It would be nice if you (or someone else) made the same tutorial for the V-carve Aspire software
Thank you for watching I cant help with a V-Carve video But i can tell you the math would be the same depth of cut etc. you would also have to mirror for the male part
I made it by myself. I used WoodPrix woodworking plans for that.
Thank you for the explanations. I feel better knowing what is actually going on with the different depths on the male side. I learned the hard way (like you) about leaning on the work surface and wondering..... why is the center of the carving shallower than the edges???
Glad to help You thanks for watching
You lost me when you discussed inputting the bit radius… the application specifies the bit diameter (in this case .25”), not the radius. So .25 is correct, not halving it to input the radius as .125”. Specifying a 1/8” diameter will create an unnecessarily tight joint.
Yes it does make a tight joint I recommend adjusting the radius to what ever size you like there is no specific size required I just like the joint as close as i came get for appearance sake
Beautyful, very nice 👍
I found this when I need to make a couple of boxes tomorrow when I rebuild my laser cart. Thank you. Have a Happy New Year
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. My guess for T-slots is it would be useful for making a jig for woodworking
You’re very welcome thanks for watching
What’s the point of a “review” if the reviewer is affiliated with the brand and gets a kickback on sales? You don’t mention ANY of the shortcomings-not even the obvious ones visible in the video-like wobble, binding, etc.
I’m short so there’s that lol 😆
Got both for Christmas needed to see how to use nailer.
German routers are in the 73db range 😂😂😂
He is not kidding about cedar dust! I darn near ended up in the hospital by breathing in western red cedar! Western red cedar has plicatic acid - which I found out I am deathly allergic to! And this was outdoors!
Thanks for the website to make boxes. Tried one today. Man they fit tight together! Had to use a hammer and 2 sides cracked from it. Can i change that?
Yes lie to the program tell it your stock is slightly larger than actual and it will loosen the joints
@Hinkleshop i had the stock at .5 inch and actual was .48 inch. Shouldnt that have done the same thing?
Yes it should have thats how I loosen the joints
@@Hinkleshop ok thanks ill have to try another
Thanks for taking the time to explain the process, you are a life saver!
@@brendanscheiner1378 you’re welcome glad to help
Thank you very much for the explanation. Cheers!
You’re welcome thanks for watching
As usual, terrific information!! I was curious if that program included an option for making grooves that would enable trays for small parts. I'm thinking for an storing game pieces so you can put your games away sorted. The box joints would hold the overall box together with an array of smaller compartments...
@@BigJeff19999 thank you Sorry that program won’t do what you are asking for I would create a dado for the compartments then slide the dividers in and out at what ever size cubbys you need for a particular piece
Great hints, i obey at least many of them. Its taken me 2 years to make a few extra deep mistake holes, in my wasteboard. I keep thinking about trying zero to wasteboard, but not brave enough that a stray UGS "return to sero" would bury my bit 1 in deep. And my cnc steppers wre strong enough to bury a 4in nail !! Anyway, have a great Christmas with Mrs Lisa and any offcuts you've both created. See you in new year..
@@JohnColgan. thanks John Merry Christmas to you and yours
O.K. I got it!! Never cut into your waste board......Thanks Vernon, I have been wanting to try the PVC pipe thing. I'm gonna try it......
@@michaellevine6019 you’re welcome I use 1.06 hole dia try some slightly different sizes in a scrap piece of mdf to confirm the fit
Good tips Merry Christmas to you and your family.
@@kevinrich4637 Merry Christmas to you
First i would like to thank you, for such nice and simple DIY. What are the fluids A and B
@@bereketalula5597 You’re very welcome If you go on Amazon and look up silicone, mold making products you will find them there. I don’t know what the specific name for the two components are.
I made it by myself thanks to WoodPrix.
Great video. Have you tried with thicker material?
@@davidcochran934 Yes And since I uploaded this I have learned if you lie to the program and tell it your stock is slightly larger than it really is you can loosen or tighten the joints as needed or preferred
Wishing well, a vase
I bought excellent e-book from WoodPrix.
This time I will use WoodPrix instructions to make it.
I know that WoodPrix has the best woodworking plans ever.
I made it about three weeks ago. On WoodPrix I learned a lot about it. Check it mates.
OMG! I Finally figured it out.😅 Couldn't have done it without you! I still need to play around with the Start and Finish Depths to get the look I want. But It Looks Awesome! Hopefully my CNC spits it out as nice as the render looks. Or Better😁 Couple of the Problems I had earlier were. *Forgot to set Start Depth on (ToolPath #2) to the height of the Finish Depth from (ToolPath #1) * Forgot to Re-Group some of the Vectors after the flood fill & convert .Bmp to Vector step. * Forgot to make sure the highlighted Vector was properly selected in the Project Box. * When selecting Vectors for ToolPath, I used (CTRL-A) thinking it would be easier. Didn't realize by doing that, it also selected the Outer edge of the Border/Offset and Messed the entire thing up. I'm sure there were other bumbles on my part also. So many I can't remember them all. lol Thanks Again!
