I think that Tachibana is an underrated badass. Manipulating a guy into killing you, so that he gets killed immediately after, is a cool way to go out.

I think it kinda symbolizes his hate for the yakuza fighting him and his tattoos being of a demon of some sort instead this the most common the oni and making it symbolic because he downer cuts him hard both braking his glasses and putting him off balance which can mean going to the underworld or hell
I honestly think somewhere down the line Kuze knew Kiryu had what it took to be a Yakuza in his own right. that's why he kept pursuing him and in their last fight Kuze wanted to put Kiryu to one final test and see is Kiryu could surpass his ambitions. Which we all know how that turned out. Kuze respected Kiryu.

I couldn't help but notice that at 8:00 you tried to do the 88 special which would've ended the fight in a super cinematic way, but great fight overall.
At some point I ignored all the fluff in Yakuza 0 and just went for playing nothing but story. It really feels like a movie that way, kinda like Metal Gear Solid but with beat-em-up instead of stealth.

I admire your effort in trying to finish the fight with that 88 Heat Action at 8:00 there. I would’ve done the same thing too but it’s hard considering that when any enemy attacks and Nishiki is in the vicinity of the attack, hitting triangle initiates that team heat action instead. Still, I can tell you were trying so hard to get it.

He's 20 here and never experienced tragedy. Later he's 31, spent 10 years in prison with people trying to kill him daily, and came back out to a life of shit again. He's done.
The best part about this fight was that in every single fight they've had up to this point it was Kuze who initiated it. He was the one who always tried to stop Kiryu. Not this time though. This time it was Kiryu who said enough is enough. This time it was personal and there wasn't a damn thing Kuze could do to get out of it. Then in the end Kiryu got Kuze's respect for it
Funny thing about this fight kiryus reaction mirrored mine as well. The entire time playing as kiryu I kept getting pulled into fights despite just running around. 90 percent of the fights in this game (and arguably the series) is just reactive. To me this was the first time as a player I thought "I am gonna beat your a** for that" and played more offensively. It pulled both kiryu and the player by force. Love this series and your observation.

I only know the story up to Kiwami 1 myself, but don't Kiryu's exploits leave Tojo Clan in a pretty bad shape every once in a while? I'd say he does make good on his promise, it's just work in progress.
This is prob one of the only few times Kiryu actually Snapped, like the way he screamed Kuze name and the way he punches really show that Kiryu is really pissed off, he didn't even used a correct Stance and almost tripped when punching Kuze
From 10:30 till the end, if you ever played Yakuza 0 and then playYakuza Kiwami 2, then during the scene before Kiryu vs Ryuji, I think you must notice the backsound.
Everyone feels bad for Tachibana in this scene and I do too, but I hate how Kuze didn't want him killed, and Kiryu probably will never know that and will hate Kuze to the grave.

At the last moment i like how you try to finish Kuze with the most powerful heat action in Dragon of Dojima style, the Ultimate Essence 88', and yet Nishiki freak it up, TWICE!
The worst part about that is if Nishiki even sniffs the vicinity of an almost dome like area around kuze you get that one regardless. I tested it recently and there's literally nothing you can do about it which sucks
4:05 I would like to remind everyone that this punch may very well be the strongest punch Kiryu has ever thrown 1)he is literally at his physical peak(this may not be entirely true but he is young and full of energy) 2)he is mad af meaning he didn't hold ANYTHING back probably
i would like to point out this is easily his 2nd weakest state aside from beginning of 3. he becomes much stronger by the start of 1. and is stated to surpass himself by the end of the game. not to mention his strongest is most likely 5 or kiwami 2. due to the fact 2 takes place a single week after 1

Everyone feels bad for Tachibana in this scene and I do too, but I hate how Kuze didn't want him killed, and Kiryu probably will never know that and will hate Kuze to the grave.

@Ashley True, but at times, there are such scummy characters in the Yakuza series that really want to make you feel like letting loose and bash their heads in because of the messed-up shit they tend to pull
At the last moment i like how you try to finish Kuze with the most powerful heat action in Dragon of Dojima style, the Ultimate Essence 88', and yet Nishiki freak it up, TWICE!
The worst part about that is if Nishiki even sniffs the vicinity of an almost dome like area around kuze you get that one regardless. I tested it recently and there's literally nothing you can do about it which sucks

1)he is literally at his physical peak(this may not be entirely true but he is young and full of energy)
2)he is mad af meaning he didn't hold ANYTHING back probably
i would like to point out this is easily his 2nd weakest state aside from beginning of 3. he becomes much stronger by the start of 1. and is stated to surpass himself by the end of the game. not to mention his strongest is most likely 5 or kiwami 2. due to the fact 2 takes place a single week after 1

Thomas Yap Jin Hui For some reason Kiryu's Thug style became brawler, and Majima's Street Fighter became Thug. IMO i actually preferred the older names (considering Kiryu's gold style is called DESTROYER, instead of an outdated meme)
