In another universe, Kiryu and Ryuji become oath brothers after 2, and Majima drags Saejima along with him to stalk them. Every day, Kamurocho experiences at least 2 tremors due to the fighting.
Honestly that's just how I play RPGS, if I'm not 20 levels higher than everyone else with everything as maxed as possible for the current story progression, I'm not having a fun time. The Battle Arena was just a godsend for me. Much better EXP and material gain than the underground dungeon and way easier to farm.
I've been playing RPG's since the 80's. and this intro and fight is up there in the top 3 best battles of all time. Majima unique intro and that music was an incredible experience.
Ichiban's party makes not only Majima break a sweat, but also Saejima. Meanwhile, a huge amount of either Tojo Clan or Omi Alliance elite goons along with their leaders could barely do the same.
@@deviljho4260 Majima and Saejima are rusty though and were holding back, but the fact that Ichiban's crew didn't get absolutely clapped proves they are a force to be reckoned with, I kind of wonder how tough they are by themselves though, maybe mini boss level.
@@edwardarroyo884 true, but even though they are rusty and holding back they could still wipe out an entire yakuza family in a few minutes. I’d actually argue they are slightly above mini boss level. @@deviljho4260 Yeah, I'd say Ichiban would count as a full on boss, but not a super difficult one, while the others are either tutorial bosses or a mini boss you fight multiple times.
Theories on each bosses's weaknesses: Majima (fire): reference to how he was tortured with fire in the Hole in Yakuza 0. Kiryu (ice): reference to how he almost died of hypothermia at the end of Yakuza 5. Dragons are also weak to ice. Saejima (ice): ditto for Saejima except it occurred when he was in Hokkaido early on in Yakuza 5.

@@ivangambino4135 eri wasnt suppose to be part of the main cast. She cannon as an entrepreneur that help you out. Thats all. @@ivangambino4135 Oh yeah, Nanba Adachi and Saeko are 100% going to be party members in the next game. There'll be new party members to replace them just to keep it fresh, and also because if Zhao and Han returned and were party members, but were locked until later chapters like in this one, it'd feel weird and forced since they already played that card with them before.
@@everythingreview767 I feel like Eri's going to return as an optional secret party member like in this one, but she's going to be way more broken and you'll probably have to grind the next management minigame (Bc we all know it's coming back) and you'll get her at the ass end of it.
See I’ve been playing through this game recently and I knew Majima was a boss somewhere and had seen him walk down the stairs before but when I hit this scene in the game I really was not expecting it and freaked out a bit
16:39 The way his eye widens and he's giggling like a child. You can tell his thought process was "These guys remind me of Kiryu-Chan. I AM 100% OKAY WITH THESE GUYS REPLACING HIM.."
My headcanon is that Saejima spent the years at Nick Ogata's place putting up with with Majima Everywhere 2.0 - safehouse edition. Imagine it. Saejima's just trying to do his laundry and suddenly there's a cackle from the dryer... Honestly explains why they're still so buff after a few years out of action.
First time I fought Majima, I thought it was going to be a fight where you can't win. The difficulty gap is so large, I went back to beat the battle arena to level up.
In my recent replay of Yakuza 7, one thing I noticed is how resilient Saejima is. Easily guarded against physical and blade attacks, no burns or stun effect from fire and electrical. But when I realised that ice was his only weakness, something dawned on me... could this be a call back to Saejima's time as a hunter in Yakuza 5? How the cold of the mountain would drain his health?
I love that for this fight when it's just one of the jimas, the party lines up like it's an old school rpg. Backs to the wall, choosing commands. Really sells the "fighting legends" thing.
I’ve noticed that RGG Studio reuse a lot of gameplay mechanics and animations from previous games. Like for an example the one Nishiki QTE sequence in Kiwami 1 is literally the same as Aizawa QTE from Yakuza 5
Saejima is a goddamn bulldozer. It doesn't really come across in this vid where everyone is level 99 so he just kinda hits hard, but on the first walkthrough, where your level is closer to his, he all but one-shots everyone who looks at him funny. Majima does all his acrobatics and fancy moves and gets off about 40% of your characters' HP, while Saejima just punches two-three times and you scramble for revives. It's scary.
Me: Hey Ichi, if you still wanna be a legend, you have to get past these two. Ichi: Pfft, sounds easy. Me: They also happen to be actual living legends of the Tojo Clan. Have fun! Ichi: ...Fuck. Soundtrack rocks, too.
Ichi *just take his phone just for kill everyone with the orbital laser* Nancy : I had better idea Ichi : ? Nancy : Me Majima : *insert Majima's laught* Seajima : What the ....
I just realised that Saejima and Majima's blade kill tag team is strikingly similar to what Kiryu and Akiyama pull off in the previous game. Kiryu/Saejima lands the punch and Akiyama/Majima lands the kick. Goes to show incredible teamwork.
The reason why this is in an RPG format is because it's stated that Ichiban loves playing the Dragon Quest series (R.I.P Akira Toriyama) ever since he was young, so this is the way he imagines how he has all of his battles. It's new and it's also cute
It's the best imo. With Kiryu and the final boss you knew it was coming, but with these guys they just walk up and start fighting you, and they gave enough time so that we can see more chemistry between Majima and Saejima in their fights. Blade Kill is so fucking cool
You were probably thinking something like "nah, they are just 2 really strong enemies at once, I can handle that". And then you found out you are not the only one who could do tag team moves.
@@bryanreyes7382 Well HE didn't really cut it, it's the norm for prisons to shave the heads of incoming convicts. But it also should've grown back by now so maybe he is keeping it short himself. I liked his long hair too even if he looked a bit like a hobo.

