems that there is no area that says "SEND" so it will start the router to work...I'm trying to engrave on acrylic
@blackfirst1691 there isn’t a send button You need to save the file to what ever post processing system your cnc uses In my case I have a onefinity with a black box controller I send the file to a thumb drive that I insert into the box to convert to G code
@dluxbbq567 You can’t open the tool path from the desktop you have to open it in your Carveco model make your changes and then save over the original that’s on the desk top I didn’t catch that in the first question sorry

@michaelsweet8327 be sure to rezero for z height when changing from one bit to another
why is the font so much thicker in the carving than it is on the screen ?
It may be the finish depth setting or the 90 bit used has a larger profile than what Carveco is being told you are using I ran into that with a bit from amana that was larger than the one I programmed
How do you move it from your desktop and make it cut in gsender

can carveco software engrave acrylic?