Glad you nailed it! And glad i could help
Great Stuff! Kinda a multi part Question to any of you CNC Wood Masters. 😁 The Sign I'm attempting has more than 2 words on it. It has only one area where 2 of the 5 words are Stacked on top of each other. The 2 words that are stacked, and the remaining words are supposed to all have different (Heights/Thickness) Might be able to switch it up so they all have the same height, except the 2 Stacked words if it becomes too complicated? Me being the newb that I am, made separate layers for each word, and a separate layer for the Border/Offset. (like 7 Layers) Total. My newb thinking for separate Layers for everything was. If I ever wanted to take a chunk from one project, I could maybe use it on another without having to recreate it from scratch. Y/N? I'm assuming I need a Separate Tool Path for Each Grouped Height/Thickness. Y/N? If I change a couple of the Non Stacked words to the same Height. Should I combine them into the Same Layer? Or do I just Leave them separate and (Lightbulb On Multiple Vectors at the same time) when making a Tool Path? Is that Always the same thing? Weather separate Layers or combined. As Long as they are Highlighted/Turned On at the same time? Y/N? In this Video, you Copied your Border/Offset onto Both layers. If I keep All 7 Layers, Would I need to also copy My Border to All my Layers? Or just the 2 Layers that are Stacked? Am I thinking correctly with any of this... lol Sorry this is Soooo Long! Been Super busy and finally (3 months later) have the time to attempt this. Thanks for any advice!
Dang it! I almost got it right. lol I'll just keep messing around with the Layers. After the simulation render. It was Almost Perfect. The Big single Letter in the Middle of the Sign ended up being in the front which blocked some of the other word. Im glad I saved and named a new file with every step. Looking back at my saved files. it's something to do with the Flood Fill & Convert .Bmp to Vector part. it's 3am and my head hurts, I should be in bed.... lol
Vernon 😢please accept my apologies for asking questions yesterday without giving you credit for bunch of well made, diverse projects.
No worries John! You have been a steadfast supporter and Lisa and I appreciate you Now if I can just get that pesky RUclips algorithm to work with me lol 😆
Great job Vernon!
@kevinrich4637 thanks Kevin
as others have commented on not having maker plus just maker could you show the process with maker? I have done it using the spheres and wrote everything down but the dog ate my instructions. It wasn't that hard but you had to follow a certain procedure with the spheres and that's where I get stumped. For me to get maker plus with the Canadian dollar would be almost $70 a month. Could you just add the maker part to the end of the original video. I believe there would be a lot appreciative people Thanks Charlie
Thanks for watching Charlie Unfortunately once you load the video to RUclips you cant add to it I will try to make a follow up video as soon as I can for doing this in maker
@@Hinkleshop Thankyou that would be great I'II be watching for it
Fantastic as always
Thank you very much
Thank goodness Atlas showed up at the end. It wouldn't be right if he wasn't out helping.
He’s always there working hard behind the scenes to make these videos happen LOL 😆
nice work ! On your laser , you can also use a sublayer to do an outline and it will really make your definition pop nice and crisp :)
Thanks for watching and the tip
Top notch😁
Alright, Alright, Alright Happy Holidays Vernon and Lisa!!
Thank you Michael Happy holidays to you too!
Para madeiras de 40mm , da certo também?
Subscribed great video!
Thank you!
T slots for nuts and bolts. Used with acrylic typically.
Great video Vernon. Instead of creating the extra lines for the tool path just create a tool in the tool database with .030 a diameter and give it the same feed and speed as the one you used. Then all you have to do is select the inside or outside of your line as usual. Carveco only needs to know how big the center portion of your bit is to function normally and the depth you need it to go. It is really quite simple actually.
Great stuff Billy and Thanks for the info Took me a second to wrap my head around that but you are correct loading a bit with the given dia and changing to an inside or outside tool path strategy would work and be much easier Takes a few minutes for things to sink in to this old brain LOL 😆 Thanks again Ps you could also adjust step down to a greater distance to reduce passes
Onion Peel?? Very nice video and I always learn something new. Thanks!!
Thank you, Michael the term "onion peel" refers to a very thin strip left on the stock when cutting parts loose. You leave that very thing connection, so you don't need tabs, when finished use a flush trim bit to clean up and cut the part loose from the stock. When I produce the waste board rules video it will be much clearer.
Great lesson I learned a lot! THANKS
Super tutorial, Vernon! I just ordered that bit! Thank you!
Welcome sir thanks for watching
You can use WoodPrix plans. The best e-books and very detailed instructions. You can learn much from them and make it yourself.
Will check this when I get home.. thank you 👏🏻
Sorry but drilling and boring are definitely not the same thing.
I enjoyed this video. Planning on making a laser cut guitar using living hinge to wrap and clear epoxy to keep the lines
How do you move it from your desktop and make it cut in gsender
Sorry Gary I’m not familiar with G sender My shapeoko uses a proprietary program called carbide motion My Onefinity uses a thumb drive to transfer files to the controller I believe when you save your tool paths there is a drop down menu on the bottom were you choose your post processor G sender should be there In Carveco
I tried the Kreg version... too much play so the drill can woble and be out of perpendicular by at least 3°. Will try this one to see if it's better
That looks awesome
Good video 👍👍 I've taken a picture of my board and import it to the software. Then resize the picture till the length and with match the physical board. Make the drawing right on the digital copy of the board.
Thanks for watching and for the added info