This was the turning point in the game where the story and atmosphere finally came back to the classic yakuza storyline, this is the best boss fight to let that sink in.
I feel like majimas fight had so much potential, like you know when kiryu switches stances in his fight, they totally could have done that with majima, so like first he would go thug, then breaker, then saijima joins in the fight, and then majima would slugger, and then at the right moment, ichiban and majima would exchange bat clashes, as if there were using swords and it would be like qte, and then the final swing would be like a button mash sequence, and if you won it would show the bat getting knocked out of his hands and then he would say something like "HAHAHA THIS IS GETTING FUN" and that's when he goes mad dog majima
Beat this fight a few days ago, was super underleveled for it (like 7-8 levels)... at least Majima's poison never disappeared during the fight! now I'm training the shit out of my party preparing for the Kiryu fight haha.
I kinda wish Majima went through his Thug, Slugger, Breaker and Mad Dog styles like Kiryu went through his four fighting styles, though I guess for him Brawler was replaced by his Dragon Engine fighting style

I was level 44 and both saejima and majima were level 50 and dont tell me that I shouldve done the coliseum because I finished all floors and still was under level. I lost once and then won but had to use at least 4 medkits to revive allies and saeko’s only job was to heal everyone, nothing else.
Well yeah i tried at lvl 36 and once i saw that saejima would just one shot anyone with his shoulder tackle i just went back and grinded the coliseum until im lvl 50

It's good a thing I spoiled myself on this fight. Otherwise I wouldn't have read the comments and avoided Battle Arena and get torn apart by these monsters.
I fought them for the first time yesterday. My team were all level 60 so I got too confident. That made me lose the first time, but I got them in the second attempt. If all bosses are gonna be this tough from chapter 12, I should keep visiting the battle arena.
Gameplay aside, this was the most hype boss intro and music in the game. Gave me goosebumps first time I played it. And the second, third, fourth... Until I finally beat them. Lol
I didn't play the previous Yakuza games when I played Like A Dragon so I couldn't appreciate how terrifying it was to be fighting Majima. It only took me a dozen failed attempts before I finally beat him.

In another universe, Kiryu and Ryuji become oath brothers after 2, and Majima drags Saejima along with him to stalk them. Every day, Kamurocho experiences at least 2 tremors due to the fighting.
@@eonnephilim852 The poor world, why would you make it suffer so.
The sotenbori battle arena was not a friendly tip. It was both a warning and a threat
Honestly that's just how I play RPGS, if I'm not 20 levels higher than everyone else with everything as maxed as possible for the current story progression, I'm not having a fun time. The Battle Arena was just a godsend for me. Much better EXP and material gain than the underground dungeon and way easier to farm.
doesn't Ichiban tell the player this?
I've been playing RPG's since the 80's. and this intro and fight is up there in the top 3 best battles of all time. Majima unique intro and that music was an incredible experience.

