id say kashiwagi would have a kirin like mine. he seems to give even the toughest opponents a hard time (even kiryu was surprised he lost a match) and from his actions during yakuza 0-3 he seems to fit the bill of giving peace and good fortune to most people it interacts with

never played the other games, but Kashiwagi was a sympathetic character during the entire Yakuza 0. During this fight I just understood that Majima was desperate to get info about Makimura, but I knew it wouldnt be a fight to the death.
Honestly, not so much for me, ever since I got an idea of what he was like in the other games, I've been wanting to see just how strong he was if he was the Kazama Family Captain, and when I understood I'd be fighting him I couldn't be more pumped.

Playing through Yakuza 3 right now and got to Lau and realized this Kashiwagi fight was a callback to that. Kashiwagi's style and Lau's barehanded style are even rooted in the same base style, they just have slightly different moves
To explain the timing, you have 0.229 of a second to press the counter button. It takes 0.4 of a second to blink. I read this from another comment on this fight; so it is literally a "blink and it's over" second.

Majima was actually more fearsome back then than later on I'd say, taking that time he fended off the omi alliance in the second game into consideration. 80s were probably his prime days

No need for a. Kiwami 0. There’s a channel called GGalactigal that makes fanmade tracks for various Yakuza bosses that only got regular boss themes. So far, she made tracks for Oda, Nishitani, Sera, and Kashiwagi.
How does one do that jumping punch move done after a full rush combo? Never seen it before and even if I do, I don't trust it ever since it told me the wrong controls and I got my ass beaten by Mr shakedown.

Anyone notices Majima holding a knife in the cutscene after he beat Kashiwagi? So it's canon that Majima used Mad dog style to fight against Kashiwagi. Unlike every other fights in this game we always see Majima is unarmed in cutscenes. Canonically, he only uses Thug and Breaker style to fight, but Kashiwagi pushed him to use Mad dog style
Man I hate that Kashiwagi only got to be a major part in three (really two) games. Why’d they have to do what they did? Keeping him out of Yakuza 3, 4, 5, and 6 only to bring him back in Like a Dragon. He was one of my favorite characters in Kiwami and Kiwami 2!
I love yakuza but I hate it when the amazing detailed cutscene changes into smackdown vs raw 2011 created cutscene and they start speaking in lego grunts for fucks sake just give sega some money so they can afford their own game franchise
