This whole series has got me thinking. Kiryu's greatest, most persistent enemy in the entire franchise has been his own damn clan that he's a leader of.
And Majima saw all of it unfold without doing much lol. He still is a part of the clan that had made him lose an eye, as well as the girl he loved. But hey. At least he has it better than Kiryu somewhat.

I fucking loved this section of 0. We said goodbye to the Cabaret Grand "customer is king" Goro Majima and had our first taste of The Mad Dog of Shimano. I didn't play Yakuza at all before 0, hell, I haven't even heard about it until 0 came out. I got to experience this game with a fresh set of eyes; seeing Majima just deteriorate into a crazed fiend was magical. I truly grew to love him in the 3 games I played, especially with the Goro saga in Kiwami 2 - that was the icing on the cake.
Imagine how terrfiying it would be to be one of these Dojima guys just hearing Majima saying this crazy sounding shit then starts breakdancing and killing everyone in the process
i mean, i'd be petrified if some guy took out a dozen of my coworkers before using one of my friends as a tool to open a door to beat more of us up... I just imagine the fighting and shouting getting louder and louder as this monster breaks through every defense we've set up at our HQ!
I would probably die of laughter watching it before shitting myself as i watch the black breakdancing tornado shift closer and closer to me as chairs and tables fly across the room just from being touched by Majima
I used Mad Dog for the long battle and then for the 1v1s with Awano and Lao Gui I used thug as it was more assassin/snake-like compatible to Lao Gui's style

I do believe many of these guys died as a result of Majima snapping, at this point i doubt he cared who lived or died in that building as long as Makoto was avenged
Many people have said before that if you didn't get the secret styles from the side business, this is where you would unlock Mad Dog of Shimano, Majima letting out all of his rage and going absolutely apeshit!

I think it would've been more logical if Majima had learned his Mad Dog fighting style here or on the Sebastian Building instead of getting it through an optional side game
I don’t know, I feel like that’s too easy. you could literally play the game in easy, unlocking their styles with little to no effort. I’m sure they wanted players to work for the styles instead of just doing the story. (awarding the people who truly care enough to play their substories.)
Sora Gasai honestly. if I had to choose, I think Majima’s is the easiest to complete. just look up coordinated sets for platinum hostesses and you’re basically set. it took me like 8 hours in total, trust me.
The combat, the music, the whole reason of the fight... This is literally the only time I wished that a fight never ends, no game ever made me feel like that

Japanese voice actors are tough as shit. They can voice 4 manly screaming characters and still have time to voice a calmer character during the afternoon. No other voice actor can do that, consistently and constantly

In the span of a week, Kiryu and Majima both attacked Dojima HQ singlehandedly. I think the Family learned a lesson after the Empty Lot issue: do whatever it takes to keep Kiryu and Majima happy. They couldn't afford to take another attack by either man anymore.
Been through 0 and Kiwami now, and it was frankly shocking to see how much Majima had changed between the games. But I will always remember what a gigachad he was, storming a whole clan for one girl. My respect to you, Mad Dog.

The mad dog comes out for the first time. But am I only one that took the ending as, that Majima chose to become the mad dog, and that this sort of reveals its a mask he leans into for the rest of life to deal with the loss he felt when he tried to be normal.

The combat theme in this fight is one of the best in the game hands-down. Yakuza as a series has awesome fight music, but this theme in particular is perfect.

Same! As soon as I noticed I was near the end I grinded the business minigames for both Kiryu and Majima just to unlock their secret fighting styles and using them in their final battles.
One of the many things that zero manages to get right is the age of the characters, they don't exactly look the same as they do at age 30 or so, but instead resemble them more or less.