Ichiban's party makes not only Majima break a sweat, but also Saejima. Meanwhile, a huge amount of either Tojo Clan or Omi Alliance elite goons along with their leaders could barely do the same.
I like how this puts in to perspective just how strong majima and saejima are but at the same times it proves ichiban’s party is also really tough.
It depends on who you’re talking about though. Some of the party are like tutorial/first boss material while others are miniboss material, decently tough but not much of a challenge.
@@deviljho4260 Yeah, I'd say Ichiban would count as a full on boss, but not a super difficult one, while the others are either tutorial bosses or a mini boss you fight multiple times.
Theories on each bosses's weaknesses:
Majima (fire): reference to how he was tortured with fire in the Hole in Yakuza 0.
Kiryu (ice): reference to how he almost died of hypothermia at the end of Yakuza 5. Dragons are also weak to ice.
Saejima (ice): ditto for Saejima except it occurred when he was in Hokkaido early on in Yakuza 5.
And he got one on one with a bear🤣
Is no one going to mention Nanba and Adachi stepping in front of Ichiban when Arakwa says there’s gonna be another fight? And then everyone else surrounded him to protect him? I damn near teared up at that display of friendship, love this new crew so much, I really hope they don’t end up as one off characters.
Nanba, adachi and saeko are definitely main stays, eri is definitely a one off sadly, they didnt even add her to the cutscenes when u unlock her, and joon-gi han and zhao im not sure, i just hope with the next game it just keeps the same party members and just adds to the roster
@@ivangambino4135 eri wasnt suppose to be part of the main cast. She cannon as an entrepreneur that help you out. Thats all. She won the contest to be included as an in game character, it was for a minor role as part of the aide quest but end up being recruitable as party. So thats why she never in the main story line cutscene.
@@ivangambino4135 Oh yeah, Nanba Adachi and Saeko are 100% going to be party members in the next game. I'm also pretty confident in saying Zhao And Han will be in the next game too, but probably not as party members. Just people you can talk to and help out in the story.
@@grunkythegrandpaofcheese5241 Oh yeah. They said their next vision is Japan, and then the world, right? The crew will be busy.
See I’ve been playing through this game recently and I knew Majima was a boss somewhere and had seen him walk down the stairs before but when I hit this scene in the game I really was not expecting it and freaked out a bit
Felt the same emotions as you my friend
I love Ichiban's reaction to Majima and Saejima's tag attack, like "what the hell did I get myself into?"
16:39 The way his eye widens and he's giggling like a child. You can tell his thought process was "These guys remind me of Kiryu-Chan. I AM 100% OKAY WITH THESE GUYS REPLACING HIM.."
Nobody will replace Kiryu, he's already in majima heart
Me: Damn, Majima is really tough
Saejima: Allow me to introduce myself
I literally yelled "No Saejima, it's not your turn! It's not your turn!!!"
I felt the same in the Kiryu vs Saejima fight in yakuza 4. I lost the first time and thought that it was a scripted fight
How the cold of the mountain would drain his health?
thats why he wears that bigass coat all the time, he gets chilly easily poor guy

Can we please just take a moment to admire just how much this song slaps? Like hot damn man, this song goes HARD.
I love that for this fight when it's just one of the jimas, the party lines up like it's an old school rpg. Backs to the wall, choosing commands. Really sells the "fighting legends" thing.
In this fight, Majima is immune to being charmed. My headcanon is he can't be charmed because he still loves Makoto.
all bosses are immune to ailments in the game not just majima
not all aiments though. Even Majima gets poisoned in this fight@@qoxx
Nah, he’s it’s because he only has eyes for KIRYU-CHAN
Its been over 20 years, he is over makoto
More like “eye” lol
This is the youngest Saejima has ever looked. would be cool to see how he fairs against Tendo tbh
Pretty sure he'd slap Tendon around easily
Saejima is the only man alive that can say he fought kiryu twice and the fights both ended in a draw. Saejima would destroy tendo.
He would baby tendo
Woah now, that's a baby shaking Tendo isn't ready for
Y5 Saejima could destroy multiple Tendo.
7:30 That's Akai Brothers heat action from Kiwami 1,i've played too much yk1
I’ve noticed that RGG Studio reuse a lot of gameplay mechanics and animations from previous games. Like for an example the one Nishiki QTE sequence in Kiwami 1 is literally the same as Aizawa QTE from Yakuza 5
@@Amar-ux7gi you'll get used to it 😂
THEY HAD A QTE?!????

Ichi *just take his phone just for kill everyone with the orbital laser*
Nancy : I had better idea
Ichi : ?

Majima : *insert Majima's laught*
Seajima : What the ....
I just realised that Saejima and Majima's blade kill tag team is strikingly similar to what Kiryu and Akiyama pull off in the previous game. Kiryu/Saejima lands the punch and Akiyama/Majima lands the kick. Goes to show incredible teamwork.
12:36 Even for legends like Majima and Saejima this can be really effective and can put them out of combat
in yakuza 0, 4 and 5, we beat up the goons. In yakuza 7, we are the goons
A huge smile appeared on my face when i heard that crazy laugh :D
The reason why this is in an RPG format is because it's stated that Ichiban loves playing the Dragon Quest series (R.I.P Akira Toriyama) ever since he was young, so this is the way he imagines how he has all of his battles. It's new and it's also cute
Imagine being so insane until even the enemies you are fighting sees doppelgangers of you

@@ТимофейЛебедев-с4в thanks lol
This and kiryu though I havent beat the game yet
It's the best imo. With Kiryu and the final boss you knew it was coming, but with these guys they just walk up and start fighting you, and they gave enough time so that we can see more chemistry between Majima and Saejima in their fights. Blade Kill is so fucking cool
I just realized receive you the prototype plays when majima walks on screen...fitting.
saejima gets stabbed and beaten and flamed? 50 dmg
but some ice? this shit dangerous, 2k dmg
He catches a cold easily!
Saejima who spent a long ass time living in the cold and snow is weak to ice?
You were probably thinking something like "nah, they are just 2 really strong enemies at once, I can handle that". And then you found out you are not the only one who could do tag team moves.
My favorite fight in the whole game
8:11 It’s that the game itself even interrupts the fight to tell you not to fuck around here that gets me.

This has also got to be a decent sync.
Show - Time!
This level of graphics and facial animation looks especially good on majima compared to kiryu, saejima, and the others
even better on ps5
Well, Kiryu is not that expressive, not even in his own games
Goro and Taiga are two of my favorite Yakuza legends along with Kazuma.
Though i prefer Saejima with the hairdo he had in 4, but, yeah, he is awesome
@@TheSpawnfan so do I. I miss his long hair from 4 until he cut it in 5
@@bryanreyes7382 Well HE didn't really cut it, it's the norm for prisons to shave the heads of incoming convicts. But it also should've grown back by now so maybe he is keeping it short himself. I liked his long hair too even if he looked a bit like a hobo.
@@gaminggoddess85 true. To be fair, he was a hobo in Yakuza 4 when he came to Kamurocho to find Goro and since there were cops around, he went underground and befriend with hobos until he finally reunited with Goro.
I like kriyu more he's may favorite of the bunch
This was the turning point in the game where the story and atmosphere finally came back to the classic yakuza storyline, this is the best boss fight to let that sink in.
This fight humbled me during my play through. I thought my party was unstoppable then got here. Spent the next few hours in the battle arena lol
When the song kicks in saying showtime it gave me so much happiness it fit him so much and reminded me of him in the first game

On normal I beat it at lv.39~, super underleveled. Definitely not recommended, given how easy grinding level is on normal.

@@SakuraStardust hah, that's pretty neat! :D
I was 17 levels under and barely killed Majima but died by Saejima of course
I kinda wish Majima went through his Thug, Slugger, Breaker and Mad Dog styles like Kiryu went through his four fighting styles, though I guess for him Brawler was replaced by his Dragon Engine fighting style
I didn't know who this was when I first played this game. After going back to 0, this has so much more significance for me now. I love it.

I overcame this bossfight yesterday and let me tell you, don’t skip the grinding before this. I was level 44 and both saejima and majima were level 50 and dont tell me that I shouldve done the coliseum because I finished all floors and still was under level. I lost once and then won but had to use at least 4 medkits to revive allies and saeko’s only job was to heal everyone, nothing else.
I scraped by at lvl 37 but it took forever
Well yeah i tried at lvl 36 and once i saw that saejima would just one shot anyone with his shoulder tackle i just went back and grinded the coliseum until im lvl 50
@@huzai7083 Now, a month after writing my commentary, I think it’s funny how I called the coliseum a grind. It is nowhere near the level of griding needed to beat the final true millennium tower😂 that shit is just fucked up, yakuza 7 turned into GRIND, THE GAME.

I love that this party is level 99 and it’s still taking this long to end the fight. My boys out here still swinging.
Gameplay aside, this was the most hype boss intro and music in the game. Gave me goosebumps first time I played it. And the second, third, fourth... Until I finally beat them. Lol
